Awesome guide, man. The devs made some really weird decisions with regards to this games' graphics settings. You'd think with how light the game is on the GPU side they would have added these options in the game itself, especially things that really make a difference, like ambient occlusion, and things that can turn people off, like chromatic aberration. It looks way better with your settings. Thanks!

It really helps!! I'm using RTX 3050 11300h laptop then with medium to low settings. No more stutters and lags and it even looks Amaziiing. Constant 60 fps awesoooome!

Dude, it's been 3 days since Tekken 8 is out and you already have this!! Amazing. I wish there was one for SF6, it's already 7~8 months since the game is out, and there is no post yet... Awesome guide, I already limited the game in rivatuner and set my monitor refresh rate to 60hz but the game kept using too much gpu. Limiting the game from nv control panel worked, now the game runs well while gpu frequency sits at 780mhz and low temperature.

Dang. Sh** runs so smooth I might have overcompensated a bit for my specs. Going to have to play around with my settings. Funny enough it looks like a slighty better version of Tekken 7. It's only with in game menus were the fps ever drops. Particularly character select. It might be something with preloading. As long as it doesn't effect my matches I'm fine. I was about to drop the game because I didn't really want to upgrade.

Good in depth guide, explains everything very well. Might be personal preference but I would like a slightly faster speaking narrator voice. Regardless, good work.

Hey, thanks for the instructions. The bloom effect in the character select screen really bothered me. So I just played with the "BloomQuality" line. 5 seems to be the default. If you set it to 0, the bloom effect is completely gone and the characters in the select screen look very good. In the matches, however, the lighting effects no longer look so good at 0. I took screenshots and compared all the settings. BloomQuality 2 is the sweet spot for me. Btw. I tested the new "TUP - Ultra Plus Mod" on the Nexus website. When I use your settings the game looks better than with this mod (+ the TUP mod takes more performance). Good job! I'm surprised that there aren't any tips for the Nvidia Control Panel yet to perhaps get a little more out of the game. So far there is nothing about it to be found on the internet.

Thanks. Glad you liked my settings better. The thing is, I have been doing these things since years on UE4 games, so I know what looks better to the eyes. The TUP mod added SSGI which is super heavy on the system. SSGI alone takes about 3 times the GPU power of the 5 Shadow lines in my settings. On top of that there are some other overblown stuff in there as well. The reason I created my guide was to support every kind of system and that is why I chose settings that looks good but are not very demanding.

Thanks. I will try. You can use the unreal engine part of the guide for other UE4/UE5 games as well. All you have to do is locate where that game stores the engine.ini file in your PC.

film grain and vignette not anymore in full release. motion blur and HDR has a toggle in game now in full release and disabling bloom glitches a lot of particles in game. That is why these 5 lines were removed.

No. DLAA is only applied on Tekken 8 but the registry edit that the tool automatically does for you when you click YES on that message is global, so before playing other games, use the disable signature override file I mentioned to reset your Nvidia registry edit.

Yeah agreed. On top of that one setting in game, most of time is a package of settings like post process and background....but then it is like this in every UE game, so I dont blame the devs here

Great guide! One question though - so as far as input accuracy goes: having a consistent 16.6 ms is more important than not having a consistent frame time but less input delay right?

@@aquavina4142 For RTX DLSS. For GTX and AMD use TSR or TAAU depending on which gives you better results. The results you have to find for yourselves, as that depends on hardware.

Game already runs pretty well, though the problem I've seen from playing Tekken 8 Demo to the release is there's a memory leak for the release and it's ruining fun for me. It's always like that after playing around 15 to 30 mins, restarting the game temporarily fixes the problem. Funny because I have a friend that uses a 4070 ti and he gets 30 fps after playing some time, I have a 6700 XT. Hopefully they fix this quickly.

No offense but this seems like a rig or pc management problem as for me with just a 3060 Ti can play for unlimited times without any drops. I just played like 5 hours straight yesterday.

@@DanteKOGTekken Not a rig problem, and nowhere near that. Not everyone will have the same experience as the others. We just happened one of the many users to actually experience it (and we also benchmark games a lot we know if it's a memory leak or not). It was fixed on patch v1.01.04 shortly after a couple of days experiencing it. It seems to play well now. However I've had many reports of some users still having the issue. Great video though!

Dont use Nvidia latest drivers. They are causing issues for people and they getting half GPU utilization because of that.

Worked FANTASTICALLY thank you very very VERY much! one question though: I accidently maximized the reshade window in game. How do I minimize/resize it? I can't find the adjustable corner since it's so big now. Than's again for the help!

