Those mirage Turtles are pretty great for playmates. Stoked to custom paint a set. Can’t wait to see Donnie and Mikey.

Wish they sold the stranger things figs on their own, these might be my favorite so far. The styalized feel works really well.

It sucks because there are a lot of decent turtle figures that I like. But the 2003 designs in that show as a whole is the reason I have such a good memory of TMNT, if they were to start a line focused on that group I would be in but for now I just watch Robo’s videos and get excited at his excitement

Did you see the new Super7 TMNT 2003 figures?

Interesting that they went new tooling fir this particular set when they put the old cartoon classics mold into an insane amount of packs.

What you said at the end gives me some hope, specifically when applied to the Turtles. I grew up with the 2003 Turtles, so while I like what I see of the figures of the 80s Turtles, they're just not MY turtles. But maybe... one day I'll have my Turtles in plastic form... one day 😢

seems like the 03 Turtles are the most forgotten of all. Too old for newer lines and too modern for nostalgic lines. I dont see them coming into style anytime soon either. Guess we will see.

I dig them. My daughter is excited for them. I think I’ll do a little paint work to the turtles to make things pop a bit.

Not going to lie, I dig this. I'm not usually as big on the Mirage look, but it kinda works here. The real stars are Eleven and Hopper here, though. I feel like Donatello and Michelangelo are musts, but not sure who to put with them. Maybe Joyce and Mike, or Dustin?

That hopper looks like a good stand in for microchip from punisher

Okay, those turtles are quite nice. If I didn't have the NECA mirage already, they'd be a very nice alternative. Edit: although when compared to the NECA originals, they do pale in comparison. But still, not too bad, considering.

Neca is planning to make another mirage tutles but I heard they are not going to be the same as the previous one they made way back.

Legit almost had a heart attack thinking they were released early, this video was certainly a surprise

1:18 - liked that you mentioned the background. Gives me an excuse to mention something I been thinking about for quite a while now: wouldn't it be cool if figures from the same wave would come with backgrounds that could combine into some sort of diorama-like background? For instance the MCU waves could have a image from the movie where like the Dr. Strange multiverse could have the Shuma Gorath fight divided in the figure's background that would add up to show the movie scene. Or the BoneBreaker wave could have backgrounds that added up would show an image taken from a comic spread pages or something. Better than the standard ones we got and not really that hard to do if you think about it. Plus it would have another reason for people to buy the whole wave added to the BAF figure which would be the business side of things. I dunno. Just seem to me like a missed opportunity every time I buy figures from the same wave... 🤷🏻‍♂️ EDIT: and that trend could be for any line from different companies. GI Joe, Marvel, DC, Spawn, WWE, everything.

While I don't collect the Turtles, I'm sorely tempted to get these , great review.

The bootlegs aren't which are the same molds as the official neca and they are making molds based on the return to New York arch geometric shape look than doing the Beak look

Interesting set. Cool Mirage style turtles. Plus, you get civilians for toy photographers. Too bad the articulation on those are single joints. 10:20 perfect size

Target has finally marked the first two of these sets down. I got the Raph and Leo sets for $12 each. Not sure when the other 2 sets will get marked down, but hopefully I'll be able to grab them as well.

I wish every collector was as cool headed as Robo. I swear, some collectors have made youtube videos screaming rage that these even exist, and yelling at playmates. With so many embarrassing toy collectors out there it’s nice to have someone like Robo or Toygalaxy to point to as proof there’s such a thing as an actual adult collector. 👍

I really wasn't prepared to like these as much as I do. Turtles are a little tall, I'd like better articulation for the neck, ankles, and hips, wrists too, but I really like the base body. Hope they get some more use. The animated rendition for Stranger Things is really well done. Good job playmates you won me over.

Cool looking figures

The more modern turtle figure was based on the 2012 show design. A great, fun show.

The walkman looks like some kind of bizarre betamax audio tape compared to the humans. Not to mention the headphones look like they're military surplus lol

Gonna pass on these, but admit they look much better in hand than the promo shots. Regarding the walkmans and headphones, I'll never understand how toy companies make accessories that clearly do not fit the figures they are packed with.

I remember that 80's Stranger Things Saturday morning cartoon. I used to get up at 6AM to watch it. Classic. I think Peter Cullen voiced Hopper.

These are much nicer than I was expecting. I might be tempted to pick these up. I'm not sure about the whole crossover aspect of this line but I do enjoy the styles of both sets of characters. If I do get into these, I will probably split the turtles from the Strangers Things characters in my display.

The fact that Playmates cheapened out so much on the turtles is not only a damn shame, but also doesn't justify a price tag of 39.99 either

I ended up getting all of them, even though I thought it was silly to get all of them, but I am aware of the TMNT past. Yes, they all have red bandannas. But it’s a bit weird because you can just pop a stick onto the Leonardo figure and he becomes Donatello. It’s a bit overwhelming with somebody who collects figures on display. But if you keep them in the box. Collecting all of them is perfect for you. I would recommend just getting the ones you like the best if you take them out of the box. I went with Leonardo It’s basically a two in one if you have weapons for all laying around. Lolll

Did I miss the Turtle bodies are the same, just different heads and weapons? So comic era accurate TMNT, show accurate humans? Elle does look a bit cartoony, but Hopper could work in either live action or cartoon. I do like that Hopper could be himself, Magnum, Chuckles, or some drunk from Miami Vice. They messed up the pairings, tho. Mike/Mike, Lucas/Leo, Dustin/Donny, Raphael/…Steve? (Is it Stephen? Is there an R-name, not Argyle?), and Elle/April. That leaves Hopper/Splinter, and Shredder/Vecna. Then Mousers/Demodogs.

Neat set(s). I spot no UKCA marking on the bottom of the box which means they aren’t coming this way (unfortunately). Think they missed the target by making the Turtles a little on the large side. A bit smaller and this set(s) would be great! Showing those old NECA Mirage TMNT makes me appreciate just how damn fine that set is!
