And then someone like Kate (because she's canonically still alive, we just don't know here she is) frees the Nogitsune because it's Kate and he immediately starts nogitsuning all over the place. Maybe even appearing as Claudia in order to trick Stiles into coming back and forcing the Stilinski men to confront their grief.

So they didn't bring back Dylan O'Brian, who's the fan favorite and is integral to the story. They killed off Derek, who's another fan favorite. They didn't bring back Kira, who's also integral to the story. And to top it off, they brought back Allison just to put her back into her relationship with Scott so that he could have the happy ending that he didn't deserve while everyone else got screwed over. Do I have that right?

the most ironic part about bringing back the nogitsune is that, like…people didn't like the nogitsune because it was such a wonderful villain as a concept. they liked the nogitsune because of how it messed with the main cast and specifically how it possessed Stiles and let Dylan O'Brien flex all over the place. take stiles away and he's just a boring invincible villain.

It really feels like Jackson was supposed to be Stiles in this movie, and they just did the bare minimum to rewrite him to fit after Dylan O'Brien declined. That's why he's the one doing detective stuff (While confused), supporting Lydia and never transforming or doing anything supernatural, despite being one of the most physically powerful creatures in the show.

Omg yeeess that makes so much sense now!!! Because after S6 Jacksons a badass with a TAIL! He has paralytic venom!! So how was the undead teacher pushing him around? But if it was stiles, yh makes sense Jeff always liked putting stiles in positions where only his mouth could get him out. I know how that sounds but lets keep it PG 🤦🏽‍♀️😅 But it also proves how much he regressed all the characters except like Derek. Because after 15 years Stiles wouldve probably been an FBI agent with a gun and training.. Or a deputy at the Sheriff’s department at the very least, with a gun and training! He wouldnt be vulnerable to being pushed around either but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Typical Jeff Davis plot!

Don't understand her point in it beside them telling us she's dating the hellhound. Half the cast was not important or needed and they could have written a better way for Allison to came back if they were gonna use her for fan service.

When i think about it i’m pretty convinced that the reason almost everyone in the main cast agreed to return was because they haven’t had a good acting job in years. Almost all of them just have teen wolf in their resume. Aside from Dylan who’s just good in every role he’s in and Tyler who’s a fantastic superman. Colton Hayes actually fit better in arrow than he ever did in this show and i’m glad he stuck around for 3 seasons. Crystal Reed had a recurring role in 1 season of Gotham but aside from that I didn’t really see much of her despite the fact that she wanted to “Move on to bigger things.” I’m glad Arden turned it down after being treated so poorly on the show.

I've always thought that the reason Dylan chose not to come back, other than Dylan wanting to support Arden cho because of the mistreatment towards her, was because he genuinely realized that he was always too good for Teen Wolf. in a good percentage of the scenes that stiles is in, all of his lines are perfectly executed and the sheer contrast between him and the other characters in the scene with him makes their acting seem worse, even when it is perfectly fine. Dylan O'Brien is such a good actor that he almost needs to be the main character. when you are the main character, it makes sense that you have the best acting skills. when you are the comic relief, it kind of doesn't. Dylan O'Brien was really the definition of the diamond in the rough. the showrunners had no idea what they had and they never appreciated him enough. almost every movie he is in becomes beloved. Love and Monsters? huge success. The Maze Runner? pretty much the only really great thing about those movies was him. Dylan just has an ability to be overwhelmingly genuine in everything he does. I think I've made my point so I'll stop going on and on, but we Didn't deserve Dylan O'Brien as Stiles. we should thank our lucky stars that we got him.

Can we talk about how Derek Hale, who lost the majority of his family because they were BURNED ALIVE, lets himself be BURNED ALIVE VOLUNTARILY in front of the only family he has, namely his uncle (who was originally badly injured and traumatized by the fire) and his son (who is roughly the same age Derek was when he was orphaned)? That is... so painful and insulting to Derek's trauma, and reminds me of the Hound in GoT also dying by fire. The rest of the video cracked me up and made me cringe, but this realization genuinely made something in my chest clench. When I first read that the movie would feature Derek with a teenage son, I immediately knew they were gonna fumble it. I just didn't imagine they would fumble it to such an extent. They gave the man who just lost and lost and lost throughout the series the abstract /concept/ of a happy life (rando kid, sans mom???) and then just... fridged him, in order to give his son the same tragic backstory he had. All for... a potential sequel series? Ouch. Ouch all around.

