After crushing his Mamluk rivals, Sultan Baibars turns his armies against the Crusader States, which occupy the coast of the Holy Land. The Crusader States are dwarfed by the massive Mamluk Empire, and dangerously outnumbered by their armies. But crusader castles are powerful, their warriors capable and determined. At the forefront of the Crusaders are the military orders, especially the Knights Templar and the Knights Hospitaller. Can Baibars overcome these courageous warrior monks? Will his vast legions, even with the advantage of numbers, be able to deal with Templar determination? This is truly a clash of the best against the best. The Mamluks are outstanding cavalry fighters, vanquishers of the Mongols at the Battle of Ain Jalut. But the Templars are led by Grand Master William of Beauju, a pious leader who fights alongside his knights, who will not yield in the face of overwhelming odds. It was the Templars who had been key in many of the crusaders’ critical victories against Saladin.

I am keen to know my family history as I didn't even see or meet my grandparents before they died and my parents divorced early so all I know is that my parents were born in Holland in 1940 and migrated to Australia in the mid 60,s. @@eldeebcampeadorThe battle of Chaul occured before the Battle of Diu. Lourenço was the son of Francisco, the man who would avenge his death at the battle of Diu. The Mameluks were destroyed, only 20 were allowed to keep their lives. The mameluk defeat was so great that the sultanate would be conquered by the ottomans given the crisis caused by loosing direct trade with the indian ocean. Cry about it saracen.
A really well researched and engaging documentary.

Well done, atta boy!
I just want to say the nights Templar in my book has my respect even though they lost the holy land, they were outnumbered and fought to the bitter end, some of them, and planning to retake the whole land. They were killed by the French king, what a lowlife.

He never had to face the crusaders on even terms. It's interesting, crusaders like Richard the Lionheart and Baldwin the Leper King defeated much larger Saracen armies under very unfavorable conditions. Baibars always had overwhelming numerical advantage against the crusaders. If he'd been outnumbered would he have ever won anything?

@@RealCrusadesHistory Outnumbered by regular European troops ?, yes he could've won without much trouble, Outnumbered by European knights ?, Not so much unless he only deploys skirmishing tactics while upgrading his range equipment with poisoned arrows or something to make even the smallest arrow wound turn lethal, But that's like asking, If WW2 Germany had more Tanks & planes then the Soviet Union, would Germany have won ? the answer is more then likely unless soviets come up with effective better strategies, tactics & equipment to counter that The reason why he outnumbered the crusaders to begin with is because turning captive teens by force into Mameluke's (Elite troops) is more efficient in terms of numbers Then turning teens from the European nobility without force into knights // The recruitment system of the Mamelukes was pragmatically better then that of those knight orders / You think it's coincidence that European knights throughout history were always in small numbers compared to the elite troops of their opponents The cost of equipment & training does not explain it either because the several spare composite bows (very expensive, takes almost a year to build), equally good and costly armor, spare horses & training of horse archery make the Mameluke actually a more costly warrior to train & equip then the European knight and yet way more mamelukes were recruited for the same resources and time I personally also think that while a Mameluke could have multiple woman (especially captives), the celibacy of those knights orders made them a not so appealing choice of career for some A more powerful recruitment system has it's benefits and for Baibars those were bigger numbers of Elite warriors then the Crusaders

@@RealCrusadesHistory The Crusaders joined the Mongol Army. Of course the number is 2 times or 3 times more than the Mamluks. but why did they still lose against the mamluks? LOL
Firstly, we do not know if Baibars el bendaqdary killed women and children as you say... But didn’t the Crusaders kill everyone who was in Jerusalem during their first campaign? They exterminated Muslims, Jews, and even Eastern Christians... Saladin treated them with mercy, but the response was that they returned with other campaigns, and so the Mamluks thought that is no solution for the crusaders except to punish them bloodily

When did he not?
You have no relation to history. Firstly, there is no such thing as the Mamluks. Its name is the Central Egyptian Islamic Sultanate. It was established in Egypt, with its capital being Cairo, and it included many of the countries surrounding us, whether in the continent of Africa, Asia, or Europe In addition to that, they were not slaves and were not of Turkish origin. They were children and were bought from the Sultan of Egypt, Kamel al-Ayyubi. They were from Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Turks, and Khwarezmians, and their number did not exceed 10,000 children. Then they were adopted through Egyptian families, which led to them being passed around because they were children. Customs, traditions, and the Islamic religion until they became Egyptians to the core and learned them, then joined the Egyptian army and trained at the hands of leaders from the Egyptian army. Then they assumed the throne of Egypt after the death of the last Sultan of Ayyubid, Queen Shajarat al-Durr, after a dispute over the throne, the wife of King Najm al-Din Ayyub Finally, it is a very miserable attempt for you to show yourselves strong, and this is by falsifying history, which confirms that you crushed the Crusader kingdoms in the East, you, and all of Crusader Europe in the East, at the hands of the Egyptian army during the era of the Ubaid state, the era of the Ayyubid state, and the era of the Middle Egyptian Islamic Sultanate, you, the Mongols, and every nation or ethnic group. And I stood before the Egyptian Sultan, whether they were Abyssinians, Arab Bedouins, Berbers, Armenians, Georgians, Cypriots, or French, and their king Louis IX was captured and the French army was destroyed. The European Emperor Louis IX was captured and imprisoned in the Egyptian city of Mansoura, or Englishmen who fled before entering the battle, or Portuguese whose legends were destroyed. Or Ottoman Turks and many, many others
Please Serbian tittle😃
