Yeah, generally called pre battle intros or battle intros. Common in classic 2d fgs up the 2000s, invented by SNK in their first fgs in the and that Capcom started after some time. Modern 2d fgs replaced those animations for cinematic intros inspired by 3d fgs... kinda ironically after old 3d fgs use the battle intros of 2d fgs.

I genuinely wanna see a Tekken 3 remake. Character models and stages with over 40,000 polygons, intro and character endings with modern CGI. The 1 vs 1 mode in Tekken Tag 1 was the closest to experiencing a Tekken 3 remake because it had the same core design, but they took it away from the HD remaster in Tekken Hybrid.

Even if they were to do it, they’d probably over compensate like they did with TAG2. What I mean is just look at the snow castle remake theme in TAG2 as an example, it’s arguably worse than the original theme..... it’s just not the same. TAG2 felt nothing like the original tag despite being a continuation of that trend. Trying to recreate that lightning in a bottle experience almost always fails to live up to what it’s trying to replicate or surpass. If they were to remake T3, they’d probably just ruin it by trying to give it a new flare. In order for it to work it would need to be an exact copy with just new polygons and graphics etc like you said. Anything they add to it would have to be minimal amount of creative liberty so it doesn’t take away from the core elements of what made the original so good. T3’s cinematics were quite gritty, dark and atmospheric because the story and it’s characters were still taken on a serious note. The newer Tekken games have departed a lot from that in exchange for spectacle and over the top campyness like we see with many character win poses, rage arts and endings. This is why we miss the old Tekken and look back at these videos from Buff Gigas and say to ourselves, damn what happened?

Ah Tekken 3, my first ever PS1 game. Heck still got the PSX mod on my iPad going so I can play it there, forever a classic.

Would've been funny if Heihachi appeared at the end then Pulled a Gun on Jin

Man I really mis Jin's old pants with the laces and old flame design. The mini intros before the round starts feels nostalgic too

If tekken 8 ever releases, I hope it can add tekken classics

It added Jun and azazel maybe t9 or t8 story dlc with have ogre.

I loved the rear P1 angle you added from the demo/idle fights. A little stylish detail that doesn't occur anymore

I wish it was true tho, Tekken 3 is by far the best Tekken of all times. Imo: Tekken 3 > Tekken 5 > Tekken 7 > Tekken Tag Tournament 2 > Rest.

Fighting games aren't made for remakes, if they were to remake the original ps1 trilogy, they'd change a lot of what made the games special in the first place, so instead I'd rather see a remaster, like how tag 1 had it, not changing the game at all but just making it look better and cleaner graphically. I find it to be way better than a remake.

@@Hello-cl1gf i get it. The original trilogy definetely had something special that actual Tekken lacks, mainly the character design, stages and music. A remaster would be ok. However, gameplay especially in T1 and T2 was stiff, slow and unbalanced. Characters like Jack, Kuma, Kunimitsu, Roger, etc. were very limited in gameplay. That's why i would prefer to see a remake where every character is equally usable. My main change would be remove the screw or bound mechanics.

That dodging at the end tho...

Tekken 3 was the most memorable for me nice job!

I wish True Ogre or Ogre were in the game. I played T3 when I was 4 but didn't actually get good and play another tekken till T7. They were some of my fav characters back then.

They were both playable in Tag 2 (as was virtually every other character who had ever appeared in the series up until that point). True Ogre also appeared in Tekken 5's side-story mini game as the primary antagonist (and even had a gigantic new transformation as the final boss). The base, humanoid version of Ogre has appeared in two Namco / Capcom crossover games as well. In Namco X Capcom for PS2, Ogre appears as an enemy. He also appears in Street Fighter X Tekken as one of the game's final bosses (along with Street Fighter's Akuma). He also appears in Tekken Mobile at the end of the game, threatening to return (which will probably never happen). And finally, both forms of Ogre appear in the recent Netflix Tekken anime series, which covers the events of Tekken 3. As for whether or not we'll see Ogre (any form) in playable capacity again in the main series is highly unlikely. Even though the character has actually continued to maintain a very low-key presence in the series since his 'death' in Tekken 3 (be it simple references, flashbacks, or cameos), I doubt that the developers have any real plans to bring him back to the roster. For one, his 'godlike' presence would automatically overshadow any other villain in the game, unless he's the main villain again, which is unlikely to happen as despite being a very well-known character by longterm fans of the series (he was the boss of Tekken 3 after all), he consistently ranks near the very bottom of characters requested to return. I honestly think there's a better chance we'll see P. Jack come back before Ogre. That being said, if the rumors are true that Tekken 8 will delve into the story and relationship of Jin, Kazuya, and Jun, then it isn't entirely impossible that Ogre may make some sort of appearance. After all, Jun's story is intrinsically linked with Ogre. Not only that, but Ogre itself has never been given any sort of concrete explanation as to what it even is.

Gosh this is so damn amazing! I would love to see a remastered tekken 3. Jin and ogre/true ogre were the characters I played as a lot. I also really like to use Gun Jack, his design was brilliant, I would love to see his skin make a return.

The scenes where they just show of their moves is still the best in Tellen 3.

he was still using his newer style in the video jin didnt use those stances at all with his blend of the mishima and kazama fighting style. only real reason they got rid of it till tekken 5 was how overpowered it was compared to the rest of the characters in tournament play but now with devil jin using it in modern times its pretty balanced out but now he wont use it for plot reasons.

I miss true ogre so bad. Tag 2 was the first tekken I played after learning how to actually play fighting games, and I mained true ogre/Armour king. I miss my boy.

From what I heard after being betrayed by heihachi in tekken 3 he basically disowned the style altogether. That's y after tekken 3 and tekken tag his fighting style is different going forward

​@@SPJ1023 yet as devil he's got the same style as in 3. It makes sense to have a character that is not a carbon copy of Kazuya. But then making a devil version of Jin pretty much ruined the attempt to distinguish the two, moves wise.

@@S5000Krad it kind of makes sense tho. His devil form doesn't really have any morales. All it cares for is power. The Mishima style is considered one of, if not the strongest fighting style in the tekken universe, so it's right up its alley. I do luke that he also uses Jun's style too but I would have wished that Jin kept using that in his base form
