Congrats on your Tektons. I have the Lore's with the beryllium tweeters. Simply awesome. However I would love to hear the perfect set's sometime. I'm sure they are incredible. Thanks for posting.

Hi Eric it's the white Hi gloss finish. Very nice paintwork that has stood up well...nearly 4 years now and they look brand new. I do wax them occasionally with car wax!

How do you like them compared to the pendragon?

Sound was recorded on a phone, so that's the limitation. Sound in room was superb, despite some reflective surfaces.

Do you like these over the Pendragons?

It's a close call...both great speakers but the perfect sets are a slightly better match for me overall. If you like rock /metal then the pens are probably a better fit, but it really depends on your front end gear. Overall, I find the perfect sets just a touch more refined. I think that's the benefit of the array set up for the mid range. Both speakers are superb though..

@@atavachron27 I like rock/metal & I had the Enzo XL & didn't like it for that usage. There were plenty of things I liked a lot about them but ultimately they were too hot around 4khz. Can you elaborate on the Perfect SET vs Pens for rock/metal?

@@JPWinters I think I said it all above. If you like listening at crazy volumes and have a monster front end SS amp, then the pens are probably a better match. However, I do listen to a lot of rock /fusion with the perfect sets and love them....virgil donati, pineapple thief and three trapped tigers sound great. My pens are powered by dual monoblock valve power amps that do 200w so pretty much anything sounds great. However, like I said, the 7 driver mid/tweeter array of the perfect sets gives more overall refinement and detail and go plenty loud enough for me. They are my desert island speakers.

@@mbracerh They had a harsh and hard upper midrange that will hurt your ears if you don't give them EQ or DSP.

It was recorded on a phone....what do you expect! The bass is definitely there...very accurate, not the bloated over-emphasis that the majority of listeners gravitate to.

It wasn't perfect but actually not bad at all. I've been to many audio show that didn't do as well. The audio was captured via phone so not a real reflection of the sound in room.

I will never understand the need for a million different amps but ok

A million different amps? Really? The only amps actually being used in the demo are a power amp and a pre-amp ( 2 amps) . In the racks there are three headphone amps, 3 dacs, a music server and an old denon cd player and associated solid state amp. I play around with different combinations of rigs mainly for trying different tubes etc. Part of the hobby really, some people don't get it I guess!

@@mbracerh there is no information to be gained from this. As a person trying to learn about Tekton it’s natural to assume a video about them would contain info. You tube is full of people posting videos of speakers playing. Anyone with an investment like this guys should know recording sound in this manner and playing over KZread is awful in terms of quality. It would seems these people who post these videos know nothing about audio if they think this is a useful for others.

@@anklebar1 To a point I hear what you are saying, but I think the video will be of interest to anyone who is trying to find out more about Tekton speakers. It's had nearly 7000 views so someone has been looking! Of course the sound is not representative but unless doing a professional binaural recording and listening via headphones, you are never going to get that. And to be frank, I think I know quite a lot about audio and what sounds good v's bad. You are judging me based on absolutely zero information, which I don't find cool at all. With copyright issues, it's pretty tough to even get music on a youtube video so I was merely trying to get something on video for folks to check out. Tekton don't do a lot of their own marketing or videos so there is not much for folks to go on.

very shallow base for that size of speaker. sounds like a cheap speaker.

How so? Do you mean "base" as in physical footprint of the speaker or "bass" as in sound signature? Either way, you are either incorrect or mistaken. As for being a cheap speaker...it all depends on perspective. I personally believe this speaker it great value for money and relatively "cheap" vs any competition. In that regard, there isn't really anything on the market that offers what the Tekton does, namely full range, high efficiency with a very well implemented sonic balance. Maybe Zu would claim that but generally at a higher price point and with perhaps a less refined sound. Other than that, you are looking at a different price bracket...$10k plus to find speakers that offer a comparable performance. From the tone of your post, you may well just be trolling but hope the response is helpful to others who are genuinely interested in these speakers.
