So many hidden cameos in this one. •Dave Grohl - Satan •John C Reilly - Sasquatch •Tim Robbins - The Hobo Stranger •Amy Adams - Woman who mouths “I love you” during Master Exploder song. •Amy Poehler - Waitress •Meatloaf - JB’s Dad

Jack Black's parent's being unsupportive was made up for the film. In reality, his parents were insanely supportive (and his mom was a genius from NASA).

So is "Observe and Report" Seth Rogen best movie ever. Those are my 2 favorite movies.
My favorite scene is John C Riley playing the Sasquatch and Jack Black is baby Squatch😂 When he realizes he's not in the strawberry river and he's actually in a raging rapid I die every time😂
Fun fact: Jack Black's real-life mom was an accomplished NASA engineer. She was instrumental in the design of the guidance computer used in the Apollo program (she designed the Lunar Module abort guidance computer featured in APOLLO 13). His mother's name was Judith Love Cohen.

Yet they can't explain it in modern times when asked... did it even happen if they " lost " the knowledge of the Lunar landers.
I can neither confirm nor deny the rumor that Ronnie James Dio blew out the mic that production had set up for him, luckily, he brought his own, which was of higher quality.
They couldnt put tribute in the film, this film is the tale of tribute, which makes the movie album a prequel to their first album... So this album was essentially before their first album? My mind has been blown...
@Swenglish

There was also a rough early version of Tribute (and a few other ideas that were used on their first album and in this movie) in their short lived HBO show.

seems to be a trend with the best cult movies out there.. they all seem to have initially flopped for some reason, just for it to suddenly hit some stride and become a cult classic. iirc same thing happened with Dogma, Donnie Darko, fight club, scott pilgrim (movie), idiocracy (not my personal cult fave but many love it), and even the big lebowski (that one blows my mind bc its incredible).

I can't remember it was either before or after Glullivers Travels with Jack Black, and it was kind of mid. Speaking of, I need to finish Brutal Legend at some point.
you know before this movie, they actually had a tenacious D HBO show, im pretty sure all the episodes are still on youtube and they're well worth the watch!
I’m so glad you enjoyed this movie. This was my buddy and mines favorite movie when we were in high school. We had the movie down where we would recite the entire movie. Brings back lots of memories
An absolute Musical Comedy Classic. Tenacious D are an awesome band and this movie captures their energy perfectly. Also, gotta love Dave Grohl as The Devil.
15 year old me watched this movie with my mother in cinema. She wasn't too big of a fan about the story. But the music is great. And to this day, whenever we see someone on drugs in movies we reference the strawberry river. Bonding with your mother with this movie.
To many people know jack black from movies. I knew him FIRST as Tenacious D. These 2 have been doing music for a long time!! ❤❤

I don’t think I’ve ever seen you laugh this hard and this much in a reaction video before 😂
My friend was a fan of Tenacious D and would never stop talking about them but I only listened to a couple of songs and my english was not great, so I never really got it. Then this movie came out and he got me to watch it. It's SO GOOD. One of the movies that got me to branch out to watch all types of stuff and actually learn english, because most of them never got proper releases over here
My husband and I watched this on our first date way back like 16 years ago. He chose it to show to me. A weird first date movie but I absolutely love him for it. We have a fondness for comedy music. We went and saw Tenacious D two summers ago in concert. Best concert ever.

Tenacious D tours in Australia now and then
Me and a friend of mine would quite literally watch this movie religiously and die laughing everytime. I'm not even lying, me and her would watch it everytime we hung out and just marvel at even the small funny moments. One of our favorites is JB singing to himself about joining the Kyle Glass Project...Maybe. And before that he tosses a dishrag trying to catch it behind him and completely fails in doing so. I still have no idea why that moment tickled our funny bones so much but we would rewind that scene endlessly and collapse in laughter. Another shout out goes to the lyric, "2 air ducts on the roof, that's what the guy was talkin' aaaashit!" Once again dead laughing.
It’s so funny and ironic that the Dad yelling at him is Rock N Roll Legend Meatloaf.

