Temple of Esther & Mordechai - Short Film

The iconic & legendary character of "Esther" (Star), the Persian Queen, and the historical significance of the Temple of Esther & Mordechai in the City of Hamedan... A search of a non-Jewish Iranian filmmaker in the pages of the Persian cultural heritage & mythology relating to Esther, who is regarded as a savior of the Persian Jews. Today, the Iranian Jews are known as the children of Esther.

I was so moved by this film. I am the daughter of a German Jewish Holocaust survivor. I never knew my father's family, only my grandmother, one of the few survivors of her siblings. That genocide has affected generations, even my children are affected now. There is a very old love and friendship between the Persians and the Jews - how can we ever forget what Cyrus did, his compassion and nobility of spirit? I pray for the spirit of Cyrus to sweep over Iran and resurrect the noble nation of old.

My late husband and his family originated in Hamedan, although they have been settled in Israel since the 1930s. If I am not mistaken it was believed that the family - known as Shoshani (and not Levy as today) were the Shomrim - guards - of this tomb. I am grateful for the opportunity to see the site which has become a legendary part of the family's history and to enable as many of the living offspring to also enjoy the virtual visit. I'm not a Jew, but my greatgrandfather was a Jew & his family name was Soesan which means his earlier ancestors (and mine as well) came from the ancient city of Susa (now Shush in Iran). Someday I hope to visit the sites my ancestors dwelled centuries ago. May I thank you for this video...??? Finally a video which is neutral to any political influence from either Iranian or Israëli propaganda. Great job, keep going... ;-)

I’m a Muslim male from Bahrain visited Hamadan West of Iran to see Ghar Ali Sandra (غار علي صد را) a fascinating water cave which is about 14 KM(8.7 miles) with Stalagmite and Stalactite. Although quite old dating back to the reign of Darius 521-485 BC it was rediscovered in 1963 by Iranian mountaineers. While there I learnt of the Temple of Ester & Mordecai which I made a point to visit. I was fascinated with this archaic humble building housing the two great tombs draped in colorful fabrics similar to Muslim tombs particularly in Bahrain. The building that dates back to Mogul era or perhaps longer was kept immaculate and in good structural condition. It’s walls were ornate with various Hebrew inscription particularly “The Ten Commandments” in English. What struck me was the ancient stone door about 1 M by 0.5 M that allowed only one person to enter at a time while stooping. I wonder if that was deliberate gesture ,as the sign of respect to the entombed .This is an amazing historical site that brings Muslims,Jews,Cristians and Zoroastrians together and worth visiting as Hamadan as many famous poets such as Baba Tahir Oryan and The great Abu Ali Sina(Avicenna) the most significant Physician, astronomer, thinker ,writer and the father of early modern medicine are buried there.

My last name is Sosa, possibly derived from Susa as well, although it could very well be a marrano Jewish Sephardic last name resembling the sound of a Spanish word for 'tasteless', as my father revealed to me when I was around 13 that 'our family were almost certainly Spanish Jews from Leon' (in Spain).

Excellent and magnificent work Kambiz Tazarv! Soony Salvador, the ignorance of you do boast is complete cynicism, do not know or does not give you the desire to know that the only Jewish state in the world: Israel, living and all religious expressions are respected, but especially the Muslim and Christian with all its monuments, historic sites, churches, mosques, etc.. no matching possible in Islamist countries to Judaism and the Jewish world, where we are persecuted, questioned, identified, driven not only by Islamist countries but also the old, stale Europe anti-Semitic and even countries with genocidal dictators Latin America ... so read a little before opening your mouth and talking nonsense and stupidity ...

Not in Iran. I always tell my Jewish friend that even at this time if all the world turns against you Iran is the only country that all the Jews can immigrate and live freely like so many time they did trough history. Jews are loved by Iranian and no one even will ask you what is your religion. Some people have their opinion against Zionism which is totally different than Judaism but the same people in Iran if they see you have to face genocide would rise and save you and give you a home to live and feel safe!!!! Iran is weird place, love and emotion are in extreme shape. It would be funny for you but the only country in the planet that Jews feel 100% safe even more than Israel is Iran.

Are not the same tribes of ppl still living in these regions for thousands of years to this very day?? You don’t have to have to be “melanin” in order to live in hot and sunny regions. It’s so funny how ppl like you refuse to see what’s right n your face. Or how about the fact that many other ethnicities have lived and do live in African regions that aren’t from African? It’s like saying “African ppl cannot live in any regions besides Africa” And just for your information,, Iran is not Africa. Why do you BHI want to claim every single nation but your own?? You say “We ruled this nation and that nation, and we are the only ppl written about in the Bible” These kinds of attitudes and talks are nothing more than tyrannical delusions. What’s sad is the ppl from Africa are a beautiful and humble ppl and they say absolutely the opposite of rantings like yours. They are embarrassed and ashamed by your haughty and reckless attitudes and behaviors. Like I said, you’ll claim to be the founders and rulers of every single county on earth yet completely ignore the rich history and cultures of Africa, denying them as your heritage and ancestors. And the ppl from the tribes of Africa know where they came from and who they are and they are mighty proud, and this anyone can admire as they don’t feel the need to claim to be something or someone they are not.