He deserved to live a happy life with his kid, because he has been having trauma since he was 15. Omg. Being an orphan is not epic, and is not a powerful plot to any future spin off. 100% this, I get wanting to finish Derek's story but this was not it. Death by fire just feels spiteful and I'm so glad I learned of it before I watched the movie, cos now I won't. Derek Hale is the ultimate plot tease, consistently showing potential in the ideas but with botched payoff. And the absolute lack of respect for the trauma be endured is off-putting. Only good thing about the movie is that I imagine it'll spawn more fanfic, I'll take that

Couldn't have said it better myself👏. Aside from different ships or preferences, bringing Hoechlin's Derek back was probably one of the few attractions of the movie, since Dylan wasn't gonna be in it. However as usual all Jeff was able to do, because he is not a capable writer, is heap suffering over suffering on this beloved character hoping that the gut-punch gets an emotional reaction from the audience. In my opinion that is all Derek's character was good for during the entirety of the show: bearing the burden of an incapable spiteful screenwriter who could not make the protagonist more liked for his own merits and needed a crutch to by turns beat down or berate to make Scott's character seem better. That is why I feel what was done here feels just so needlessly cruel and goes beyond lazy writing. It is just insulting to the fans who genuinely cared for this character and wanted to see him reach a measure of happiness at the end of his story.

The problem with Teen Wolf was always that Jeff Davis decided to make a dramatic version of a popular movie and accidentally,(he said he almost didn't hire them because they weren't very good) hired amazing actors who made the flat characters come to life and be lovable. Only we didn't love the characters he wanted us to love, we loved Stiles, Derek, and Kira, and wanted them to have their own arcs but he always just had a hard on for Scallison and therefore went out of his way to shut down the things the fans love out of bitterness. i.e. purposely not writing scenes with Stiles and Derek together and sending Kira off on the crazy journey. Jeff has always been butt hurt that the fans didn't love what he wanted them to love. So no, this was never going anywhere good. Considering how much amazing fanfic there is out there to get inspired by there is no excuse for there not even being a semblance of a plot to this

Honestly, Scott was the most boring character of the show and him and Allison were just cringe. Derek was such an interesting character with so much potential and he was just wasted. Derek and Stiles were my favorite too, and Kira was the best girl for Scott.

If the actress does not wanna come back, and she did leave and did not do much during season 5 already, then there is not much they can do. And they had to bring back the most memorable villain for the movie.

Nah it feels more like a "Just because you should doesnt me You can" aka the movie should've happened, but Jeff wasnt the guy to do it.

I still have one BIG issue. And that issue is that if Allison died 15 years ago and Eli is also 15 then that means he was born in 2011 i.e. Season 1-3 of Teen Wolf. That means he was already born for most of the show and yet Derek clearly had no idea. Where was he all that time? New York? How did Derek not know? And then how did he eventually find out? Is Eli's mom still alive? Is she also a wolf? Did she & Derek have an actual relationship or was it a one-off? I have so many questions.

@@itsproof2 no, the movie takes place in 2023 and season 1 takes place in 2011, derek is literally retconned to have had a kid the entire time who he never mentioned. and obviously you can no-prize it to say maybe the kid's mom didn't tell him until Eli was older, but the fact that the movie doesn't even have a throw away line to establish that is insane. until confirmed otherwise, i'm assuming eli was present in TW the entire time, just out of shot

When you said “by the way all this happened in the BEGINNING” I was baffled. Shook. Flabbergasted. I checked the time stamp. Only halfway in. I would have swore that what you just described took two hours. 😭 Whoever wrote this movie doesn’t deserve their job.

It felt like 2 hours.

My biggest gripe with this movie was that it was STATED in 3B that the Nogitsune could NOT be a Nogitsune and a Wolf at the same time! And now, he just is. Everything else aside that was just the nail in the coffin for me. Dylan and Arden made the best career choice by avoiding this movie like the plague. I wonder if they got a script of any kind or a synopsis and just went “nah we good”

There’s an interview with Jeff Davis where he said that at first Dylan was interested in coming back for a small role. Instead of agreeing to that Jeff gave him an ultimatum, probably trying to lock him into more movies, and Dylan bounced.

