Telecaster Hot Rod Modifications (Part 1 - Intro) Guitar Werks @ Rench Ranch

Музыка

Starting work on my 2003 Fender Telecaster (Mexican Standard, Sage Green Metallic) modifications today. I have been modifying this guitar off and on for 15yrs now. Decided it was time for another evolution of my trusty Tele. I really love this guitar!
In this video I introduce the project. I also go into detail about my previous business and KZread channel, Rench Guitar Werks. I haven't done any guitar related videos since I closed my business due to economic reasons. While I don't run the business anymore I still like to tinker with guitars. So why not start making content for the Rench Ranch that is guitar related.
Since Melly and I use our KZread channel now as a "catch-all" for all kinds of stuff that interests us, I decided to make a new section (playlist) dedicated to guitar stuff that would have been on the old RGW site. Hoping with the winter coming, I can produce some non-motorcycle related content for the channel.
Hope that this will be of some interest. I have found that a LOT of motorcycle riders also play guitar.
Cheers!
Mike

Mike - Happy New Year! Man, I'm so pleased to see you back with the guitars again! When the other KZread Channel went down, I couldn't find your content anymore.. I don't know if you check your Facebook inbox, but I've sent a few messages there - from Kenni. Now I know why.. I'm sorry to hear that, really.. Anyway, I subscribed, for sure! I really hope to see more guitar videos, here on this channel! That would be excellent, Mike! You are a true master of your craft, and I've surely missed that! Looking forward to follow this one, and hopefully see more in the future! Thanks again, Mike! All the best to you and your loved ones! Warm regards.

Hey Mike may I ask if you could repost your awesome Chapman ML3 Traditional upgrade video series you did a few years back. I’m finally getting round to pimping my guitar and wanted to look at your awesome videos again.

I would like to, but sadly the footage is lost. At the time that I took down the business and all it's associated internet "stuff", I did not maintain any backups. Didn't realize it when I closed the KZread channel that they deleted / removed the videos as well. So they are gone. Sorry. Hopefully there's something to be learned from the new videos I have posted. Thanks for watching. Mike

Rench Ranch Oh that’s a shame. I watched them so many times, but never downloaded them either. I do remember that Rob Chapman himself posted a comment thanking you for awesome review. Your luthier skills, attention to detail and laid back attitude make your videos a joy to watch. Maybe you need to repeat the Chapman pimping series again. Hint. Thanks from New Zealand 👍

Rench Ranch I’m not a great social media user and am not on Facebook. I have no idea why your channel disappeared or you stopped the luthier business. I only hope it wasn’t anything serious like health issues or family stuff. All the best for the future Mike. Keep up the content. It is A1.

@@Dan.Chaytor I live in the Detroit Metro area in Michigan USA. We have 3 Guitar Centers, and 2 other Big music stores along with a ton of other shops. Just wasn't enough money in the repairs for me to keep the shop open with big box stores undercutting the labor. I tired working full time and doing the repair on the side but it took forever to get customer guitars done and it wasn't fair to them. So I have shelved the business for the time being. I still own the rights and name. I can always bring it back. But have to earn a living and there just isn't enough margin in the repair business to pay the bills. Nothing health related like that or anything. So for now I just do videos for fun when I have time. Thanks! Mike

Rench Ranch thanks Mike for taking time to reply to my questions. I posted all these before even watching this video, and if I’d watched it first I would have seen and heard you explain why you shut up shop/ lost all your previous footage. Sorry to make you explain it twice! I notice you’re now using conductive paint over the copper tape shielding option you did a while back on the Chapman. Do you think this a better option? Cheers
