TENCH FISHING RIGS | NEW WATER TACTICS
Спорт
Within this video we look at Tench Fishing Rigs and how I use them on a new water. It sometimes takes a few sessions to get into a new venue and eventually the winning tactics absolutely tore this place apart on a crazy afternoon session. We had a really good hit of large Tench which was actually repeated again just a few days later.
I was feeder fishing with Krill & Squid Groundbait, 2mm Krill Pellets and Crush Hemp. The rigs were my ever faithful Worm Kebab Rigs. Baiting accurately with maggots and casters using a Spomb just kept the bites coming until the Tench eventually cleared me out!
Please note that Mill Lane is controlled by Farnham Angling Society.
Tackle by Korum. Bait by Sonubaits.
Thanks for checking out the video.

I think you’re right. The spod often doesn’t bother them at all. Quite the opposite. Have you even found this in shallow water?
@stephenholland132
3 жыл бұрын
@@Lifeonthebank yes, if they are preoccupied by food you can literally walk amongst them. A water I used to bailiff had loads of tench. When we were thinning out excess reeds, we'd have tench bumping us as the water clouded up. We could cast a bait in after and still catch. That's why raking is so effective, tench are the first to respond to noise.

Great Vid. A quick question regarding your heli rig, I noticed you have you rods quite high off the ground, do you worry that the angle of the line will be lifting the bait off the deck? I use the same rig and always have the tips under the water or back leads to make sure everything is pinned down.
@Lifeonthebank
3 жыл бұрын
Very good point. At that range I was fine as long as my lines arn’t bow string tight. If you’re fishing closer in then yes, get the rod tips down and maybe even consider the heavy leaders that I run through in the vid 👍 Thanks for checking it out!
Hi mate great vid what rods are you using
Thank you for another inspirational video! I’ve done some legering for tench (for med it’s been mostly the lift method and pole for tench). I think I’ve got to do some spoding to be able to get some baits out there. What Spod size, rod and reel do you use? Many thanks and all best from Sweden! //Marcus
@Lifeonthebank
3 жыл бұрын
You need a stiff rod for spodding. I use an old Nash Outlaw Spod Rod, 4lb Test. Big pit reel with 35lb braid. In this video a medium size Spod. I hope that helps!!!

Great video. 🎣👍👍 Aren't the worms eaten by small fish? How do I prevent that? 🤔
@Lifeonthebank
3 жыл бұрын
A very, very good point. My suggestion is to try it. If you’re plagued by nuisance fish then come off the worms and onto corn, pellets or small boilies. Worms are great for Tench in early spring before the nuisance fish wake up but then you’re forced to switch as things warm up. I hope that helps 👍👍👍

I understand mate you’re a nice person but when it comes to fishing there is no friends unfortunately but don’t feel like you’ve done anything wrong as he is the one to blame Keep the videos coming #Sleep
Quick question, why do you add half a rod length further than your spod?
@Lifeonthebank
2 жыл бұрын
If you think about it the baited rod will swing in towards you as it falls through the water (once it hits the clip). Of course the spod doesn’t fall through the water at all. Make sense? Becomes more of an issue if the water is deep. I wouldn’t worry about this if the water is less than 5ft. Hope that explains it 👍