Her part wad going to be as small as her replacement’s so they thought they could low-ball her bc it wouldn’t be a full month of work. Absolutely wasted Kira in the series, she would have been VERY useful in the ghost riders arc. And they were only putting her in this movie to *save* Scott. 🤢 The character of Kira deserved better but even Allison deserved better than being reduced to existing for Scott so we should probably all be glad Arden said no. 😅

Where they messed up was in not writing the film around Stiles/O'brien. Him being an FBI agent would potentially have given them so many story possibilities. They had the opportunity to develop something cool yet mature that pushed the characters forward but chose silly, chaotic and unfocused writing. If they didn't have a script when they reached out to O'brien, no wonder he turned them down. Good for him. Serves Davis and company right. What a mess.

This entire movie feels like Jeff Davis’s own personal wish fulfilment. His original plan was to have Allison survive to the end of the show had Crystal not departed from it. I think he viewed this movie as way to rewrite the history of his own show by giving Allison and Scott the happy ending they didn’t get in the original series. It’s like he wrote fanfiction about his own work but not the good kind.

The thing that make it really annoying is that most of the fan don't ship Allison and Scott together. Hell, most fans didn't even start liking Scott character till after him and Allison sperated and his character starting growing up (though going to into Scott relationship in the fandom is roller cost in and of it self). The other thing is that looking back on the show, You relaze how toxic their relationship was and how toxic Allison character was. Allison's whole character was kill all supernatural creatures unless its Scott (her boyfriend) or Lydia (her friend). She did not care about anyone else, till she started falling for Issac. She was fully supported her aunt and was going to kill Derek (how she had no reason or evidence had ever hurt/attacked anyone) in season one till she found out her Aunt was also going to kill Scott, she was fully on board with hurt innocent teenagers. helped her Grandfather kidnapped and torture three teenagers, one of which was human (and who was her boyfriend best friend/brother) and the other two were innocent werewolf who have never hurt/killed/attacked any one and were her 'FRIENDS', she shot arrows in said friends/innocent teenagers.

Did they not realize that what made the Nogitsune such a good villain was Dylan O'Brien's acting or...

Stiles was needed in this movie. not justo from a fan point of view, but the plot itself doesn't work without him. The Nogitsune is his villain, his demon (literally) to fight. 3B wasn't about the trickster fox, if was all about how it affected Stiles and his friends. His absence definitely made them change the script and we got this. Arden was also needed, she was replaced but it wasn't the same.

funny thing about dylan o'brien is that he actually didn't have a problem making a small cameo but Jeff Davis was like "Nah that won't do. it's all or nothing" 💀 As if Dylan isn't one of the casts who has had the most success. He didn't even need this movie. He would have done Jeff a favor. I'm glad Arden Cho refused to join. She deserved a better treatment and equal payment and should settle for nothing less. A part of me is super happy the movie flopped without Stiles and Kira

Omfg!!! I legit said to my friend, Dylan would as a favour do a small cameo, even if it was over the phone. Because he cares about the cast and crew! So when i didnt see the surprise cameo i was confused and disappointed. Now it makes sense. Its giving 'i and this show made you' type energy. I hope not, but maybe thats why Dylan said he agreed with Ardens choice. But yh i agree, the Arden drama soured the movie for me, especially when some of the cast members tried to passive aggressively play down her reasons, saying the movie was for the fans not about money. Cause if that was true then why not match up the payments, how is she the only one paid less. Yh after that I knew. And same I'm a little glad it flopped too. Some sad Karma

And don't forget... Arden Cho was done dirty many times before this. I can remember all too well how horribly the crew behind the scenes had treated her throughout the filming of season 5. Watching the season back, you can see the blatant disrespect. Her character was nullified at nearly every point and constantly written out of episodes. They were cutting out Arden's scenes without informing her. They misled her into believing she would return to season 6, only to basically tell her she was kicked off the last minute. Not to mention they never even sent an invitation to her to return for the shows final episode and the wrap-up party. They even once used her dog for promotional purposes without her permission on the show's social media pages after her firing. Then they come back five years later, offering her a low salary and a week or two of filming. That seems like a spit in the face. Very glad she turned her back on them. Perhaps it was something Arden had done that didn't sit well with others during the filming of the show. But regardless, it doesn't justify the seemingly unprofessional and disrespectful treatment she had received from the production crew. Love or hate Kira (I loved her)... and I know she was only meant for 3B. But both her and the actress most certainly got screwed over.

