I fully agree with you regarding going in for these type of coatings. But the question remains on maintaining the shine over a period of time when your car is subjected to the grime of regular use. I have heard that regular washing the car with car shampoo is harmful to the paint. Is there a way out.

Hi there, very informative video. I own a reputed car detailing studio for over 7 years now and we specialize only in detailing (we don't do mechanical service or accessories etc). I'd like to take the liberty to say that I have a fair bit of knowledge about detailing and coatings as its something I take very seriously and have studied a lot on the subject. I agree with most parts of your video but have to disagree on some parts. I agree about the teflon coating provided at the dealership level, they do a hack job which makes the car look shiny for a few days but after that it goes back to square one. In fact they end up putting more defects (like buffer marks and holograms) on the paint rather than enhancing it. This usually happens because of ; A) High volume of cars that visit these big branded service centers everyday. ( which simply equates to less time per car), B) Low skilled/inexperienced people working on cars to lower the labour cost. (skilled professionals are expensive to hire) C) Use of cheap/low quality products. Globally recognised high quality products are really expensive in comparison. But, because some people are fooling their customers, doesn't mean that detailing and coatings are a scam and not required. Detailing and coatings are a globally accepted and needed, especially in harsh conditions like ours where every car has to face extreme pollution and heavy traffic. At our studio we spend hours and hours every day on every car to make sure that every single panel is free from all defects and is gleaming at its maximum capacity. First of all, there are two ways of restoring the cars shine, A) By hiding the defects using glazes and waxes etc (Short term results) B) By removing the defects properly and locking the finish using the correct methods. (long term results) A hack detailer will choose option A to finish the job quickly and move to the nest car but a good detailer will always choose option B as its the only sincere way to go about it. Secondly, coming to the COATINGS. High quality/OEM approved COATINGS like carnauba waxes, paint sealants and ceramic coatings are NOT BAD for the paint. In simple terms, you're adding a layer of protection on top of the clear coat to further enhance its life. These coatings have many benefits like ; A) Reducing the damage caused Ultra Violet rays. B) Adding depth to the colour of cars. (deep gloss/wet look) C) Making cleaning much easier. These coatings are hydrophobic and repel dust and water. and many more. High end ceramic coatings can even keep cars looking good as new for many years if the coating comes from a respectable manufacturer and the application is done correctly. You can totally avoid these coatings if you like but in that case if you want the car look good as new for a long period of time, then you have to wash the car religiously each time using proper washing methods like the two bucket wash system etc, which ,honestly, most people never do. These coatings just give you a bit of edge when it comes to daily maintenance at home and keep your asset in great shape for years. Good video overall but slightly incomplete.

Deep varshney it matters on your driving style, just open engine cap and smell it, if it smells burned change it or do it after 10000km, if you have Mercedes c63 amg, it is 25000. and for nissan, even the gtr have 10000km oil change logue, check your car owner manual every thing mentioned there, and stay safe from the marketing people, just say no to them. best regards

Very helpful advice, I hope this will help lots of folks. I keep my car in Showroom condition buy washing it everyday and Park it in garage. Even my 10 years old car looks almost new.

ceramic Coating is good if it is available with a good discount, companies bahut si chijein nhi deti hai jaise seat covers, matting, high power headlights just to save production time and overall cost of the car. teflon is a very softer material which lasts only for about 7 days max and after that it is worn out. on the other hand ceramic coating is a well know coating which is used by many people through out the world. ceramic coating needs a curing time of about 24 to 48 hrs minimum which will increase the overall production time of the car by a significant amount isiliye car makers aisi koi bhi coating car pe krke nhi dete. Car ki cost and production time bahut matter krta h company ke overall revenue par. and agar car companies pahle se coating nhi krke de rhe to iska matlab ye nhi h ke ceramic coating kharab chij hai, I have my car coated 1 yr back and it still feels like new and cleaning and washing efforts has been very less due to its hydrophobic nature. pahle istemaal krein fir vishwas krein, sirf serious face bna ke baat bolne se baat sahi nhi ho jaati sir. PS - Ceramic coating ya PPF krawaye bas iske alawa kuchh mat krwayen and wo bhi ye certified and well known brand se. dhoka dene walon se bachein kyunki wo ceramic ke naam pe teflon coating kr denge or paise ainth lenge. teflon sirf 2500 rupee me hoti hai or ceramic 20000 se to start hoti hai baaki layers badhate jao or rate badhta jayega.

Teflon coating ekdam bekar hai per anti rust painting jo car niche yani chassis per painting karbana bohut joruri hai jo baris ke season mein chassis ke niche ko rust hone se bachata hai.
