People often forget the difference between being alone and feeling lonely. You can be alone and totally content, but feeling lonely when there’s plenty of people physically around is an awful feeling.

No one is perfect and there will always be mistakes, but being open about drug addiction (as well as Depression and Eating Disorders, for her) lessens the stigma so more people (especially young people) feel the like they can reach out for help. She deserves the world.

Asha Ell how do you know that? How do you know people close to her didn’t help her. You can’t help someone who don’t want help. You can’t help someone who’s not ready to take that help and get better. This is really sad but it’s still on her. She made the choice no one else. She had family, friends and fans who supported her but she relapsed, and that happens. Don’t blame people around her. Ultimately the blame should be put on her.

Some people keep saying it was her choice but you have to understand that when you’re an addict, it’s not your choice anymore. Your brain chemistry has literally been changed and it is a fight with their own selves to stay sober and addicts need all the support they can get to fight it. Demi had a relapse but now what matters is that she gets back to fighting her addiction.

Also just a psa if someone in your family has an addiction, you should be careful around things that can become addictive, because it's hereditary.

I think people forget that not everyone does a drug simply because of peer pressure but because they want to run away from their problems and feel numb. It’s not always just because they want to experiment and or peer pressure.. I feel for ever addict because so come from a family of addicts but I feel more for Demi because she actually fought for a change in herself and wanted to make resources available for teens with the same battles. She was clean for 6 years god forbid she relapsed it’s normal for addicts to relapse, unfortunately. But now everyone is calling her a crackhead... if you can support one addict you don’t support any.

I just want to point out that Demi has a bipolar disorder, a lot of issues with the world in 2018 is mental health is still so stigmatised and there isn’t a lot of support for people. 1 in 4 people suffer from some sort of mental health problem, myself included and because they’re not getting the support they need to live a day to day life they chose to pick up a bottle or chose to take a drug that made them forget. Speed/Amphetamines is similar to the effects of caffeine. It makes you feel strong and able to do anything, so they keep taking them to feel better than their reality. They’re addicted to not feeling like themselves.

Not to just Demi, but everyone here that is struggling with mental health and/or addiction, you are not alone no matter how much it feels like it. The first step is admitting to yourself you need help. Talk to someone, anyone. And I encourage you to go to a centre that will give you the support you need. Don't do it for anyone else, do it for yourself, because you deserve to be happy and healthy. I wish you all the best. ❤️

The one thing I heard the most in this video is that 'demi has so many fans how can she not be lonely', but she does not know her fans on a personal level. If she is feeling a certain way she cant go tell her fans how much she's hurting or how much she needs help. It could be too personal of a story to tell. We all know how long it took her to open up through her documentary. Fans are fans. They aren't close friends or close family members. They can't stop by Demi's house to check up on her every now and then. Thus why she feels lonely.

Shes calling for help as shes struggling and through her words you can hear how she feels helpless and shes sorry she cant stop it. I lost my borther to a overdose back in 16 and its hurt me deeply. Addiction hold onto you and its hard to shake. My mom was addicted as well but made a recovery and is sober for 3 years today. Her insperation to het clean was her kids. People dont see this can happen to anyone. It can happen to YOU. And its a fight to release those heavy chains. Relapse is a easy thing to happen. If you are addicted please get help . Someone loves you. Someone misses you. Rest in piece to all who’ve lost their lives.

In my opinion, you don’t have to agree with this, but it makes sense that some singers feel alone. Or even anyone in the spotlight. They have so many people looking up to them, that they feel they have to be a role model. But we have to understand is that’s not always easy. There have been times where someone that’s been looked up to for so long begins to crack and mess up. Instead of judging them we have to stand with them. I’ve been scrolling through the comments and people are judging Demi constantly. Listen to these kids. We need to do better. I love Demi and I have looked up to her for so long. I know her struggles, hope you guys do too. Thank you for listening.

Its totally understandable that Demi fears losing fans and respect for relapsing and she fears not being a good role model but I think one of the reasons that she is such a fantastic role model is because she always picks herself back up and gets even better. I think that the hardest part about this omg was hearing the lyric “and I’m sorry for the fans I lost, who watched me fall again, I wanna be a role model but I’m only human” and it’s because I’m a big fan of Demi Lovato. She saved my life, she truly did, so to hear that fans like me would leave because she was true issues isn’t okay. And it’s wrong.

Many people are saying that it's not fair for people to be feeling sympathy towards her. To those people it is fair. We are only publicizing this because she is a person in the public eye. If it's someone you know, you sympathesis with the family. This is the only way we can show we care about people with this issue and to show them support. Be kind in this world and try to remember we are all human and deserve respect. ❤️

These kids have so much to learn. Not every addict was "experimenting". I am 5.5 years recovered after first becoming addicted to the painkillers I was prescribed for chronic pain after a car accident. When they stopped doing anything I was already an addict and honestly didn't see a reason not to try other things to find a way to stop the pain. I hope that they never learn first hand but seriously there are so many ways other than "experimentation" to end up an addict.