Umm where did you get that? To my knowledge, she left during season 5, and the reason she appeared in so few episodes and then abruptly quit was at her own decision. Like Will Wheaton leaving Star Trek, she wanted to move on to bigger things and thought a TV show was not good enough for her. That's what I read.

@@user-jp5jq8gb4l she was only one of the only characters that could’ve (and partially did) have the best story arch within the whole show. Malia was the most forgettable character, Scott never changed and that was the problem, Lydia was stretched out to seem bigger than she actually was because a banshee compared to werewolves is mild on the scale and Stile had barely began to simmer from his own great story arch (being possessed). Kira and Stiles were the only best characters in my opinion and I’m glad they stayed away from that train wreck of a movie.

My biggest problem with this film (aside from ALL the other countless flaws you’ve mentioned), is how insultingly they dealt with grief and the loss of a loved one. Deceased loved ones, now matter how badly we can wish for them to come back, never will. They’re dead. It hurts like hell and the only thing you can do is try to process your pain and move on with your life. That’s why I kept believing through the entire movie that Allison would have to disappear again, eventually, and that things would have to get back to the way they were except THEY DIDN’T. I feel so incredibly betrayed that she conveniently came back from the dead and STAYED to fulfill Scott’s void, without ANY valid reason for it. I was such as hardcore TW fan as a teen and this series literally helped me get through so much during those years to the point it still as an impact on me as an adult. Allison was my favorite character and her death destroyed me, but eventually I got over it and accepted that she would never come back, because that’s how it’s supposed to be. Anyways. Exactly, especially since Scott moving on from Allison was so important for his character development and he matured after allison died, they reset his character back in this movie.

I love how there wasn’t even a story reason for stiles to be absent from the plot. Sheriff just says yeah he’s doing other stuff and that’s it

One of the worst things that Teen Wolf did is making the "old ships" come back. The earlier philosophy of teen wolf was yeah heartbreaks are painful , but you will fall in love again. Quote from Scott's mom. And then Stiles ditched Malia out of nowhere for Lydia. And then Scott ditched Kira(written off the show), got with Malia and ditched her too for the reborn Allison. They fucked the ships.

Yup. Hated seeing Stiles go back to Lydia I prefer him with Malia. And that everyone else loved it I guess I was the minority here but I stopped watching after I saw it was going in that direction ugh hated that so much. And Lydia was like oh I now love him wtf when did that happen? And is it me but the two actors don’t have chemistry. Stiles had more chemistry with Malia even Derek. If they were going in that direction they should’ve have fast forward 5 years.

big disagree with the "Stiles ditched Malia out of nowhere" and "for Lydia". there's a full season showing the desintegration of Stiles and Malia's relationship, and it's not about Lydia.

- Peter Hale sniffing the floor like scooby doo was enough to make this dumpster fire worth watching. -That, and also Liam unironically speaking the most broken "white boy in a kimono with his Asian girlfriend" Japanese - The timeskip exists solely an excuse to shoehorn in Derek's teenaged son whose only role is to add more weight to Derek's anticlimactic sacrifice - The Nogitsune is Jeff Davis' Eobard Thawne - 75% of the movie is just Scott running from Allison

Everything Peter did was SO unintentionally hilarious...like his line, "They'll be playing lacrosse, and unknowingly playing the nogitsune's game" LIKE WHAT SHDJDHDJ

Series took a nosedive when Stiles left. He was the glue that connected everything. He was what made scott. Add the fact that he was by far the most talented actor of the bunch and you couldnt expect anything better out of this "movie"

How in the world did they think they would make a Nogitsune story without Dylan/Stiles and Arden/Kira?! That was HIS storyline and she played a big part in it. Not only that but the Nogitsune storyline was the best one they ever did. So glad the Dlyan, Arden, and Cody weren't part of this mess.

I loved that you called out the ridiculousness of the “He’s the alpha” line, because I was making fun of that line SO much whenever the trailer came out. Can you imagine having a serious conversation with someone and he calls another person an alpha? I would back away slowly.

@@javierlopez9789 Because in some parts of social media, there are men who embraces toxic masculinity and they ALWAYS calls themselves an Alpha. Why? Because Alpha are always the higher ranking of the pack, it's the leader so it's supposed to be strong. Using the word Alpha makes them think that it's badass, powerful and stronger than anyone else. When really they're just a bunch of dickheads and bringing everyone down by being toxic (most likely mysoginistic sexist men saying the most common sexist things to women) just to look bigger and more dominant.

