Worst part about fighting games with customization. So many players rush towards degenerate uses to get the tiniest advantage. Plenty in TTT2 using the same full-body costume in hopes their opponent would forget which they were fighting. Same in SFxT, douchebags would pick the training stage and color their characters to match the background to mess with your eyes.

I think Tekken 7 had better advertising. Akuma being included caught a lot of attention. Also, Street Fighter 5 was disappointing at launch, so that might have also helped Tekken 7.

​@@vance4172a few other very important factors: -unlile Tag 2 Tekken 7 had 4 years of post launch support -came out in an era where social media and gaming are extremely intertwined so word of mouth and all the memes and compilations go a really long way -the pandemic allowed a lot of people to actually put time into a Tekken game since everyone was at home and getting exposed to Tekken through all the internet culture

As an insane masochist who spent thousands of hours in this game back in the day, this brings me joy

i HATE that TTT 1 and 2 were commercial "failures", because all watching the legacy videos of either has done for me is stoke a deep want for a TTT3 to come after T8 SO BAD.

I bought this for PS3 at launch, and am now gonna double dip and buy this for xbox. This is why backwards compatibility is important!!!!!

I remember being blown away by ttt2 graphics back in the day. Now it looks like the ps3 game it is. Graphics still solid, but 7 is a step up and T8 is several steps up graphically. T8 is the best looking fighting game on the market right now.

I spent HOURS playing this game, i freaking love it. Even when 7 and 6 was still relevant, i kept coming back to this one.

Man, I don't even play fighting games anymore, but I have such nostalgia for this one. Game was freaking legendary.

This game was so fun to lab and play but my lord breaking throws was a nightmare. That's why i think T7 was so much more successful, way more accessible and also bringing in Akuma made everyone hype. People forget TTT2 had Snoop Lion for marketing, another factor as well I believe people were still riding for team Capcom, till they finally hurt their core fgc audience with SF5 and MVCI.

Max revisiting this game has me so hyped, that I bought this game at a local game store 😂

The Seriex X upgraded the visuals big time, I played a few games earlier and the game looks way better.

What I loved about older tekken games was it was less about super long juggle combos and more about the back and fourth. Don’t get me wrong, they were there to a degree, but less about popping them up and locking them there for a loooong time. I played Murdock and armored king, and when I played I was just timing pokes and the heavy hitting moves

The display of skill here is monstrous. To play against the hardcore players left standing with a dead game and succeeding is super fun and impressive

Forever my favorite fighting game ever. The roster; the stages; the music; the customization; the battles; the insane amount of player freedom.

We need a tekken tag 3 with every previous character included across all the tekken verse. And we need every single one of them to have a lore specific tag switch, like Leroy stepping on Heihachi in a way that makes him slightly stumble, as the tag switching for each character individually.

Bandai Namco should get to work on a Tekken Tag Tournament 3. The first two Tekken Tag Tournament games were great, but we need a Tekken Tag Tournament 3 in the works.

My heart rate gets jacked when I play tekken online and I actually feel a bit shaky after a few matches 😆 I want to get better but I can only play a few games before I need a break. Does anyone else experience this and if so did you get de-sensitised with time? That spike in blood pressure can't be good for my health.

I suggest taking time between each match to do breathing exercises, lower that heart rate and let the adrenaline drain and reset.

I feel you man, I don't play online often and this sometimes happens to me too. Usually after a couple of matches (especially after winning one or two matches), I'm good and back in the game. But I agree with the other reply on here, just take a break and do some breathing exercises, then come back to it. After awhile you'll get used to it. You got this!

IS TAG 2 THE ONLINE WARRIOR COMING?? Probably not while T8 is dropping... but I'd really like to see that.

What I love the most about Tekken is that it's always had it's identity. They just change properties of moves, add in some new and take away some. MK for example drastically changes their characters and the game in general every year, that's why those games are either hit or miss. If you like MKX and MK9 like me you probably won't like MK11 and MK1 as much or not at all. If you like Tekken, you like all of them. Some are better or worse than the other but to me Tekken is the best of them all because if you're somewhat familiar with one games movesets since T6 you'll feel familiar with all movesets after that game and it makes it easier to understand.

Yeah, and the changes and additions they give to characters are always really well integrated into the character move list and feel like they've been there the whole time.

It was confirmed that the gods in the GoW series, that the gods only affect their part of the world. So when Kratos killed Poseidon, his death didn't flood the world. It only flooded Greece, or when Kratos killed Helios, the sun only disappeared for Greece, not for the entire world. This is why Scandinavian isn't flooded and still has its sun in GoW 4 & 5. If they put this on steam, I would absolutely still play this. I love this visual style. Not alot of visual noise all over the screen is so much better than 7 and 8 to an extent. Simple, to the point and no rage and heat. I miss it being about the better player, not the person who spams Heat and Rage.

Game looks amazing but Max is probably right about why sales were so bad. Releasing a game that is supposed to have a steady drip of DLC content, but at the end of the console’s life…and the matchup knowledge would be extremely difficult.
