Tekla Structures 2020 - Working with Base points

Ғылым және технология

Let’s take a look at how to work more efficiently with base points in Tekla Structures. We’ll demonstrate the importing and exporting of a reference model in an IFC format, learn how to refresh an inaccurate reference model sitting far away from the origin and how to find base points coordinates in the IFC file.

Hi, thanks for useful information in the webinar. One question - is possible to influence also agles around next axis? Now I see taht anoly angle around Z-axis is possible to set. What about X- and Y- axis? We are using Tekla for modeling of steel bridges and this wouldb be very helpful.

As a company we don't use Tekla but to coordinate IFC's using Navis or Solibri the Tekla IFC output very rarely aligns and it wastes a lot of time trying to get this to work, are there any tips to make sure alignment is achieved. We cannot Clash detect unless they align. Any Help would be appreciated.

so you're actually moving the grids to the IFC coordinates?

how can I move tekla basepoint to my model origin instead of changing the model coordinates?

Good presentation. Only one thing: it seems the the angle respect to the North that Tekla is asking should be the complementary respect to the one picked and not iterative (I think iterative could be x,y or North East coords). Perhaps, in order to avoid iteration, in the IFC files opened should be clear the logic of creation of the base plate in order to pick exactly the coordinates of the base plate itself.

You are absolutely right Gianluca! I realized it later on and debated it live during the Q&A which is not posted here.

In order not to do this kind of action, the client will have to share the correct information. so that the Tekla user can easily and unambiguously export his model. Nowadays you do not bring the steel profiles by horse and carriage. Don't make things difficult for each other and share the RIGHT information. this also makes it easy to coordinate.

You don't have to iterate the angle. You just measured the wrong one.

Absolutely right you are George! Realized that later on and acknowledged it during the live session. Hope you found the video interesting!