Its OK. Happened to me once xD. What I did was just kept the preset file, deleted all other reshade files and reinstalled Reshade.😆

Question: I tried following your guide and it seems like now the blue spark effect on just frame attacks are gone completely from my game.. do you know which setting could have caused that? Also, my game seems to load considerably a lot more slowly at the start, black screens for quite a while until the splash screens show, then it's smooth once I reach the main menu.. any ideas? Lastly, is running the game on borderless that much different from running it full screen performance and smoothness wise? Thanks again!

for the sparks gone, that is because you must have added the 4 particles lines, which I already stated that reduces a lot of effects in game. The slow start is an odd one. That is just the game boot process. It should not have anything to do with anything in the guide. Make sure you are not using any background apps or a lot of apps connected/injected to the game like Reshade. Crashes only happens to me whenever I use the camera mod to do the 3D Model videos. The game seems to be a little sensitive to outside stuff. Also make sure your are not running that Tekken Overlay app along with the game. For the last option, I would recommend full screen. Full screen option in all games seems to be the go to option for gamers and in some rare games, full screen also gives better performance.

Hey! thanks so much for the guide. I had a QQ, For the particle effects section in the engine.ini is there a way i can make the effect lowered but not as low as with that setting. Originally i had it off and on some maps like the one with the volcano the effects are almost too much in the bg so i added the part to lower the effects and its much better, but i was wondering if there was an in-between since it does effect the rage arts as well right? Is there a way to only lower the bg effects and not the character and fighting ones?

I am sorry buddy. I don't know any in between values and the command is universal for all particles of UE5 games, so you cannot just select a specific part of a specific stage.

Do you have vsync on? I always turn vsync off as it introduces input lag and it's redundant if you're using a frame rate limiter.

I don't think this is a Vsync issue as I always have it ON on a 3060 Ti....and I really like practicing in that stage. Never had any issue like this with Rage Arts.

Additionally: I only have a 1080p screen but in the Nvidia Settings you can add custom resolutions. So I've tried 2k and 4k resolution. The resolutions are now also available to choose within the game. So I guess this is Downscaling, which should improve the quality even more.

If your pc can run this game at it's max settings and still up the resolution by that much it might be time to think about a monitor upgrade.

Great guide but i would like to say that at 13:06 you shouldn't use TAAU but TSR with scaling at 100 since TSR is much better than TAAU and is the more modern version of TAAU.

@@DanteKOGTekken TSR Is sharper than DLSS because you can choose the rendering scale which for DLSS Quality is fixed at 67% while for TSR is whatever you choose. With both at same rendering scale DLSS looks better.

For now I dont know. Maybe changing the FOV will do it. I have to experiment on that. Anyway the camera distance is the same as Tekken 7, so I personally think it is OK.

Yes, the distance is the same, but for many it seems close, and the distance in the cameras in the T7 received a lot of positive feedback, it was especially useful for me, because part of my monitor is broken, and I can’t see a decent piece on the left side))

Work for full game? Also I use nis or the first stock up scaling is it ok? I have been playing online 56-60fps overclocked but the graphics are terrible just to play like at comp fps. @@MinaKamiXiV Sorry to say buddy but your system is very old for this game which is why you are getting bad graphics. At this point the only thing I would recommend is use Reshade and only apply Lumasharpen filter, so that you can sharpen your games image....all that said if you already have applied the sharpening UE5 command I have shown in the video and still getting blurry graphics.

1440p on a 2070 for this game is a hit or miss. Ultra is good but you might need to use DLSS Quality if you are getting like 55 fps or dropping lower than 60 in some stages or animations.

Always play at a tiny bit lower setting than at how much your GPU can play at full power. For example my card 3060 Ti can give me good results in 4K DLSS balanced, but I always play at 4K DLSS performance, which gives me that extra headroom for all the instances where my game could drop frames.

The DLSS config mod advises against using it for online games as the game may pick it up as a cheat tool. Have you had any issues with this?

Anti cheat mods only checks tampering with in game files that are in your steam library. They never check registry files or config files.

keep a backup of the config folder somewhere else. Then delete the config folder from original location. After that start the game and it will auto create new one for you depending on your setting.

Hi man, i really appreciate that u did this video for us, but I have a little problem here and i need ur help Specs: nvidia geforce rtx4060 gpu 12gen intel core i7 12650H 16gb ram My laptop run this game on 59FPS , but with very weird drops and lags, especially in the character menu screen. It can drop there to 30 or even to 15FPS, and after i go online with 59 again but with probability of dropping to 55-56. I noticed that sometimes it runs better then other times Even though i did everything u suggest in this video i don't see too much of a difference. If I tweak all the graphics to low it will drop the same as if i stick with ultra. is there a way to get out of this and have a smooth experience? Thank u.

The character select is just built in a way that howering over a character makes the game load the entire model, so fps drops over there is expected. The only suggestion for that I can give is to run the game from an SSD to reduce the loading times. As for online, that is also a Namco optimization problem. Also once again it depends on your internet and storage speeds as well. Many people are experiencing this issue. You are not alone, but there is nothing you can do about it for now.

