HOLD UP! ✋ Crusaders - some one who embraced the way of Christ, avoid sin, and be in any crusade no matter where and no matter who the enemy is to feel the stress with his fellow crusaders. To pray in holy lands but also fight people with different beliefs to defend/free Christians. Templars - people who defend cities and people traveling and kinda act like police rather than just fighting and yeeting out when the war is over.

Right on brother. The biggest misconception of the Templar Mound is that it was the location of king Solomons’ Temple and the 2nd Temple. The place where the Dome of The Rock stands was called the Templar Mound because it was the location of the Templar’s headquarters. Later because the name “Templar” is so close to the word“Temple” it was misconstrued as the location of the original Temple. THIS IS WRONG. The location of the original Temple was at the Gihon springs in the city of David. The place where the dome of the rock stands was the Roman fortress fort Antonio. This can be authenticated in the book Acts.

Military maybe, but not the first holy order, the hospitallers were the first holy order to exist, but they were morely an order of physicians that made a hospital in the holy land to treat the victims of the dangerous roads, the pilgrims. The hospitallers became also a military order some years after the Templars.

I think the idea is that the "Order" integrate themselves into all of the strongest powers at the time. We see that in Origins where their power extends to the highest level of the Roman Empire...and then when Rome converted, it would make sense that they integrated into Christian/Catholic hierarchy. I'd like to see a story where the "Order" becomes internally known as the "Templars."

I am a Knight of Malta. A Knight of Magistral Grace. Pope Urban Originally sent a military order of Hospitlers called the knights of St. John. They protected pilgrims on the way to the holy land and conquered Jerusalem for Christendom. They were then called the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem. The Knights Templar were formed for to protect the Temple Mount. The Knights of the holy sepulcher were formed to protect the sacred area where Jesus was crucified. The Knights of Saint John exist today. They are called the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta. Otherwise known as the Knights of Malta
