Teine Sa - The Ancient Ones: Episode 1 Teine Sā
Ойын-сауық
An ambitious young artist will stop at nothing to make her new exhibition a success, and tramples on a sacred family heirloom in the process. She unwittingly invites herself into the world of the ancient spirit Telesā - the protector of the old ways.
In Samoa, they cover their mirrors at night time. Some believe that if you wake up and look into a mirror, you will see a shadow over the top of your reflection and it is a demon looking into your soul. A spirit goddess named Telesā.
She is one of the Teine Sā, spirit women who are neither human nor God. They are beautiful, and often cruel spirits who are motivated to protect and influence women who they deem worthy of their gifts.
Some believe they can both bless and curse people. Others believe that breaking the rules and crossing the Teine Sā comes with more fatal consequences.

💖💖 Stunning!! Being Maori, I think we and our pasifika whanaunga ALLLLL innately recognize the tapu/sacred world of our Atua/Gods as they are depicted in songs n stories n designs and carvings handed down from our tupuna/ancestors. And i think that the majority of us are taught in no uncertain terms of it's importance and to respect its significance as it's of a higher realm and most importantly, it ain't NUTHIN to play with👌💯‼ With that being said..... I absolutely LOVE seeing our own Maori and Pasifika stories being told within the context of a modern day scenario.... makes it easier to comprehend when we relate and make the connection to our lives today. Powerful.... I could imagine this clip being the trailer to a FABBBBULOUS feature film!! Nga mihi ki nga kaiwhakaritenga o te kiriata nei. Faafetai Lava 💖💖

AMEN SIS! I always look to NZ because all of our cultures are showcased for everyone to be educated
My gosh Frankie Adams, still has time from her busy Hollywood schedule to do episodes in lil old NZ...what an amazing piece , we need more stories like this
Careful what you wish for.."what goes around comes around"😌..This is why you have to listen to our elders 💛...I love this...magaia le puega....malo lava💛✨
Damn that's why I don't mess with the spirit world like whistling at night sweeping outside at night or cutting your hair at night because that all is bad luck or when coming from a burial make sure you spit before entering so no bad spirit followed you in the house. My family have so many ghost stories n legends that is very spooky. Back in the 1920s 1930s in Tonga my great grandpas older brother havea was playing around climbing trees after school then suddenly found a weird shaped ball n he took it home. He showed his mom the ball n she put it away then the next day while cleaning she saw two women standing outside knew something was up because the tauvala n clothing they wore was of the olden days n they were saying return the king's head return the king's head. She looked at the ball n found it was a wrapped mat she unwrapped it and it was a skull. So she wrapped it in a new mat n add some small gifts with it n told havea to put it where he found it, the next morning the women were gone. Turns out that the head belong to one of tui Tonga kings, I have many more stories n legends like that.

Love this but I hope all those involved done a prayer before any filming started. Samoan culture should be shared with the world but there are some things that are tapu and shouldn't be touched.

Hi! Sorry to disturb, but, I was wanting to ask, what things are considered tapu? Like, I'm a Pacific islander aswell, but I dont know much about my culture... so I'm practically piggy back riding on others to explain stories and things that are tapu to me

@@whalus_gigantus I’m not Samoan but I’m Māori and based on what ik about tapu items, places or people, these things and people have some history and polys are very spiritual. Especially when it comes to what our ancestors have been through, any rituals, or spiritual battles and generational curses, or even just respecting sacred traditions like the making of something then turning it into a special gift that is then passed down many generations. These spirits can come through and use items or people as a portal. Not to mention using the items in a way it’s not intended/in the wrong use. So the ie toga is quite sacred and respected and only used in certain situations, not for what she did and for her own good or benefit. (I think) again I’m not Samoan idk exactly the traditions or beliefs. Stay safe tho, God bless

@@whalus_gigantus in between, I think? Like the space between life and death? Or Don’t go mess around with the dead.. something like that.
As a woman with one Rotuman parent, but no cultural knowledge, this terrified me. How does a disconnected diaspora Poly know what not to do/mess with? As soon as she took that mat without permission I knew she was done for. Maybe I just stick to my values and intuition and I will be fine. Maybe I'm already affected and don't even know. Thank you for such provoking content. Blessings to all out there in a similar situation dealing with high anxiety after watching (and loving) this short.

When I was little I heard so many stories about the telesa my grandparents use to tell me stories about them and the rules you have to follow at night I never thought too much about until it happen to one of my cousins and witnessing it scared the living day lights out of me so when it comes to the telesa it’s something you don’t wanna mess around it cause even tho u can’t see them but they are always around protecting samoa I’ve seen things happen in My village that no one should witness. I’ve seen how foreigners come to samoa and disrespect the rules and bad things happen to them in our village we have a woman which we call her the taulasea aka witch she sees everything and she knows everything that happens In the village to other people it sounds scary but Im used to it cause I know we are being protected by the spirits just don’t piss them off and disrespect the VA aka oath
