Always love a new episode; to think this could’ve stopped at 10 episodes, and yet we got 126 and counting. Can’t wait to listen. Also, can’t wait for an animated Grey-Bot running around with a shoebox of microphones.

At the end of the episode, Grey mentioned how the amount KZread was recommending his video was changing wildly based on what numbers he put in the title. That sounds sounds like an overfit neural network. It's what happens when a neural network loses sight of general patterns and becomes obsessed with tiny details. It comes from being given too small of a pool of training data.

Hey Myke, there are plenty of people that use headphones with only one ear covered. Some people just prefer it that way. Not just DJs queueing up the next track, but plenty of people who are recording audio, musicians in the studio, voice actors, etc.

When it is a back and forth you should have both sides, you can config the audio to have your mic in one ear if you need to hear yourself at all.

I love this. you can hear Myke slowly getting more exasperated and amused all at the same time.

Myke - I'm still listening to the intro. Now you have BOTH of Greys ears, I soooo want you to start playing with the stereo dial :D

Cortex is the first podcast I have ever listed to and that was because it is on KZread. I was a fan of Grey and his email list included the podcast. So I started on episode 1 and went through them all in order.

The opening is the best :D

The opening with Grey not knowing he can just make his mic sound in one ear of the headphones while having both sides on so he can hear the rest with both ears.

This podcast gives me life

I'd just turn on ambient mode on my noise cancelling earphones. That way you get room and mix in both ears. But it sounds like Grey can isolate what comes out of one ear vs. the other in a way that I (and I suspect Myke) cannot. If he can just listen to one ear at a time, then I can understand why Grey finds his method superior. That said, there is something to be said for learning how your voice sounds to others and getting used to that.

The cortex animated is what got me to recently learn about the podcast

I use a USB power bank quite a lot when travelling. Sometimes on long flights, but mostly in the evenings to recharge a device while still using it when moving around, or sitting outside, or in a place with inconveniently positioned sockets. Or when theft is a risk in the place that I have an opportunity to recharge from mains power (would rather lose a power bank).

KZread did indeed just start showing me the animated videos and that's how I learned of this podcast.

First time listening to this, odd but unique begunning xD

The first 20 minutes are grey and mike gaslighting each other about the sudio set up

Haha the opening discussion is a new angle on the one or two IEM in method in the music industry. Funny to listen to this outside of the music space

Myke talking about previously talking to Grey about the Neumann microphone 🎤, for a moment was like a glitch in the matrix had occurred. The level of frustration that creeps into Myke’s voice just gets me every time and this particular episode does not disappoint.

Just be normal... I dunno if Grey can do that

I wonder if Grey has tried open-back headphones, perhaps that would sound more natural to him?

Oh god I just now got that the cutout at the back of the cases is for a pop socket. I always thought it was just to flex with the Apple logo...

Most of the time I identify more with Grey than Myke... until they start talking about audio equipment, at which point I feel Myke's pain every step of the way.

I feel like the first part of the episode is totally the mandela effect

You know, funny story, Linus has a backpack coming out soon that really seems to tick all the boxes.

I have never felt less like the target market than when the selling point of a phone case is "it won't fit in your pocket"

What about a usbc dongle with power delivery?

Having been one of the people who showed up based off of the progress bar video, I can confirm to me I clicked it because I saw oh there's a new Grey video I missed? Huh better go watch it, and I think when you have a high click rate it will keep showing it.

The gray way is the superior way

There is a red line below videos to tell you if you've watched them. And I watched the "Why is this still happening?" video because I recognized Tiffany and Grey. Otherwise, the title seemed somewhat clickbait, not actually telling me what the video was about while enticing me to find out.

The lack of a number system on these made it sooo confusing to know if I was caught up or not

KZread is not a publishing company, because those companies take full responsibility if they publish something breaking copyright laws or laws on content advisory like the MPAA rating PG-13 or R.

When we speak our ears are sensitive to all sorts of vibration. The key differences between listening to your voice as it comes through a microphone is that your ears aren't picking up the vibrations of your bones from your jaw and skull as you talk, which can make ones voice feel foreign and uncomfortable when using the Myke method of podcast recording

Get a rode podmic I’ve used it over a year now and it’s the most accurate to how I think I sound and it’s isn’t finicky

To mike and grey. try the Linus Tech tips bag as an every day bag

Why not just buy a USB-C to A adapter (not cable) for the toothbrush, making it also a USB-C device?
