No nonsense, no filler, not a dull moment and as demonstrated in the Tekoi Trilogy, he *readily admits when he is wrong* (the importance of which is not to be understated). Every video made with care and a clear passion for even the most obscure of topics. Watching through a lot of his videos, every video is distinct, the only truly common threads being Grey’s fantastic presentation style, and the consistently spectacular quality. When a new Grey video drops, it is consistently the highlight of my *week.* Hats off to Grey and the team!

Agreed, and I thought that's what he was going to go for. Especially given enough examples, human personality will inevitably CREATE a theme. A solid chunk of all relationships is shared interest in topics, or interest in someone else's interest in a topic, stuff like that. Para-social relationships can work the same way, and they sort of do here. We like Grey because we like the stuff he likes, or we like to see him present information because his personality jives with us. Maybe we like his presentation style, maybe we enjoy watching him talk about stuff he enjoys because his enthusiasm comes out, maybe we like the stuff he talks about and want to learn more, or maybe we never would have even given a certain topic much thought if he hadn't talked about it. Whatever the reason is it's all tied together. Grey is going with the most organic, natural theme of all.

Really really glad someone else understands the struggle of teachers demanding you to stare them down for 90 minutes each day. Most lectures are visually uninteresting - you really don't have to look at the teacher the whole time in order to pay attention. Glad you took that into consideration when teaching.

I agree completly. As a more personal story I tend to stare around when I am taking tests, not to cheat but to simply get a new perspective of the room. One time a teacher almost reported me for cheating.

I am one of the teenagers who have watched your content for about half her life. My twentieth birthday is tomorrow, and I remember watching the video about the UK in class in like sixth grade. I also remember showing it to my brother, and we have since watched all your videos. Your videos have often sparked really interesting topics of conversation for me and my friends. I am grateful.

I remember being in 7th grade and watching the jury nullification video in the locker room of my gym class. I didn’t have headphones with me and I didn’t want people to make fun of me for being a nerd so I put it on volume 2 on my IPod touch and alternately held the video up to my ear or watched subtitles. I haven't watched Grey for ten years but I discovered the channel a few years back and come back to it from time to time. This period is one of those times. That last thank you felt so really and just want to give him a hug now

I didn’t expect it to get so deep so casually and so easily, I didn’t expect for this qna to be so interesting or get something out of it and yet… every time you had upload something, or find one recommend to me, it has always been at the right moment in my life, feeling like you just taught me a life lesson that is recently important to me, regardless if it was upload it that week or last month. For example, when you uploaded the video of how to be the most miserable, I was at one of my lowest points, I was doing every single thing on that it was said on that video unconsciously for several months before the upload date because I was merely a tumble weed at the mercy of the wind of my hormones and what was going on around me at home, then I saw it, and it helped me find what I were things I could and needed to fix, I was able to talk to my psychologist more clearly why I was so trapped I that vicious depression cycle. I’m still a mess to this day, but I’m less of a mess than I was before, so thank you.

On the topic of that Patreon video: At the time, I was still a university student without the resources to support you and express permission to not do so from yourself. Well, some amount of years later, I finished my degree and have every intent of supporting you - since it was you who introduced me to educational KZread in general and my now-hobby of studying both history and geopolitics through your Rules for Rulers video.

I remember watching your what's the UK video in English class in my third year in High School (I think?), but it feels much longer than 10 years. While only 25, it does feel like I have been watching your videos for most of my life. I have since watched (most of - I always feel like I miss some of them, while I watched others as many times as you have videos uploaded- ) all your videos. For all the interesting tidbits of knowledge illuminated by you, I really must thank you. Thank you for 10 years worth of content and learning new thinks. (PS: that one driving video was honestly horrifying, I literally had nightmares about that one. I working towards my drivers license right now and it has made it much harder to driver relaxelly...)

Agreed, to say CGP Grey has been more impactful than most of the physical people I encounter in life is certainly true.

That last bit is why I love you Grey. You've got such a heart.

I started watching this channel around 2013 or 2012 I remember you having a few thousand subs (I think? Keeping track of subs was the last thing on my mind) so I have watched this channel for half my life so far plus a year or two.

Grey actually showing an emotion beside glee and fury at the end deserves a Patreon subscription. Edit: it's been long overdue on my part 😅

The ending remimdes me of pbs kids when they say "this program is possible because of contributions to your pbs station by viewers like you. Thank you

"Viewers like you" is actually PBS policy; it must be in every funding credit -- though they want it first, and I tend to think it goes better last, myself...

I am not a very sentimental person, but the regularity Grey gets water in my eyes is truely frightening. For such a fact driven channel the creator succeeds in getting emotional at the most surprising times.

I feel with you. I thought about this a lot, and I think it is because Grey is so undeniably human and open.

I have loved your videos since i started watching many years ago (not necessarily 10 years) and look forward to all your videos in the future.

looking back at this that thank you seemed so genuine that it's somewhat uncanny compared to all the other youtubers

As a math teacher, I don't really want my students to look me in the eye; I want them to look at what I'm pointing to on the board. If occasionally I just stand up and talk without anything on the board to point at, then I wave my arms around, and if there's anything worth looking at at that time, then it's probably my hands.
