TEEPUBLIC: Top 5 BEGINNER MISTAKES

Teepublic can be a great print-on-demand platform, but it is NOT the same as Redbubble, Merch by Amazon or Society6. In this video, I break down the common pitfalls that new artists face when uploading and trying to sell their print-on-demand products on Teepublic.

Thank you so much for all the great information! I have spend so much time watching other videos on this topic on KZread and yours is the best by far! Especially your longer, detailed videos have been so helpful. You lay out the info very simply and in small bit size amounts so it's easy to understand .... appreciate your work thank you!

Another great video so nice to hear your cool calm voice and not over-excited fantasists Can I ask How do you actually see the items being sold because when you go in sales it just shows earnings not which products?

Great question - I get an email each time there is a sale - it shows the product sold, the design and the margin. There is also a report that you can run that shows sales history too.

They will also ban your account for using public domain images. Like they did with mine. Deleting your store because they won't make it searchable, is just a waste of time. When they can keep doing it over and over again.

Hi, first of all, thank you so much for your videos, they really are informative and easy to follow. I have a Teepublic store (stencilmyst1, if it helps...). That store was banned once by Teepublic. it happened after I contacted them because I could not see my content after doing a search. After some time and some emailing I managed to get the store back up and running. I still can't find my designs when I try searching for them and, because of what happened the first time around, I'm a bit spooked about contacting them about that again. But the funny thing is, I have sold items from that store, twice, so I am really confused. People must be able to find my designs if they have sold, but I can't find them when I try searching for them? Any ideas about what could be going on?

Hello Sir, First of all, I like to thank you for this amazing content. I am a little bit confused about the first mistake you've mentioned. I have a design uploaded about valentines day and I type the title in the search bar and I haven't found my design but guess what, I've made 2 sales on that specific design, so what is the deal? If you please clear this confusion of mine, that will be so kind of you.

That is very interesting - my understanding is that designs might not show up in the Teepublic search results, but sometimes they do show up in the Google search results. Maybe someone found it that way? It is very frustrating how Teepublic has weird search. I congratulate you on your sales, that is great!

I got banned from Redbubble. They wouldn't provide me with any explanation as to why. I wasn't using copyrighted material or stealing designs, I have no idea what happened. No clear directions on how to fight it. Anyhow, it pissed me off so bad that I just gave up on POD. In comparison, do you think Tee Public is a good alternative? Can you earn as much on TP? Lastly, do I really need 100 designs for starters or can I start off with 10?

  • @zenwatercooler

If you start up an account on Teepublic and your designs are available in search, then absolutely Teepublic is a great option. Some months I make more on Teepublic (with less designs) then on Redbubble. I think you could do any number of designs (10 for example) - generally speaking the more designs the more chances to make a sale. Go for it, I hope you can get the love for print on demand back!

  • @zenwatercooler

That has not been my personal experience - I have made text-only designs (albeit with a textured background) and those seem to sell pretty well too. I think it comes down to the look and feel (since it is art that will be hanging in someone's house).

Hey there - I have never run into a tagging issue (tags themselves aren’t trademarked) - it is an interesting question though. I would personally steer away from any tags that represent trademarked designs in general just to avoid the bot flagging one of your designs in error. My opinion only!

I was wondering. If you have a redbubble account, is it harder to sign up to teepublic without them terminating your account within 24 hours since they are together, or is it that teepublic have become arrogant gits and don't want anymore sign ups and if that is the case they are digging their own grave. They should state what they want and stop giving people/artists high hopes. What is wrong with them.

I suspect Teepublic to have an ideological huge bias. They tend to purify their marketplace from almost anything out of designs related to LGBTQ, woke, wiccan, black magic, gore, psychopatic themes, new age, spiritual and religious stuff, modern art, sensless subjects like the famous astronaut character, unicorns, weird stuff and all kinds of superficial topics and unexpected combinations. Avoid that site. It's more like a culte than a business
