Incredible talent...but how does a boy have a childhood..if he has to devote countless hours to practice and memorize long pieces of music. He is extraordinary!!! Absolutely amazing.

This boy is a real genious. Id been heard this violin concert by mendelshon in a very large oportunities and played for moust of the famous concerts violonist like: Heifetz, Menuhin, Perlman and others.and he rich the same quality efects and sounds than all them. Really great

Dieses Konzert hörte ich mit Anne Sohie Mutter und Karajan und da erst erkannte ich die Leistung von Theo Gertler und sein Team. Dem Dirigenten dem Orchester und seinen Lehrern. Das Besondere daran ist neben der Virtuosität ist der Ausdruck das Zusammenspiel die Akzente die verschiedensten Flagiolett Töne, die dabei entstehende Spannung, die Klangmalerei, ein Gefluster die Zartheit die Geige singt weint jammert freut sich donnert alle Gefühlsnuancen sind dabei. Besser als Karajan ein Meisterwerk. Herzlichen Dank an Euch alle.

@@gabrielbejenaru1634 You perhaps didn’t translate well the German. The person is comparing Anne-Sophie’s recording with Karajan of this Concerto when she was just a few years older than this boy. And I also agree that Teo’s version is technically and artistically better than Anne-Sophie. His hands and technique are much better set up due to a proper teaching which AS Mutter didn’t have. Excellent right and left hand posture and command, beautiful vibrato, components which Mutter never had. Only her genius helped her to play well with a very stiff bow hold and tense, hysterical vibrato. Apart from the excellent schooling this boy obviously has, he is very natural, musical and mature. Hope he will continue to enjoy performing and sharing his gift with others!!!

Well, this is amazing. Extraordinary talent at such a young age. What a great time to be alive!

In my view this is indistinguishable from the best violinists in the world. If you had your eyes shut and knew nothing about it, you would think it's Yehudi Menuhin or Yascha Haifetz. And look at the dignity, the posture and the gestures of this young artist at 15:40-15:50, at the end of the first movement. Bravo, Teo, an it's not only a born talent, there's much work and perseverance there.

He's so cute, and he plays wonderful! (I mean for his age and years of playing). What l like the most is that he still plays like a "toddler talk". The feelings are childish the interpretation is small and innocent, which means this beautiful boy is NOT a mad-prodigy, just a very gifted child who WILL be a great violinist for many decades ahead. Way to go Teo!

This is extremely impressive. What I hear is Mendelssohn delivered with the utmost virtuosity, poise and intelligence coupled with a certain sweetness and purity that just melts my heart. As an older pianist I tend to become cynical sometimes when kids play very fast and very loud with no understanding of the music. But this is really something else. Congratulations, Teo - you already know the size of your talent. You have the potential to become just what the world is looking for, providing you keep up your discipline and purpose during the next few difficult years. I would love to see you play chamber music and have composers write for you. There is no limit to what you can do.

I had at one time taught 11 year old boys who were tripping themselves on their own shoe strings. I'm amazed at what this 11 yo is doing with his. It's other-worldly. Makes me want to praise and thank the Creator of the Universe. Such beauty!

Didn't pause or anything even when his elbow knocked the microphone. His poise and professionalism is astonishing along with the intonation, phrasing and delicacy. That 3/4 violin must be exceptional to project so well.