Season 3 was, in my opinion, THE BEST season. Bringing such a villain back is a risky choice and they failed. Dylan and Arden were one of the most important.. they were the most important characters with the nogitsune part. Them not joining is okay, it’s their choice. So they (Teen Wolf) should’ve chosen something else. What about the end of season 6? They should’ve carried that one in the movie.. I followed Teen Wolf since it’s release and this just hurts my heart.

Dylan and Arden not joining the cast was an even bigger reason they should've carried on with the season 6 plot. Or a new plot! I'm sure any fic written could've done this movie in so many better ways.

stiles was such a great character because of what he represented he represents the struggle of being a human in a world where the supernatural is real instead of relying on powers he uses his resources like his jeep a roll of duct tape a wrench and his mind to hear he would not be in the movie already made me worried about this movie and then to see it was free on paramount+ and after watching it i was left nothing but disappointed in a series i grew up with

I'm still shocked Tyler H. came back, dude is doing great as Superman and accept the offer after seeing what they would do to Derek? What type of sorcery was used here? Also: Crystal Reed coming back as Allison after leaving the show bc she didn't want to play a teenager after turning 30 and bc she thought she could get better roles in Hollywood is so funny to me. What's next, Nina Dobrev in a Vampire Dairies movie?

Literally Dylan not being there doomed the film to be garbage even before they started filming. There's a reason why 6B is so bad and a large part of that reason is the lack of Stiles.

I could not stop laughing at the riddle scene, the dialogue was insane and it came out of no where. I was thinking is Argent the nogitsune? If so, when did that happen?!! Yes it’s never explained, top tier writing .

Kira left before season 6 even started, no chance she would just show up for a Teen Wolf movie. Also a lot of the actors because of other movies, shows and other reasons and didn’t plan on returning to the show before the movie even started. Not sure why they needed a movie, should have just made a season 7

LOL it was the teacher, he was SUCH a popular fanfic villain between seasons 2 and 3. I even have an unpublished fanfic that I wrote with him as the villain somewhere in my old files. Now I 100% think they mishmashed a bunch of popular fanfic tropes together because they didn’t have any ideas. But they didn’t have any understanding of why those fanfics worked in the first place. (Hint: it’s the character relationships being the main focus of fanfic, the mostly-coherent background plots, the more consistent worldbuilding, and the tendency to embrace the campiness rather than shy from it.)

Okay but if Styles and Lydia are broken up, why aren't Lydia and Parish hooking up? The writers gave so much uncomfortable sexual tension between the two characters that I was genuinely convinced they're going to have a whole adult-minor relationship plotline. They even did a lore dump to explain that Hell Hounds and Banshees have this deeply profound Supernatural connection, which explained all of the tension. And every time Lydia was in trouble, Parish would show up and princess carry her to safety. When Parish was in trouble, Lydia was ready to take out anyone who got in her way to save him. That's just a whole missed opportunity.

FOR REAL. They are the definition of wasted potential like their relationships would be a bit strange (because of the deep romance between Lydia and Stiles that the director (s) tried to show us), but it would be reasonable. They had so much chemistry and physical contact that I was surprised they weren't a thing in the show. Malia and Parrish? What the hell, they barely interacted in the show how could it happen 😿 i guess, the writers just didn't know what to do with these characters to make their line interesting, so they decided to do...this.

I'm guessing they only broke them up cause they needed Scott to be single so he could be with Allison. I guess they probably would explain that it's because she didn't want commitment in a relationship? Since she was only into fucking Parrish and not into a relationship. To be honest it just seems like they had her develop backwards cause she was definitely into a relationship with Stiles. With them spooning and all that.

As an almost 30yo who was obsessed with this fandom in her teens and early twenties, I still cannot get over how much I ended up hating everything about the show in the end, but still loving the characters as they came to be in the hearts of fans. I was kind of horrified to know that they had a movie in the works and was glad DOB turned it down, and how they canonically killed off Derek. Like ugh. I have Jeff Davis so much still. I'm getting pulled into another whirlpool of nostalgia.