If you have a 2080, try running in 4K DLSS performance on Ultra settings (shadow and anti aliasing on HIGH). Runs super smooth for me here on a 3060 Ti. If you still get frame drops, switch to 4K DLSS Ultra Performance.

Changing the engine.ini file to read-only will this not interrupt patches? and also will this be reset when patches are released? requiring to again input those custom system settings?

Patches only apply on game files that are in your steam library. They are never applied on config folders as those are different for every user because of the windows user name in file path.

i tried this but it added freezes in online games, mind you i think the guide is great but considering the nature of the game with crossplay it might not be a good idea to tweak graphics outside ingame settings since it might cause desync or stutters with console players or ppl that dont use optimization.

Sorry to hear that buddy but most people including me are having no issues with even mid ranged PCs. Tweaking graphics outside of game has always been a thing in UE games. It has been used for years.

Modifying the game files won't pose any problem for online playing ? Sorry if it's already said in the video

Tweaking visuals has always been a thing for UE games, even online. Tweaking gameplay is the things that gets you banned. As long as you dont tamper with in game files, you are fine

Not needed but it is recommended to redownload Reshade from official website and use it to download only the filters you need . This way you get the latest version of Reshade and get only the filters you want to apply. rather than mixed up files of different versions of Reshade and a plethora of filters to work with, which gets really confusing.

If i would set scaling to TAAU, will the DLAA override still apply ? Or does it require dlss to be set in game (I ask this because the dlaa program describes it overriding dlss settings)

DLAA will overwrite any upscaler you apply. Also you cannot use DLAA with DLSS, like I said in the video

Why did you have deleted the Bloom and Motion Blur lines in your Steam forum thread? Because this disabled the ungly blur in the character select screen for me.

That is because my first guide was for Demo version. The full version of the game already has motion blur option. As for Bloom, disabling that effects all particles in games because they act as light sources, like Kazuya's electricity, making them look all glitchy and very bad.

@@streamingben3021 I suggest leave bloom at default values. Too much bloom does not look good and without bloom all your particles in any animation looks very bad because they act as light sources

@@lewandowski983 Character select stutter is normal and is for everyone else as it has to load different model every time. Dont worry about it. I have the same thing.

In storry mode there is some horrible stuttering on movies when game is loading files and FPS goes to 30. Once loading is done, and you can actually skip movie FPS goes back to 60.

@@DanteKOGTekken I'm using nvme SSD and high end PC. I watched some story playthrougs on KZread with FPS counter, and it was exactly the same. It's not in every cutscene, but it's annoying. For example chapter 5 when Paul is entering the arena, at the beginning of the cutscene stutters, but Kuma entrance is ok.

If you use a 3060 ti, use ultra settings 4K and DLSS performance. Looks really good with constant 60fps all times, as I have 3060Ti as well. You dont need to open rehade every time. It is just a one time install and configure process. Also you can use the HOME key to bring and close reshade window anytime

That is because by clicking YES on the appearance of the message, the tool auto applies it for you.

Hidden folders in windows by default. Open MY PC > VIEW tab > check HIDDEN ITEMS. This was for windows 10 btw , so if you have Win11, just google it.

Hhmm, if you use the DLAA thing, that overrides the upscaling method ingame right? I mean you have to select DLSS but quality/performance won't matter right? Im comfused about that

Your upscaler selection will not matter. It will always be overwritten if you enable DLAA.

if it occasionally drops to 58, that means you are at the very edge. Just use TSR and lower render scale from 100 to 90 if you have not already.

@@DanteKOGTekken TAAU is what I would recommend for @inzanity490 and for lower end GPUs then, if they are bothered by the ghosting. Whether it's there or not I haven't noticed any ghosting myself on catmull bicubic, though i also have it on 100 rendering scale (gtx 1660 super).

My laptop has a old 4gb GTX 1650 with i5 9300H processor and 32 gb ram. Pls recommend the best settings to run tekken 8 smoother with 60 fps.....for steam online play.....

Since GTX 1650 is a 4GB VRAM card. I would recommend 1080p resolution, lowest settings on everything and TAAU upscaler with rendering value of 100%. That should give you 60fps at all times even in online matches with a GPU usage of about 85% to 90%. Just be sure to close all background apps while playing the game.

The old HDR lines were only to enable HDR in game. The full version of the game already has that option, so I removed those lines

search "gaming error initialize sequence error 1" on google. There are videos there to fix that error and the first one is literally about Tekken 8. Anyway, just to inform this looks like a Directx12 error and has got nothing to do with Reshade, but I could be wrong.

I just put all on highest setting. I don know if my laptop support it 😅
