Such a great duo. Tennis is so underrated that it’s criminal. I bought their new album today at a local record store and the employee said they are so great.
Their passion for the music they love is infectious. How can you not cheer for music fans of this level? Really cool.
Minnie Riperton... omg... everything she touched was brilliant, in particular, when she fronted the Chicago group, Rotary Connection. Her heavenly vocals on "If I Sing My Song" bathed in stellar orchestration and production values can't ever be replicated.
Alaina and Patrick are truly some of the sweetest, most incredible AND underrated artists working today, makes me so, so happy to see them do an episode!!!! Also, incredible new recommendations in here

I stumbled across them on a cracking Mojo cover CD called The Black Keys and Friends, and it was a song called It All Feels The Same. It’s a great song, poppy, really infectious. I really must check them out.

I love this band. My wife and I took our then 11 year old son to see them at Red Rocks for his first concert. Such a great band.

I saw my first concert at red rocks when I was 11 too!
I FREAKING LOVE TENNIS!! DIAMOND RINGS, ORIGINS, RUNNER SO MANY HIT SONGS!!
Legitimately might be my favourite band of the last few years and seeing them being such sweethearts is gorgeous. Lovely.
I really love the Amoeba channel. I've found a lot of great new artists and bands by listening to lots of other great artists talking about their favourite stuff. I found Tennis about 6 months ago by watching another Amoeba interview which was with one of my favourite humans, Matt Berry.
Yes! More love for Broadcast. One of my top 10 bands of all.
Laura Nyro ... have all her early albums. Great song writer! And vocalist. And great pick with Broadcast!! And Electric Prunes! Great psych.
So happy to hear them talking about the amazing Laura Nyro. They also have a few songs that mention her (Mean Streets, Runner)
Such a good band. So talented - possibly my favourite of the last few years and they seem lovely too!
Hello Good picks. I'm in my sixties, and I remember that song Too much to Dream by the Electric Prunes. It's a great trippy song. I like Minnie Ripperton she had an international hit with Lovin You in 1975. She sadly died in 1979 with cancer. I remember girl groups of the 1960s, the Shirelles, and others like the Crystal's, and the Ronettes. My favorite girl group were the Shangri Las. From Carl in New Zealand
I love them so much. They deserve so much more love with their beaming incredible music
For the first time someone chooses Eli and the thirteenth confession by the great Laura Nyro! I was waiting for this day haha. One of my fav albums of all time :)

big props for the built to spill, spiritualized, broadcast and bjork picks!
*Hooray for Tennis!* Not only do they make GREAT music but they just helped me find even MORE great music made by other people. This video was a GOLDMINE!
Really really truly great, pure artists. So happy to see this episode come up in my feed!
I'm so happy to see a local band from here in Denver doing so well...Can't wait to see them this spring!!!👍
I love Tennis! This was great! I love finding “new” music from my favorite artists. This was a real treasure on KZread! Thank you 🙏!
I love Laura Nyo's effect on Alaina, and now need to look deeper into her catalog on Alaina's recommendation. As a singer-songwriter myself, I'm grateful to Laura's inspiration now too because Alaina Moore helped me ever-perfect my own head voice begun by channeling Helen Reddy...not to mention my adoration for the clearly-divinely-inspired masterpiece "Mean Streets,".LOOOOOVE IT.
TENNIS is a great band! Been obsessed with them for about 5 years now, and their music is so good
You can hear the love of true fandom of music in their music. I can hear several of these artist’s influences in their music, especially the Shirelles.
great! lovely little stories about every pick
Props for representing Broadcast. Underrated band.
Can't wait to see them in LA. Of course miss girl is a Bjork fan!
So many great records. Another reason to love you guys!
Yessssss! So excited to see them, definitely one of my favorite bands
So excited for this, Pollen is great and so is Tennis in general!
wow! I loved all their cool anecdotes, and the sentiment! we need Doug from built to spill to do a "what's in my bag?"!

