Love me some disco aBBA. The Voulez Vous album is right up there as the best and there are several Disco bangers on it. As good as new, Angel eyes, if it wasn't for the nights, kisses of fire and of course Voulez Vous but there was also Summer night city which didn't make the original album One of my favourite ABBA tracks is "Lay all your love one me" but that is more of a Dance track and came later.

Chase, I think you would have been going nuts on the dance floor with the rest of us. 😄

Written during a writing session in the Bahamas. They recorded the backing track at Criteria Studios in Miami with members of the disco group Foxy. The only Abba song apart from live songs recorded outside of Sweden.

And from 4 Swedes! 🙂 I was thinking earlier about why you're enjoying all the Abba songs, and I think it's not just the great songs and the great performances, but another thing is the great production on all of their songs. At the time, in the 70s and 80s, a lot of people were down on Abba because they were so 'polished'. but that's why they still sound so good after 40-50 years, they're like diamonds, they're forever.

@@christianoazzuro6711 In a month or 2 it will be 50 years since I was sitting in front of the Eurovision that night seeing ABBA for the first time, they had me with a hook in my throat straight away. I never got away, I was more convinced of their genius with every album, despite what my pals at school said. This was what all ABBA fans had to put up with, until Muriel's Wedding (the movie) made them uber-cool... then, I kid you not, sometime around the turn of the century, I was standing in my kitchen at a very drunken party with some other middle-aged men, and every one of us knew all the words to every ABBA song, we sang them all to each other that night, it was glorious. Never believe anyone who tells you they're not an ABBA fan, it just means they haven't heard them yet.

"That is my new favorite" is something you often say, and I think, well suited for a t-shirt. Though I myself have more t-shirts than I know what to do with, so I will not be buying regardless.

"I'm Still Alive" is not properly an ABBA song. It was composed and sung by Agnetha alone. So it should be attributed to her precious solo career. However it was performed by her during the historic ABBA concert at the Wembley Arena, London in 1979; and she also played piano while singing. "Disillusion" also was composed by her. Probably the only one ABBA song not composed by Benny, with lyrics added by Björn. It is included in their very first album Ring Ring (1973) and it's perhaps the most beautiful hidden gem of their whole repertoire. Just for this reason my favourite ABBA song.

Your pronunciation of Agnetha is fine, don't worry about it, the e-sound could be a bit more like the e-sound of "ear" or "near" though. The English e-sound sounds like you're saying an "i", to us it sounds like you're saying "Angnita". Say Björn as it rhymes with yearn (or learn or earn not born or corn), but not "Bee-yearn", but "B-yearn". Like when you say "Benny", you don't say "Bee-Enny".
