Ten reasons why people resist CHANGE in the workplace?
Why do people resist change? In this video Paul Robinson (www.paulrobinson.in) talks about the reasons behind employees resisting change.
The world is constantly evolving and organizations need to transform to keep up with that pace of change. When the pace of change outside an organization gets faster than the pace of change inside an organization, most organizations tend to go extinct. Change, reinvention and transformation are part of the new normal today. If you want to stay relevant in these changing times you must take steps to change before you have to.
Most people resist change. Change makes them uncomfortable. Most people prefer predictability and stability over something unknown.
Here are the ten reasons why employees resist change.
1. Loss of Job security/control
2. Shock and Fear of the Unknown
3. Lack of Competence
4. Poor Timing
5. Lack of Reward
6. Office Politics
7. Loss of Support System
8. Former Change Experience
9. Lack of trust and support
10. Peer pressure

Nothing more annoying when your boss want to change something good and make it worse just to say he accomplished something.
Important: Every change must be followed by a time of stability, in which a profit is extracted. If you have "constant change",then you will become unprofitable. ... And burn through your employees.
