Hot Tent Camping In Deep Snow | Wood Stove Fajitas

Ойын-сауық

In this video I go hot tent camping in deep snow. This was my first time hot tent camping In such deep snow but I loved it! I dug a hole in the snow until I reached the ground at around 5 feet (1.5 meters). This hole would be my wood prep and fire pit area protected from the wind. Then I pitched my hot tent next to the hole and dug a staircase leading from the snow pit to the hot tent entrance. It was an exhausting day but sitting by the fire drinking my apple cider was worth it! I cooked steak fajitas on my wood stove and they turned out delicious. I hope you enjoy my hot tent camping adventure in deep snow!

Sort of. I didn't know they where there until I checked my trail cams later. Several deer, a black bear and a cougar all walked about 150 feet from my camp when I was prospecting. They looked in my direction and I am sure they knew I was there but soon just went on their way. No drama.

I was camping in my motorhome above lake Pleasant Arizona and I woke up to some noises outside so I looked out my bedroom window and gasped when I saw a wild Donkeys looking right back at me right there at my window! LOL!

This is serious folks, believe it or not. I can say from my experiences in extreme conditions, this is not just sipping coffee and whiskey by the fire. You need wood for the night, and that's hard work to do in deep snow. You are chopping wood and you are sweating. When you want to rest a little, you feel cold. Camping alone means hard work and it's really hard on the body. When it comes to minus 28 degrees, the fire is very important. Sometimes even the fire cannot fully heat up cause of the wind. Do not do this job without trusting yourself and your equipment. this guy does it well.

I have to make a suggestion nice lady. Watch as many videos as possible. Learn all you can about products and peoples skills and techniques. If you do things right and have a set up that works for you it’s a lot of fun. A stove will warm you up nice and make it a pleasant experience. Get a good sleep system so no matter what you are warm and safe. No people, no bugs, beautiful scenery, it can be real nice camping

I take way more gear than I need but I’m used to the weight from mountain climbing. This pack was 60 lbs which is about average for my trips. I was only about 1/4 - 1/2 mile from the car. Sometimes I’ll hike several miles but I prefer to stay closer in winter.