I love that you loved this so much! It has so much replayability. The songs help it alot

Mary i got to tell you something ever since your Vietnam trip, and you're literally glowing. It's good to see you enjoying life. It's like you're on some sort of therapeutic retreat
Tenacious D is amazing. They're awesome live too. Jack is so talented
When this movie first came out most of my friends and classmates were talking about how amazing and hilarious it was. So me and a buddy who hadn't seen it went to the movies and were not at all disappointed 😂. Probably the best comedy movie I've seen in theatres, and I've seen ALOT of movies in theatres.
12:56 Best fit of laughter I may have ever seen in a reaction, that was awesome.
This movie is by far one of my favorite movies of all time! When it first came out, my husband and I loved it, then our teens loved it! It became our family movie, where we all sang and had a great time! One of my babies stopped crying when he heard this movie start lol
Your reaction to this video, and the fact that this is your favorite movie now, is the reason i just fell in love with you!
School of Rock was directed by Richard Linklater who also directed 'Dazed and Confused'.
Tenacious D came here to Vegas at a indie record store called Benway Bop back in the mid 90's. I was too young to go, but all my friends were talking about it. I remember feeling the FOMO, and still feel it today. Mind blowing how long they have been around and how they finally found success!
Can we give it up for the kid playing Young Jables in the beginning? He's totally believable as a young Jack Black.

Holy shit I love, love, love that you not only reacted to this but that you loved it too!!! This is one of my favorite movies ever and the song Tribute is probably my favorite song ever. I never thought you'd ever react to this!!
The fact that this whole movie was the lead up to the _actual_ song that their song Tribute was a tribute to is just amazing :D one of my favorite movies of all times

The Dio part in the Kickapoo song was incredible!
Please watch their music video "Wonder Boy" You will hear Jack's vocals without any silliness. Amazing vocals in this song.

So, there's an underrated movie from 2002 called Orange County, the main characters of the movie are brothers, one played by Colin Hanks and the other olayed by Jack Black. It's also got cameos by Ben Stiller and Kyle Gass.

Glad you liked the movie. Tenacious D has some great music so I'd recommend checking out more of theirs. Their songs are funny and sound amazing at the same time.
Yet again you are proven to be the chosen one to lead the masses to the great literature of film. Amazing reaction to one of my favourite movies as well. Such a great group of cameos as well in this film. Thank you for your reaction. 😃

Hey Mary Cherry, have you heard of the new HBO show about the Vietnamese perspective of the War (North Vietnamese spy), it’s called ‘The Sympathizer.’ It’s directed by Park Chan Wook (Old Boy, Handmaiden), and it’s really a good show so far.

Omg Mary you just look better and better!🙂💯 you’re such a stone FOx 🙂💯
Rockn & freakn rolling!
I'm just glad JB and this film put some much-deserved attention and spotlight on the late, great Ronald James Padovona, aka Ronnie James Dio. Dio was my first ever arena concert back in the day, touring for Sacred Heart at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. 30 foot fire breathing dragon, laser swords, the whole shebang. Still one of the best concerts I've ever attended. RJD's stuff with Black Sabbath - especially Heaven and Hell - is actually close to being my favorite of their catalog. METAL! \m/,
Came back for a rewatch, just to see 12:58 again. LOL
LOVED this movie, hope they make a sequal (I think there have been some "talk" about just that) 🤪
you need to watch Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story - it's really funny and also continues with music theme
So many great songs from one of my favorite bands, and one of my favorite actors.
This film is an absolute classic for me and my friends. We've had multiple sing alongs for the film and album soundtrack.
I'm so glad I made it to this premiere 😅 Probably my favorite reaction of yours now 🎉
Nice reaction Mary, funny movie 🥰❤️🔥
That red shower curtain with the green diamonds on it when he's singing in the football helmet... I literally have that same shower curtain right now. Weird thing for me to notice but there it is.
:) Watching you laugh so much is the greatest treat
"The Complete Masterworks" is their first album. It's loaded with great tracks.
saw this in the cinema and could not stop laughing the entire way through. i mean, actually crying. i had to try and keep it together but i couldnt at all. thought it would be fun but i wasnt ready!
Watching Mary have so much fun is, well, so much fun 🙏
The gang that attacks JB on the bench is a blatant reference to A CLOCKWORK ORANGE - which is a MUST SEE.
When this movie came out i was in highschool and EVERYONE loved the entire album, the songs in this movie are fuckin awesome lol
This was the most enjoyable i ever seen from u! Lol this movie is incredibly awesome and hilarious!! So glad u were able 2 watch it
In the last act, the rock-off with Satan, sounds like it may be an homage to Charlie Daniel's 1979 song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" where Johnny played his fiddle well enough to win a "golden fiddle" or lose his soul. I haven't heard if that might be the case but it is a classic 70s story telling song.
I think the name Tenacious D came from someone announcing a football game, talking about a team’s defense. Took me FOREVER to find out about the very short HBO series “Tenacious D” that came out before the movie. I thought the movie was a stand alone thing up until a couple years ago.
Wasn’t expecting this but very thankful. This reaction made me so happy. One of my fav movies lol. You say it’s your fave too? Subbed. Now if we can get you to watch some more Seinfeld you would complete me.
12:47 BEST laugh ever!