Talented. Thanks for making quality music.
I looooooove this band. Listen daily! I can certainly better appreciate, now that they've explained their influences, the quality of their music.
Love to see the love for "Keep It Like A Secret," just shows BtS can be anything they *want* to be. What a classic album.
Easily my favorite artist interview, thanks!
Recently just discovered these guys. Absolute love the style and especially in lets make a mistake tonight. Great band and people! And just found they are from Denver like me! Makes it even cooler!
First thought: AHHHHHHH! I want Amoeba! Second thought: Love them.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
Great choices. Loved this. Tender buttons one of my favorite records. Vespertine is the greatest album of all time.
Tennis is the most important band of my late 20s/early 30s. I know one day I'll look back fondly while listening to their albums.
i love THEM so much!! incredible sweet talented people, and music duo. even cuter that they're a married couple. they r so underrated
Oh man, I want that Built to spill bootleg, that was the best-sounded gig I have ever been to! I heard, not sure its true, but I heard Phil Ek was their sound engineer on that tour.
They picked up Pure Phase by Spiritualized .. One of the best albums of the 90's !! 💊 I ❤️ Tennis 🎾
Someone finally picked Built to Spill. I’ve waited so long for this. Best band ever
Come to my garden is a song I love but never really thought about. Going to listen again after this
I remember when heard tennis on KUNM college radio station in Albuquerque New Mexico and immediately went crate digging for them(tennis) and got excited to finding a tennis self titled CD and i was so happy to get home, dug out my CD/radio player out and it ended up being a CD about the history of the sport tennis 😳😂 , wasted 10 bucks .
Great band, great picks.
Tennis is incredible. I got tickets to see them in Pittsburgh THIS MONTH!! I'm so excited.
i wanna see her duet with Brian May of Queen (who still has his long curls, but they're silver / gray)!
really enjoyed this one
Come to my garden is an epic album start to finish.
Love Tennis.
Of course it’s mostly Alaina interacting with the crowd at shows, so it’s nice to see more of Pat! He has a great presence lol
They're both so cool.
Broadcast!!! Yaaay. Ha Ha Sound is top 10 all time for me, but this album is on point too. Glad I got to see them before Trish passed. 😢♥️♥️♥️

Still hits me in the guts, she was one in a trillion. They released an album posthumous with lots of her unreleased vocals, worth a spin.
Pagan Poetry!! Reminded me I have an Infusion unreleased version of that track that I've always loved .... and will definitely be checking out Tennis tomorrow!!
Great picks!!! RIP Trish Keenan.
Love how they talk about music, their taste & that they think Spiritualized is sexy haha
it’s amazing to see how many artist pick björk records when citing a lot of their influences.
Good tips! I'm picking up Jim Sullivan now.
amazing
The world is divided between those who have listened to and been brought under the spell of the amazing Tender Buttons and those who have not. My heart broke when Trish passed. Saw them at Koko London and was dream come true to see the dream pop monarchs live. Will def be checking Pollen out after this!👍 Loving the varied but full of personal stories choices.
Built to Spill is FUNDAMENTAL - great pick
They make great music and seems to be such nice people !!
I love you guys so much
These two have good taste.
i've added each and every track they brought up on spotify and i'm ready to achieve enlightenment
Yeah man! I want that bootleg you made of Built to Spill!
Aww, they love each other!❤❤
YESS!!!! I AM SO GLAD SHE IS TALKING ABOUT LAURA NYRO. SHE IS A SUPER UNDERRATED MUSICIAN AND SONGWRITER

Check out 'Gibraltar' from their new album "Pollen" and 'Matrimony II' from their last album "Swimmer". Two of their finest songs.
It's crazy, I love Tennis and I am a fan of about 90% of the albums they chose. :)
Oh Danny, I wasn’t at Coachella but I was floored watching it on livestream in the comfort of my home. Sooo thrilled you did it again and more at the Bowl. Please make it an annual event. Is fans can take a break from NBC and enjoy so much more! Such an INCREDIBLE performance!!
they're so lovely i adore tennis :')
Yes !! a Bjork fan !!!
love them
the way she looks at him ❤ so cute
Excellent band. Ritual in repeat is one of the greatest albums ever
i do neeeed the built to spill recording actually omg
Luv u so much, tennis!!! 🎾
Ahh Minnie's & Charlse Stepney's Masterpiece "come to my garden" I like these people already
So glad to see Tennis here! Such a great band with great taste in music!
I feel like I am back in 1973 listening to these two talk about pop records.
They are SO married lol. But a very cool What’s In My Bag episode. Thank you!
jennifer grey from ferris bueller is that you?
Tender Buttons - I don't know much about Broadcast but I know what a tender button is (and yes, GS)
Not Pet Sounds… more of a Third Eye Blind guy 😂 I respect it.
The entire Broadcast catalog is tremendous…..I bet they both flipped the first time they heard the first few bass bars on the track ‘Corporeal’ off of Tender Buttons. I know I did.
Keep it like a Secret is a masterpiece
Broadcast ❤
Never clicked on a video so fast
Nice couple.
Another Millennium obsessive. Love Tennis even more now!
Patrick Riley may as well write a book called, "How to figure out life," because he has. He reminds me of Peter Buck on many levels. The biggest difference being Patrick's singer creates MORE fans in interviews. Peter now spends his own interviews in damage control for his singer's interviews..
jim sullivan is a great choice!
I can’t stop listening to let’s make a mistake tonight. I sing at work.
