Love your podcasts !! I wanted to ask if do you think it would be interesting to talk about the topic of Brunei in the media recently obviously their new laws arent great. However I think theres a lot to dig into besides the obvious that it is wrong to judge people on their sexuality and condemn them to a punishment. I don't know if you have ever been but it is a lovely peaceful country and its sad how the media has presented brunei now as a savage country. What do you think of Islamic convention and the alternative of ignoring sacred text and following western conventions of how laws should be ? It could touch on a lot of things, comparing christian rights and wrongs in the bible that might not be accepted in modern day ? The line between respecting religion and changing it to modern norms ? Do you think western media handled things correctly ? Effectively demonising a country to the rest of the world ? f brunei is ok with it, should other countries interfere ? There are loadddsss of things and I love hearing your opinion on things.

I used to love the dentist as a kid (I also liked going to the doctor. I was a weird kid and I'm now only realizing). As an adult I don't like the dentist, especially when they do cleanings and they scrape at your teeth with those metal picks. I feel like they don't have to go that hard. I know I don't have a lot of plaque, if I even have that many. I also had braces, rubber bands, headgear, and the bridge under roof of your mouth (that had to be tightened every night) during my entire high school. My brother never had to get braces (he had to get veneers from a trampoline accident though), but he has glasses.

Having said all that...MAN, I DONT RECOMMEND listening to this podcast in public. I am a big black woman working in Taiwan, yes Taiwan. I was in a grocery store and when you said " I look like a healthy vagina" I literally Laughed Out Loud. I mean I stand out already so I get looks, but I've never had that many eyes on me before. When I got home, I made sure to get online to write to you. Also, I don't know you but I am truly proud of you because you have gone through somethings and have always been honest and true to you. Congratulations and may you have even greater success

Hey man, pay is good ($15/h) and I only file the photos on the weekends. 90% of the photos are just regular cleaning (they take a rotating tip and just brush your teeth) or bleaching, neither of which are really bad. Once in a while you have to look at a removed tooth, but I’ve never had to look at the place it came from, plus I’ve seen my own wisdom teeth so it’s not shocking. I promise it’s more interesting than it sounds!

20:05 the closest is Bahasa Melayu (Malay) the words are about 85% similar and in standard form can be understood either way. Tagalog is Austronesian as well but a very distant cousin to both languages- a lot of similar words but different syntax. A Malaysian can get around easily in Indonesia and vice versa.

2 years later, still fun. that "talking like a girl" bit was relatable as a korean american. but in my case, it's when i'm not hitting the right honorifics and having a hard time speaking formally with people who are 1 to 3 years older than me. i got over it eventually, but just imagine talking to a cousin's friend who i have no relationships with like the dude was my bro or my best friend. as an american, whatever... we talk like that casually, no problem. but as a korean, cringe... especially when i was 16 at the time. if you watch anime or k drama, you know what i mean... i should have paid more attention to it... if i was bad at speaking korean, it would be passable as trying to speak korean... but i was fluent enough to the point where i have meaningful conversations. so yeah... super cringey. glad i got over that like my life depended on it.
