It was an invention that changed our lives and changed our world, and the story of the telephone can be found in a small St. Louis museum at Jefferson Barracks.

I remember party lines! My mother got into a big argument because she needed to make an important call and two ladies told her she could make her call when they were finished talking. She did everything but beg, she finally went to my cousin's house.

As a child in Levittown, New York, in the early 1950’s we had a party line. I remember picking up the phone and hearing people speaking on the phone. LOL 😆

I still have my landline and no cell phone. I get along just fine.
