ULtra hard in this game makes everyone look like tk2 arcade version kazuya and devil. Reads all of your shit, and grabs you ALL the time, just like devil. So.... Put the game on ultra hard, hope he appears, and bam. To guarantee true ogre to appear, and as a sub boss, play as king.

@@mikaela5938 pretty wrong there. He's my go to character in tekken 3 and I bet you there's no chain he can't break out of. You just need to know how. Also, there are many chains that work on other characters but he can just break out of those as well.

Nice video, but to clarify some things: - Default health in the game is 151, which is what most of the "normal" male characters had. The females, along with Paul and Heihachi, had 140 hit points. - True Ogre's f+2 is based on Wang's move, not Jin's, though in practice they are similar. - f,f+2, while cheap, can also be escaped by pressing b,b. When escaped this way, there is virtually no stun or recovery, making it very easy to punish True Orge. When I regularly played TTT in Korean arcades, a fair number of players could ALWAYS escape this way and punish with Jin's electric or some other fast launcher, making the move quite risky. - Good players can jab Ogre out of his fast unblockables. They are quick, but not unseeable or unpunishable for people with good reactions. Overall, the Ogres were super strong and, sure, unbalanced, but they were also so satisfying to play with. I still get to play TTT in the arcades against other good players from time to time and it's always a lot of fun with team No Limit Ogres.

The lowest tier health was 140 most female characters had that along with Law, Paul, Hei, Roger and Wang. After that it was 151 most male characters + Anna and Julia (Julias damage output and safety combined with higher health made her a tank). There's a couple of higher ammounts but that covers most of the cast.

Yeah the players with some training could easily escape by pressing bb. And then there were those who could react to it and I was a mid level Ogre/true ogre player because I got tired of everyone mid playing Jin and heihachi and Lei. There were players who could react to most of True Ogre moves and the health pool is justified because True Ogre can be juggled more than normal characters.

Tag 1 is still the Tekken game I had the most fun with. Probabyl because I never gave a shit about balance, even in the face of horribly broken stuff like bosses being playable while still buffed like a boss.

I played True Ogre/Ogre as well in Tag1. But I was losing interest by the time game was 3/4 years old. By the time tekken 5 came out the arcades had closed down. But I had fun people raging over getting beaten by ogre/true ogre...

Correction: His f,f+2 was launch punishable in that instead of hitting 'u' or 'd' after blocking the 1st hit which resulted in a quick SS, you were supposed to hit 'b,b' allowing you to backdash making the 2nd hit whiff. You could launch him with an EWGF afterwards.

Ogre ----> True Ogre. More powerful, more life, more range and more broken.

TMM didnt mention this but true ogre actually has a way to escape mid air juggling by flying. if you can easily escape while getting juggled holy shit that is quite cheap

Ogre had a massive sidestep and didn't get wrecked by big character specific cheese, T Ogre was susceptible to some bs juggles and oki canceling out the health edge.

How about *everyone* for Tekken Tag 3? Wouldn't feel right without keeping the tradition alive... Although, I don't think we'll be seeing another Tag game for a long time since Tag 2 didn't sell for whatever reason. The game was a satisfying culmination, detailed and a lot of fun imo.

Forgot to mention about WS3,3,d3,3 (all natural combo) for an easy low punishment and billions of damage and about that flying stuff when juggling True Ogre. And if I remember correctly, you can escape f,f+2 doing a backdash, which gives you opportunities for good punishments.

These videos are hillarious as always. However I watched this before going to bed and just woke up in a sweat and all I remember was injustice by broken tekken characters. True story

The fact is that, yes, you choose king but this guy is clearly Armor King because there are no reason for king to become black skinned and use someone else mask. I think that if we choose this costume we get Armor King 1 using King characteristic moves like he did when he was training King 2. If you remember, a similiar thing was done with Miharu being a simple costume swap for Ling because they basically have identical fight style. The strange thing is that we still get the name "King" for the character, even if that guy is 100% Armor King. PS: sorry for my bad english.

Quick correction, you were right with true ogre having the most hp in the game, but its not 115 with True ogre. In fact its even higher at 120. Making him tied with Devil , Angel, Kuma, Panda, Gun Jack, Jack-2, and Prototype Jack for highest hp in the game.

JKF 201726 thats what makes Devil and True ogre so scary. Unlike Prototype Garbage or Kuma who are slow af and get punished easily, thats not the case with the other two.

You can punish the ff2 snake move, rather than pressing down or up if you do double back, you could escape the second hit and punish it as well. Otherwise, the video is really entertaining.

@13:12 You can actually punish it, there is another escape from this move, tap back twice and u get out of the move and recovering very fast. I remember launching ppl on EWGF after blocking this move

The part where the camera spins and true ogre's back covers your character and you can't gauge the range and can't tell what he's about to do

respected @TheMainManSWE , the f f+2 , snake arm can also be doudged by double back dash. So not only does pressing down saves u from the second hit but the move b, b also saves u from the second mid

TheMainManSWE, If i remember correctly you can escape the snakebite by pressing forward forward or Back back also after blocking the first hit. And then you can punish him easily.

@TheMainManSWE, you forgot to mention T. Ogre's d/f reversal and that his f,f+2 can also be escaped by sidestepping upward or by tapping b,b (which is actually very easy and it leaves you on a better position than sidestepping the unblockable part). Also, yes, you can totally d+3, 3, n+3 after that move. The video was great tho. I'd love to see more of T1, T2, T3 and TTT from you. :)

there are also good characters that checks him, theres a good community of tekken tag 1 veterans here that deals with true ogre as if he isnt broken, the fast unblockable is actually hard to pull off

14:14 You can punish True Ogre f,F2. Instead of down/up, press back after blocking it and your character will back dash & recover faster that True Ogre while True Ogre would still be in his recovery frames. Press back after blocking, not up/down.

Ancient Ogre still has the f, F 2 in TTT2 You can still do the step thing, but the second hit isnt garanteed anymore, but you can get alot of plus frames if someone block the 2 hits

Paul was actually kind of middle of the road in T3 surprisingly, wasn't too bad, but he couldn't compete with the top tier characters like Jin, Xiaoyu, Heihachi and especially the two Ogres. he's really good in the recent games, he was pretty decent in T4, and in T2 he was broken as shit lol, top 2.

After blocking the first hit Double back will block the snake bite.

The D,DF+2 or D,F+2 50/50 was always good. Mix that with his while standing kicks or his baek sweep kicks was too strong. I hated using FF+2 that felt just a little too cheap against the scrubs

im amazed that you did not mention the double tap backward (to the snake move) which in case of mashimas ends in an electric on oger's face.... this is the worst move we can do in the arcade,,,, even a kid punishes after this move.. :D

so uh was this character banned or what cuz it seems like they went "Let's see how fast we can get a character banned."

Top Mishima players still beat top Ogre players fairly consistently in the early 2000’s. Jang Suwon was number 1 ranked Ogre player in the world at the time and would lose against his Mishima peers just as often as anyone else

The combo count is a bit confusing, the 76 result in that when you use a throw that had guaranteed followups the damage is just added to the throw, he also had counterhit on so the f2 did more damage then it should, proper calculation would be 55+ 35+28(63 would be shown instead of 76)= 118 dmg.

True ogre's ff+2 can be punished because there are two ways to avoid his snake spear. 1. Side step 2. Back dash After doing back dash you can even launch ogre. I do a combo from ogre's d/f+1+2 d/f+1+2,U+3+4,d+1,f+2 So much damage
