"It" really deserved a spot on this list.

Charlie's Angels is originally a TV show and ran between 1976 and 1981.

Jamanji with the Rock is not a remake, its a continuation of the series. The film is the third installment in the Jumanji film series and a stand-alone sequel to Jumanji.

Is this whole video a remake? I swear I've already seen it! Also, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a sequel, not a remake. It starts with the board game turning itself into a videogame so Alex will play it; inside the game, Alex acknowledges that the hideout he's using was built by Alan Parrish, Robin Williams' character in the 1995 movie.

I like the Jim Carrey Grinch movie but I would definitely take the Chuck Jones animated version over it any holiday. Also it's so strange how they all picked the Jim Carrey version when at the time critics hated that movie.

Jumanji 2017 was not a remake pople, do your research. There is a scene in the 2017 movie when they are in the tree house that Alex lives in and you see a carving of Alans name from 1995s Jumanji that he was there which makes 2017 a continuation.

Yeah If they had called it a Reboot then that would be closer. Definitely not a remake as you say the treehouse and a few other things clearly shows this is a continuation of the original story.

I dispute jumangi. It's not a remake, it's a continuation. That's why the hut had Robin's characters name on it.

Should have showed scene for scene. In the Dune comparison, both movies have that same fight scene.

you are right. It's the sequel that they call the remake in this. You can clearly see at the end of the first movie that they dump it in the ocean and at the start of the second one it is found at the beach.

How could anyone choose the new Grinch? So sad... And yes, the remake was good. (Just think they worked too hard to stretch it to a full movie) But the original Grinch!!! The song! Boris Karloff!!! Perfect!!!

Technically, the 1954 version of "A Star is Born," starring Judy Garland, is NOT the original. There was also one from 1937 (and another from 1976, starring Barbra Streisand).

You people are confused. The 1954 A Star is Born with Judy Garland was not the original, it was a remake. The original was 1937 with Janet Gaynor. And there was a second remake in 1976 with Barbra Streisand before the third one with Lady Gaga.

Again this _Star Is Born_ is not the original, but it is often seen as the original.

Facts! I mentioned this before the original was from the 30's and they also remade it in the 70's with Barbara Striesand. I swear these guys never learn or read the comments or do proper research.

Adaptation. A remake has to be with the same culture. An adaptation is taking a movie from a certain culture and transform into the new culture,changing half of the OG or even most parts !!!

U guys clearly dont pay attention to the movies cyz Charlie's angels is not a remake its a continuation. They clearly connect that film to every Charlie's angels show and movies together so its not a remake

Zathura was another book by Chris Van Allsburg (who also wrote Polar Express)

Would have been better if you had shown similar scenes, cant make an educated descision on what was seen here.

2 things to take away from this video. 1 Jumanji is not a remake it's a sequel. 2 Star Wars was not inspired by Dune. George Lucas had 4 inspirations when he made Star Wars, Akira Kurosawa movies, WWII airplane dogfights, John Carter of Mars , and Flash Gordon.

The OG parent trap was so much better than the Lindsay Lohan one. I was so pissed when they remade it. Haley Mills FOREVER!

Jumanji is a sequel not a remake, so you can't give it a fair comparison. Both are great movies, completely different from each other. Robin Williams is always iconic. But the sequels have a "Freaky Friday" body switching element, which they all do a great job with (but especially Jack Black). Of the ones I've seen: Parent Trap - Original Freaky Friday - tie - this one is really too close to call The Grinch - original Charlie's Angels - remake I haven't seen the remake of Willie Wonka, but there's no way it beats the original. Haven't seen either of the rest of the movies.

Jumanji 2017 wasn’t a remake, it played tribute to Robin Williams character.

You can't say that Jumanji from 2017 is a remake of Jumanji 1995, a remake would have the same story line with just a few things different and both of the Jumanji's have a different story line in my opinion.

it's an adaptation of the Broadway musical. The Broadway show is great but the film adaptation was pretty poor.

I know this is old, but can't belive i didn't comment on this before. Original or remake, for Charlie's Angels it's a series yes, but i think it should've been there. It's the ultimate OG.

If he has really never seen anything with Julie Garland, you are now obligated to do a reaction to The Wizard of Oz, having them watch the full movie.

I tried watching the remake once and ut gave me a headache. I much prefer the original with Boris Karloff.

Jumanji and Charlie’s Angels are NOT remakes they’re long distance sequels because in Jumanji you see “Alan Parrish was here” meaning that’s the jungle Alan had to wait 26 years in in the 1995 movie and in Charlie’s Angels when retiring Bosley they’re showing old photos of him with the 2000 movie cast. So how about creating a video to do with movies that have a long distance sequel.

I have to write that if you're comparing Willy and charlie, you have to take into account that tim burton's actually had more of the book in it than the original, but I'd still side with gene wilder

The original Parent Trap was _mostly_ Haley Mills. However during over the shoulder shots there was a body double. She has a recent video talking about it on KZread, it's a really sweet video, talking about how great it was and I loved how Walt Disney was called Uncle Walt by all the kids.

The actress that plays "aunt vive" in tthe 1998 remake of Parent trap plays the evil "stepmother" in the original parent trap. Just a littel fun fact for you guys.

Jumanji isn’t a remake!!!!! It is a continuation. The place nick jonas lived in was Alan Shepard’s. It was supposed to be a continuation of the story because every time someone gets the game it evolves. Plus I feel like I saw this video already. Parent Trap -- the mom on the original played the mother-in-law in the remake. Dune -- the 1984 version was bad, 2021 version was good, 2000 version was better.

I chose the Original for the ones I saw: "Parent Trap", "Jumanji" (Robin Williams?!! Come on!), "Freaky Friday", "Mean Girls", "Willy Wonka" (Gene Wilder is way better.)

The original Parent Trap is better in my opinion...... And, the original Jumanji will always be the Best!! 💯💯💯💯💯

I said that under original video, i'm gonna say it here too. Original animated Grinch was supposed to be compared to animated movie by Illumination studio, not the life action one. Or you coukd show them all 3 options.

Actually the original Charlie's Angels is the one from the 70's with Farah Fawcett, Jacquelin Smith and Kate Jackson.

It feels weird that the scenes we saw from the original Jumanji aren't any of the scenes with Robin Williams.

You can't say you like the remake or the OG better for that matter if you hadn't seen both movies. Do better!

You didn't compare the same scene in Dune where they are fighting with the shields on. How can you compare?

The Grinch comparisons are not fair. The OG was made as a hand drawn animated, thirty minute tv show on a very limited budget. The remake was designed as a full length feature film with multi-million dollar backing. If they are going to compare things at least have the two in the same ball park.

So Parent Trap and Freaky Friday actually ARE remakes, despite both being based on books. Parent Trap’s source (an oft-filmed German book called Das doppelte Lottchen) isn’t a comedy, and almost all the farcical elements (the prank war, the whole reunion thing) are from the Hayley Mills movie. In the book, father Ludwig is a respected and somewhat aloof composer/conductor, while mother Luiselotte has a more modest lifestyle. Meanwhile, Freaky Friday’s book is told entirely from Annabel’s perspective. In the book, the mother is responsible for the switch but we never find out how.

Mean Girls wasn't really a remake, it's a movie version of the stage musical version of the original movie. Not exactly the same thing.
