People from North east are way better than rest of the indians from UP Bihar haryana rajasthan. Northeast people are educated, sophisticated, live in small but clean houses. Women are treated better in north east. I don’t know why these people face racism, as Maharashtrian iam instead proud of these people bhai thode hi log apne pas garv karne layak. Baki 60% indians to jahil gawar anpadh hi hai. Choti soch wale. Atleast north east aisa region hai jin logo pe hame proud feel karna chaiye . Aur ham unhe chidhate hai indian nahi mante. Maine itni bewkufi kahi nai dekhi. Kuch log acche hai unhe to indian rehne do. Inka gussa sar chadh gaya to ye bharat se alag ho jayenge. Hame inhe indian feel karwana chaiye. It is actually quite common. I'll relate a story about my own father. My father has Rajput, European and some NE Indian blood, but he looks like a total gora. He used to go to school in Jamshedpur and his skills in hockey were extreme. He could have eventually gone on to play for India..and this was when India was actually the Kings of hockey. He was refused a spot in the teams above his school level and was told he was too white. A couple of players who he knew and was superior to went on to play for India. The problem is that we don't realise it but if there had been no outside conquest, India today would have been multiple states instead of one vast country. Racism is a very Indian problem too. North Indians scorning South and vice versa..Marathis hating Bengalis and so on. India's potential is so great. But this, corruption, and honestly, religious fundamentalism holds this nation back. Ppl burning themselves b/c they don't like what some celebrity says and so on..ridiculous! India is an ancient culture..and it should behave like an ancient grown-up culture.

@@siddharthshekhar909 Long before Mamta came to power, there were problems with Marathis cursing outsiders coming to Mumbai etc and stealing their jobs. The harsh truth is that India has not normalised relations between all it's regions. And, if the British had never taken over all of India, today we'd have many smaller nations in the Indian subcontinent. India is not China where over 90 percent are Han. That's why China has been able to maintain a rather homogenous civilisation for thousands of years. We can only make this great nation a better nation if we are brave enough to acknowledge the faults that still exist.

They may be ill treated in some places may be because they are from workers group rather than Management but I don't see any case of racism type.. indians know how respect people of all looks and colours as we are used to differences than any other country in the world In general, They are not treated badly.. there are many north east Indians here working in parlors and hotels.. whenever I ask anything about them genuinely to know how they are facing language problems and how often they meet their family etc .. they get offended thinking that I'm asking about their place.. They are all brainwashed that they will be mistreated because of their region or looks..It may be Chinese agenda to make North East Indians feel that they are not treated well and create a rift between them and rest of indians and annex the territory.. North East India has less development because of their terrain . It is difficult for transport and communication .. so development is slow it doesn't mean government is neglecting them.. it's just a brain game by extra national forces

As an Indian I'm happy that the new generation is opening its eyes to the internal racism that prevails in India. We call ourselves democratic but only on paper. Also the change only reflects in the 10-20% urban population. Till the time the old goes out and the new comes in the country will still suffer. Also education needs to be provided upto rural level too eradicate this evil.. that's my little advise to us indians.

Being a Mizo living in South India, especially after the pandemic, life had not been too easy. I got bullied for "being Chinese", some stores kicked me out and literally banned any people who look like Chinese. I think we have lots of problems yet to be fixed and in order to do so, not only leaders but us people are also very important in my point of view. I want to clarify that I don't mean South Indians in general treat others bad, I'm talking about a few bad side of my experience which I think have to be worked on since I believe it can be changed. I am not hating on South Indians or Chinese I am just stating that as a human being people can do wrong however each of us should reflect on our actions and try to be better and make a better and more peaceful country/world..! Once again, please, if you don't believe it or have nothing nice to say about it, please don't reply at all. You just make yourself look stupid and show your immaturity by being rude to me for going through such. And I really appreciate all the sweet and supporting comments, it feels nice to wake up to comments that gives hope that the world is still a very warm place to live in.

They are all brainwashed that they will be mistreated because of their region or looks..It may be Chinese agenda to make North East Indians feel that they are not treated well and create a rift between them and rest of indians and annex the territory.. 16 years back when I came to Bangalore from my small village in Kerala, I hadn't met many north eastern people before. Initially I thought most of those fair north easterners walking in the streets are from either China or Japanese, as I hadn't even met a Chinese or Japanese in my whole life. But over time I learned to identify our north eastern brothers and sisters, and I would sincerely tell that they are some of the most humpe people I have ever met in my life. India is so big that, sometimes we get confused with the nationality of the people from far distant regions. For example, a typical Keralite could easily confuse a fair Kashmiri guy as an American foreigner and a fair women from Nagaland as a beautiful Chinese. And these people would end up getting huge respect as a foreigner :)

I agreed, and a North Indian guy may sometimes mistake a south Indian to be a african guy. I'm not saying this in a derogatory manner, some few months ago, I watched a music video from a south state, and I thought the singer was an African guy, turns out he's our own countryman😅.
