Tent Camping In Snow With Ultralight Shelter

In this video, I take you on a tent camping trip to showcase how to camp in the snow with an ultralight shelter. I'll be using my new Durston Gear X-Mid Pro 2 ultralight tent to brave the snow. I finally made it back to my favorite old growth forest and it was awesome! The weather was mild and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the fire while staring up at the moon. Hope you enjoy!

You make walking around in snowshoes look super easy. I'd be falling, smacking mosquitoes, cursing like a sailor but enjoying nature.

It's getting to be that time of year. I'm still hoping for a freak snow storm before I put away the hot tents haha. Warm weather is kind of nice for a change though!

That tent looks super thin! is it stronger than it looks? The fire looked so inviting, do other people camp around there too? it's such a beautiful peaceful place, the woods are my favourite place in the world 😊

You have more guts than I do - there's no way I'd be using my snowshoes anywhere near that dyneema! I was cringing watching you stamp down snow so near to your shelter. Great video though!

Thank you! Yeah, I probably should have been more careful haha. I'm used to thicker fabrics. I am really surprised by how sturdy the dyneema feels though!
I guess my tarp is my favorite light weight gear.

Bought two zinbivy bed bags for when me and wife go reenacting. Man those things sleep good in winter. Price not too bad. Too heavy for back packing though.

The location you chose do you have any fear of running into wild animals or are you completely safe no worries.
Nate, you were traveling light. The tent ⛺️ is opaque. Never seen one quite like that.

Takes a lot of snow to melt for a cup of water. Ratio is about 10 inches of snow to get one inch of water
