I guess evangelizing is a bit like being a police and a doctor: * The police convicts you of your crimes and arrests you: The evangelist brings the schoolmaster of the ten commandments to convict your conscience so that you understand that you have broken the law. * The doctor tells the patient that he is sick and then tells him about the cure.

Yep, and the Bible uses both as analogies although it uses the word "physician" in the KJV for the second and it's just the general idea of the "law" and etc for the first.

I don't think Ray preaches this anymore. The Ten Commandments do not crucify us with Christ. The Law does not make us new. It kills us in the sense that it shows us we are dead to righteousness. It punctures our pride. It cannot save. Trusting Christ saves us. The Law shows us we need to. That is the message Ray now preaches.

@@GrahameChristianGould understandable, check it out. It’s beautiful teaching on how the law exposes the sinner so they know they need a savior and to put there faith and faith alone in the finished work of Christ

Are you a Good Person? Let’s check and see! Have you ever lied? Or have you ever stolen? (Even if it’s small) Now, have you ever taken the Lord's Name in vain? Or have you ever hated anyone? If you have ever done any of those things, you would be either a liar, a thief, a blasphemer(for taking Gods Name in vain), or a murderer (for hating someone. See 1 John 3:15 in the Bible) or maybe even all of them. And that was only some of the Ten Commandments. Therefore God’s Standard of righteousness is very high. The Bible also seems to basically tell us that if we’ve just broken one point of the Law, we’re guilty of breaking the whole Law. (James 2:10) So we have all sinned against God and therefore we deserve death. (Romans 3:23 & 6:23) None of us are good, or good people. In other words, let’s say that I broke the law, and I’m in court. And according to the judge, I am to be sentenced to a certain amount of time in jail. But If someone pays my fine, I can walk out of that courtroom freely. Now, Someone stepped into that courtroom and payed my fine. Now I can walk out freely, without being sentenced. We are all criminals through sin, and we deserve Hell. Yet Christ payed our fine, and now through Repentance, which is a change of mind about sin (from an embrace of sin to rejection of sin/a sense of awareness of one’s own guilt, sinfulness, and helplessness, and a turning to God) And by FAITH in CHRIST we can be Saved. So, it’s not by our “good works” that we are Saved, as Catholicism may state. But instead, it’s by Repentance and Faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9) And, once you are Saved, you don’t continue to live following the evil ways of sin. But you instead live following the righteous ways of Christ.
