TEDxBratislava - Yossi Ghinsberg - On thinking out of the box

After a tragic accident, Yossi got separated from his companions in the midst of Amazon rainforest and fought three weeks to survive alone without any food and weapon. In his talk he shares some memories of his struggle for survival and insights that he took away from this life-changing experience. What is the power of life? What can we learn from natural ecosystems?
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBratislava, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBratislava event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

This video is kinda one of the best videos on TEDX Talks, and yet it got 18,451 views. What does people care about ? How to get rich, how to get a cool job, how to flirt people, how to blah blah ... Those kind of video gains like millions views. But this one is pure gold ! Btw, they make a movie about this guy, he's played by Harry Potter so check it out everybody !

Yes, that is all people care about. That's all they see on Instagram, youtube, Facebook etc... They want to be popular and rich so they can buy all the nice things they see on tv. What they dont realize, is real happiness comes from hard work, self awareness, mindfulness, conquering adversity, and helping other people. Real happiness comes from the journey. Not the result.

very inspirational 1what's wrong with boxes? 2it was Yossi's imagination, that woman, because his unconscious wanted to get saved but his body gave up. if we're to take care of someone else, we happily do it, if it is about ourselves, we tend to give up easier 3, in an ecosystem nobody disappears or dies. hm if we look into the textbooks we can see that plenty of species have died out (evolution) and still there are endangered animals and many of them die out 4, paradoxes in preaching vs acting

He made a choice to survive!!trust me there's a giant difference I know that after surviving a serial killer who killed people and I had to make a choice whether to live or die so don't put that on him!!!