That first scene with Parrish and Malia when she grabs his ass was scarring 💀

So many issues involving Davis' own lore from the show. The Malia having a stronger scent made sense when she was first turned human because it was explained as, "Because I was an animal for so long, some of the effects still lingered." But 15 years later would have no reason to have her sniff the nemeton out. The nemeton wouldn't have been able to be sniffed out anyway? The whole point of this mystical tree was that if could not be found unless it wanted, but Allison, Scott, and Stiles were a bit different due to the sacrifice they made. Chris Argent's behavior was really weird but then was explained by the firefly, but even that doesn't make sense. The noguistune possessed people and when he did, everyone knew it because of the spirits cocky attitude. We have never seen firefly's used as anything else other than to show either the oni or the nogistune, so this weird "The firefly is manipulating him," thing is so weird. They laid waste to so many characters but I am most mad about how they treated Peter Hale. This man was the OG villian but he came around with a redemtion arc centered around his daughter and how he actually loves his family. He got the redemption but still remianed a morally grey and snarky character. But he didn't even seem to care about Malia or Derek? In the show, his later seasons were about how he cared for Malia and about how he wanted to protect her, but we got none of that. Final thing (for now), There should be no way in hell that the nogistune is both a wolf and a fox. That was such a vital point in the show. That's what led to the defeat of the nogistune. They spent episodes trying to figure out how to defeat it somehow and it defenitly worked. Him living isn't because he was a wolf as well, it's because he's this unkillable spirit that has one weakness, and suddenly that doesn't exist anymore? This plot line would've been fine if it was a season I feel like. If they filled in the plot holes and gave more development to the characters and the story line I would've really liked it even without Stiles. But they rushed it instead of trying to make something that's quality.

I need someone to tell me it wasn't a fever dream when Tyler Hoechlin said "DID YOU SEE YOUR EYES" with his whole chest In a scene without mirrors or any reflecting surface He dead ass asked if his son could SEE HIS OWN EYES

I didn't know that Teen Wolf was getting a movie, so when I came across the trailer, I legitimately thought it was fan-made. Which might be an insult to fan-made trailers.

Imagine bringing back the most popular villain but NEITHER of the two characters who were directly tied to that villain

"The script was being written in the middle of production." A friend of mine worked on the film. She wore many hats because thats honestly a thing in film. But she complained to me how the script constantly changed and there were constant edits. She was one of the script reviewerrs for grammar and things like that and also working on the ground with the rest of the crew mostly. She hated looking at the script because it was always different lol.

I know that everyone was really mad about how Arden was treated, and we should. But I feel no one talks about Danny's actor Keahu ? And how he was basically "ghosted" and never told anything? I would've loved to see Danny have a chance to revamp his character

You can't do the nogitsune without Kira or stiles as one of the main characters in the plot. The nogitsune was closely tied to kira's family, and it was so terrifying in large part due to Dylan O'Brian acting. You can't try and recreate the magic of 3B without the two nao l key characters/actors responsible for it. I knew the movie was going to be bad when I learned we were getting the nogitsune without style stiles and kira

The funniest thing was that teen wolf ended 5 years ago, BUT in the movie they said that 15 years have passed because the actors were 26 year olds playing 16 and now they decided to finally make them act their age.

People love to point this out like it’s unusual. Acting is a job. Most trained actors graduate school (college/conservatory) in their early to mid twenties and then start professional careers. While there is a small pool of teen actors most of them are not as well trained as young adults and, more importantly, can not work full time hours because they are CHILD actors. And therefore fall under child labor laws. Unlike young adults. So the biggest pool of ‘young actors’ who have actually graduated college and/or gone to an acting conservatory and are in casting calls are in there mid to late twenties. Using people in their twenties to play teenagers actually makes sense. Most people have reached their adult height at or around 16 years old. And you just have more options to audition through general casting agencies if you look within their young adult pool for high school characters. Also,no one plays their ‘real age’ every actor is cast based on an ‘age range’ as opposed to actual age.

First of all, the entire show only took place in a few years and there was only a timejump at the end of season 6. The movie also takes place in the future for us. Eli was born around season 5.

I'm not ashamed to admit - I've read so many beautifully written elaborate plot heavy Teen Wolf fanfics and this level of writing from a professional team is actually embarassing. Like, Jeff, just go find a plot bunny online - it would be a much better premise.

