As a retired teacher who witnessed the removal of cursive writing in my district, I couldn’t agree with you more. There is an educational development between the mind and the hand that no amount of computer skills can teach.

So true about those shared family trees. I spent a lot of time separating an ancestor from some other guy with the same name and lived in the same are. They had merged them into one poligamist guy who never existed.

I just want to point out the the common core standards were not a federal imposition on the 50 states by the federal government. They were developed by the National Governor's Association and a group of state school officers who saw a need for language arts and mathematics standards for all 50 states!!

California is re-adding cursive to the common core standards very soon. 😊 Next year?
