Most robots with grip like that either have fans sucking them to the ground or really strong magnets. One of the best examples is the battlebot Beta, who has used both systems at one point or another to negate the recoil from it's hammer

No one is controlling it. It is the code that runs it. And these specific robots have sensors at the front facing the floor. They can see the white line and stop accordingly. For these "mini sumo" battles the moment you let go of your robot, you no longer have any control. Everything is done by the code.

I was in the Battlebots program in high school for the 15lb weight class. My second year doing it there was this bot called the "Shnooginator", baby blue and looked like a harmless wedge bot. It had the fastest kill time in the league that year at just over 2 seconds. It was hilarious.

It wasn’t THE biggest, but it looked like it was gonna be an absolute rat bastard to have to fight. The Shnooginator was probably the second smallest bot I had seen by that point, so there was quite the size difference.

Basically, the first and only time I tried playing Skullgirls online, but it also doesn't help that I absolutely suck at traditional fighting games.

It moves with that speed but it remains stable and doesn't lose traction. That is very impressive!

Its probably a technical adaptation from the electro mouse labyrinth community, its a really big community that keeps making advancements and sharing them across the community. Some years back they started using suction though air ventilation so the robots could accel and take turns A LOT faster without lifting off the ground or falling over because they are being sucked down by a small propeller circulating out the air below the robot upwards and from that day basically everyone had to use the same technology because the speed and agility created this way was just uncontestable in any other way.

These robot battles were fun. I was in a game design class and there were sign ups. My group signed up and we all had to take certain jobs. We had a hard time getting i to detect another robot with the light sensor. So we basically programmed it to do a set movement path we thought would it the other robot out of the arena. It would than use the crappy pathfinding code we made lol. Won 2 rounds as well.

Fun fact 2: you can get multiples of the gen one legendary in Pokemon let's go after beating the elite 4....I HAVE 2 OF EACH LEGENDARY (other than mewtwo or mew) ON MY TEAM Fun fact 3: on route one when flying n Pokemon let's go you can encounter a level 6 charizard which within the game universe should be impossible

The best thing about this is that the robots speed is not even edited in the slightest. This means that actually happened IRL.