Stiles dying would have sucked, but if the reason he wasn’t in the movie was because he DID die in that vision that Lydia had would have 1) an interesting reason why he doesn’t come back, 2) be an explanation as why Lydia hasn’t used her powers in so long since she could have been feeling so guilty that she decided to refuse away from any chance to have her power because she felt it was a betrayal to use the ability that she could have used to save him, and 3) would’ve given Lydia SOMETHING since the movie could also have that side-plot of her grieving and getting over that loss and learning to use her powers again, giving her a proper arc in the movie. Wouldn’t have saved the movie at all, but it’d be at least somewhat more interesting.

Scott now has two children he have to take care. teenage Eli and Allison.

My brother was telling me about this movie thinking I was gonna watch it. I said, "The worse thing they can do is bring Allison back to life." My brother stared at me before yelling at the top of his lungs, "THAT'S WHAT THEY DID!!!" And just like that, I lost the interest I never had.

the nogitsune jar is such a massive plot hole for me that really shows the low level of effort put into this movie. it was explicitly stated at the end of s3/start of s4 that isaac left the show to go to france, probably to get away from beacon hills in the wake of allison's death, BUT also to get rid of said jar. THAT WAS HIS WHOLE EXCUSE FOR LEAVING. if they truly wanted to make this storyline plausible then they would have brought daniel sharman back - isaac was a fan favourite and it would be at least somewhat of a consolation given that many other favourites (stiles, kira, theo, etc.) were not present in the movie.

While I understand why they chose the nogitsune to be the villain that comes back, if Arden and Dylan weren't going to be in the movie, they should have come up with a different plot. The thing that makes the nogitsune so scary is how it possesses the character that quite literally hold that show together, Stiles, in such a powerful and painful way. Not to mention the fact that introducing Kira's character directly links her to this villain and they couldn't be bothered to pay her well for playing such an integral part in the best season of the whole show. The only thing that got me through this movie is the nostalgia, but honestly, if anyone who hasn't seen it wants to feel that, just watch the show again lol.

you can tell most of the actors agreed to be in this because of lack of acting jobs

Couple things I needed to rant somewhere: -It's infuriating because they could've easily fixed plot holes with very small changes. Instead of saying "a ritual of some kind", say "a darach ritual to contact someone in bardo". 3 more words, not perfect becase where would Argent have learned of it? Who knows, but it gives enough info that most people won't question it. -They got their own lore wrong. Jackson turned into a werewolf at the end of season 2 but they talk about him like he's still a lizard man and he never actually transforms. Why is he here? At least doubel check the plot twists of the show -Speaking of Jackson, he's in an ill-fitting baggy suit the entire show. Did the actor loose muscle definition and they wanted to keep the horny Jackson fans unaware of this? If so, than the wardrobe team can do better than a Trump-esque baggy suit

I'm convinced that Scott begging to be shot was improvisation 😂 like "just shoot me, I want to go home now"

Should’ve used the woman from the last season as the person trying to awaken the nogitsune as a way to kill the supernatural people of beacon hills. Sort of like a deal with the devil type of situation with him betraying her (because he’s a trickster) and her teaming up with the pack to take him down. In the process of them working together she realizes they’re decent people just trying to do the right thing and the movie ends with a new level of empathy between the supernatural and her followers. I’m not a writer but I feel like something like that would be way more true to the show

This movie could’ve been a celebration of Scott’s legacy as a legend among werewolves. The show made a point to have outside characters remark on his reputation it would’ve been perfect

The main problem the movie had was that there was no script. Crytal Reed (Allison) has come out and said that some scene were completely off the cuff as they has no lines or directives to go off of.

41:25 I feel like it would've made more sense if Stiles was the big bad villain who released the Nogitusne because they have like a connection or something, with that being said, I'm glad Dylan O'Brien isn't in this awful movie because he deserves better even if he would've made it more enjoyable. Also, Allison being with Scott when she's mentally 17 and he's in his 30s is inappropriate and should be illegal but her being a mother-figure to Ellie when she's only mentally 2 years older than him is just plain stupid just like the rest of the movie

Scott: Hasn't seen Eli since he was 3, told Derek his family deserved to get killed (also Eli's family), frequently on the Argent's side over Derek's. Allison: Attacked Erica and Boyd for simply being associated with Derek and died not trusting Derek. Is an Argent These 2 are now Eli's parents over I don't know, his aunt (Cora) or some other relative/adult figure.

