It is interesting when she is talking about her experience in Hamadan she says a Muslim, rather than an Iranian, gave her the directions. It is obvious she sees the people as identified by their perceived religion, rather than any other parameter, such as nationality. I think if you ask an Iranian "what are you", 10 out of 10 times you'll get: "Iranian".

To be specific, she was talking about the differences between the Jews in Iran and the Muslims in Iran. They're all Iranian. The only way to discern is their religion. Iran makes VERY sure the religious identity is always present.

She is a religious (Jewish) conservative and sees things through that lens. It's almost impossible to expect a rational/secular view of a society by a religious person, for instance to think that there could be atheist/agnostic Iranians, or that the people on the street could be Bahaii, Zoroastrian, Christian, Yezidi... For her, you're either Jewish or non-Jewish (in this case Muslim)!

Come over to Iran then. it's very easy. remember to talk to some iranians before you come about the places that are nice to visit. I suggest you go to north and there's a town called "Sarein" in which you get to swim in natural warm springs in winter in pools with no ceilings while it snows heavily on your head!

It's Interesting that Jews can practice their religion more freely in Iran compare to Sweden. Kosher Butchers and restaurants are banned in Sweden but they operate freely in Iran. This is one the things that western media will never share with their audience because it will contradict with the negative image that they try to picture of Iran.

I'm a Muslim and i'm from Bangladesh and I really am happy to see Jews people are living happily Iran.I saw an interview there the jewish man say "He has been to America and there's antisemitism and also he complained about the gun law,but he said he never felt insecure or felt antisemitism in Iran". And an Iranian Jews community leader said that their synagogue are more safer in Iran than US or Europe.

I would love to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran and to learn the Persian language as well. Iran looks so beautifull and so well manage it will be an honor to visit a country that has so much history.

Why is the commandment "Remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt" [Deuteronomy 5:15] NOT included/enumerated in those depictions of the Ten Commandments Tablets of Moses that are in every synagogue and every siddur prayer book when the Torah says that commandment WAS inscribed on those Tablets?

A Canadian friend of mine traveled to Israel not long ago , but just because he has Arabic/Islamic sounding name, was questioned and scrutinized at the airport for hours, and was told to avoid traveling to certain cities or areas.He said heavy military presence everywhere, made the trip very Unpleasant!

As a tourist, you are not watched and traced everywhere in Iran. You are not obliged to have a 'translator' either. You can confirm this fact from thousands of tourists who go to Iran, without being forced to be accompanied by a 'translator'.

It is not the Sikh Khanda but a relatively new Iranian symbol, dating from 1980, as explained in the Wikipedia entry on "Emblem of Iran".

You were not able to freely speak to Iranians and get a feel of how many Iranians actually feel, which is that many are perfectly okay with things like gay people and western culture. +James 123 the part where she says she had a "goverment translator" all the time with her and that she had to ask if she can take pictures , talk to people , go to places etc and then implying that the translator might have been undercover etc @ 5:00 she says that people werent suffering as she saw but then says it was a controlled pictures presented to her and she wasnt free to talk, etc implying that probably the government is hiding the real picture etc , these are all bullshit believe me watch other documentaries made on Iran . A translator is not required , u can just do what ever u want there , Iran as free as any european country once u r inside u may chose or not to have a translator , u can chose to go and stay in any hotel u want and u can take photos or talk to anyone u want , Iran isnt like North Korea in which tourists are restricted to government predetermined destinations like Pyonyang , DMZ , model villages and cant take pictures of poor people etc . Except for maybe Military installations etc u can go wherever u want , talk to whomever u want , take pictures of anything , stay in any hotel etc , go to any city , town village. Just check other documentaries and u will find out what I said

+Muhammad Saeed Western journalists always have a "translator" with them. None of that is made up. Every single documentary film shows the same as well. Are you a western journalist? Are you one of the translators? How would you know who was and who wasn't with her? She's not just a tourist. She went on a journalist visa. That's why she was allowed to enter even though she's been to Israel and why she was invited to the Supreme Leader's home.

as an Iranian i believe she almost spoke honestly but she could not express her feelings or her views about Iran in an Israeli Tv just like she could not do the same in iran . i felt like there is a same situation in Iran and in Israel . a person can not freely speak about the other side .

this lady has clearly elaborated what democracy is all about, each person has democracy as per his or her view. The West MUST stop forcing the rest of the world to see Western democracy as the best to be followed

At times it seems she doesn't know what she's talking about. Iranian PEOPLE are not afraid of "Western disease" as she puts it (around 10:30). The ruling class of course are, but the everyday people (especially in large cities) want a secular democracy that respects political and social liberty of individuals, parties, groups, etc. And they DO want to be connected to the rest of the world and all that...However, they believe such major changes can only be attained by the Iranians themselves (which means absolutely no foreign intervention/aids/etc.) She might view this as nationalistic, but it is not. It's actually pragmatistic. Democracy is something to be achieved by the people, not something to be dumped onto them. History has shown this repeatedly.