Can we talk about the fact that Allison was about the same age as Eli when she dies and now that she's back and they didn't introduce any concept that she aged in limbo she's basically a teenager in love with a thirty something year old and now has an adopted son her own age? 🤡🤡

I think Jackson is there to be the Stiles of the movie. Like solving a puzzle, not taking part in a fight and being able to figure out how to use magic stuff is all very Stiles of him. If Dylan O'Brien had agreed to be in the movie he'd probably have gotten more of an arc but those would have been the important things Stiles would have contributed. Also did Allison get a manicure in the afterlife? Because it looks like she got her nails done and it's either team Scott, the nemeton or from the afterlife. I'm not sure which makes most sense...

Well, I was huge fan of Allison. And was very disappointed that she died. And desperately wished they hadn't done it in the first place and/or would bring her back. I guess I got what I wished for. Now I just wish I hadn't.

It's like someone tried to write a fanfic for a show they've only seen the previews for.

Was hoping for a return of Isaac, because he's my favorite character and his exit was so sad. Now I'm glad he escaped the character crucifixion. The writers clearly don't understand what the fans want. We want to see these characters connecting together again after all these years! I would rather have something like the Arthur finale, where it's just cathartic and ties things up.

The writers admitted they only made the movie to bring Allison back but had no idea how they were going to do it yet. They just planned to 'figure it out somehow'. That was the entire motivation for the movie. So I wasn't surprised when it was a huge mess. As for a lot of the bigger plot things like Eli's mom and what happened with Malia and Perish, they've said it'll be addressed if they get more movies, which they're looking at doing. Which probably means even they don't know.

I still can't believe that instead of locking the Nogitsune's urn away in a secure facility, it was sat amongst a load of spices in a restaurant.

The only good thing I will remember of this movie is the dialogue between the Sheriff and Eli about why the jeep is still standing, all the others dialogue of the movie where so cringe and out of place, and then, just like that, at the end, we have a legit moment of characterization of "Derek took care of the jeep bc apparently he still thinks about Stiles even 15 years after so that's what" and end credits. Okay. Thank you, movie. I didn't need the 2h19minutes before that but anyway-

As a longtime, diehard fan, you said everything that NEEDED to be said. Words can’t describe how disappointed I am with how things have gone with this franchise. I think I will just rewatch seasons 1-3 😭

One of the biggest reasons this was doomed from the start is that Dylan O'Obrien didn't agree to return for the movie. The Nogitsune was such a hit because people loved Stiles, loved seeing the angst happen to him specifically, loved the way it messed with the others, they liked seeing Stiles as a villain and Dylan's acting as Void made it all the better. So to bring it back but without one of the main players of that arc was just setting it up to be a doomed concept. The storyline with Stiles was the reason the Nogitsune arc was as big as it was. Kira not being there has the same issues that Stiles not being there does. The nogitsune plot started with Kira's family, it wouldn't work without them. And it doesn't, I mean all the information we got about the nogitsune was FROM Kira's family. Nogitsune was in Beacon Hills due to Kira's mom. A "Nogitsune returns" plot without Kira or at least her mother or someone related to her just doesn't work. With Allison returning, but Stiles not being there, means we get no character closure for Stiles. Void killed Allison and Stiles canonically feels responsible for it. And now Allison is back but Stiles isn't involved at all, so there's no closure arc there. It only could give Scott closure, which is nice but Scott also got to hear her last words and hold her as she dies. A big thing in the show was Stiles believing Allison would still be alive if Stiles wasn't. Stiles even has a line where he says "Allison is dead. But the good news is, soon I might be too." And I know they floundered with the characters trying to figure things out because Stiles was the character who did that. Stiles was the researcher, sometimes teaming up with Derek, Peter, Deaton, or Lydia. Stiles was the human who did the research, that was like his main role in the pack. But the researcher is gone now so they have to scramble to have the others who figured things out. And then we have Derek Hale's son, Eli. The movie doesn't mention anything about the son's mom. And the thing is, they more than likely did that to hint at sterek, one of the show's most popular ships. Let me explain, Eli (Derek's son) steals and ends up inheriting Stiles' jeep. The jeep Stiles' inherited from his mom. Eli acts like a Stiles step in and Eli dresses like a Stiles step in. Stiles' grandfather is named Elias and Derek named his son Eli. It was fan service and the fans took the bait, with Teen Wolf the movie fanfics headcanoning in Stiles as Eli's other dad. Let's not forget that Derek dies by fire in front of his son, so add in lazy reuse of the "Hale kid sees family die by fire" storyline
