Memories of Joe singing this on SNL, with John Belushi wobbling out on stage like a demented doppelgänger! Good times…

It is almost astounding how they manage to not just almost equal the power the late great Joe Cocker brought to this track while amplifying the fun in the tune. Seldom have I seen a performance that makes me wish an alt me could have been a part of this performance! Just W O W

TTB are the greatest touring band (with all due respect to Blackberry Smoke and, of course, Govt Mule) yet it had to be a thrill for them to be on the stage with the man in the top hat from Tulsa Oklahoma, the only MR Leon Russell

I heard Dave Mason play in a medium sized bar in St Thomas USVI on the outskirts of Charlotte Amalie.....in maybe 1988. I cant remember. It does not appear on his historical tour schedule. I think he was "unplugged". So long ago. He had one other guy as I recall. Long time ago. The bar was in Sub Base or Crown Bay area.

How cool is it that Derek and Susan brought as many of the original band members to the forefront for this. The great ones respect their elders and those on whose shoulders they stand. Chris Robinson does an outstanding job here, but don't fail to notice that it took both Susan Tedeschi and him to replace the work of Joe Cocker on this number.

The Beatles wrote it and did it, it was not unusual for Joe cocker to take Beatles songs and turn them on their head.

Wow! I wonder what thoughts were running through Leon's head as he relived this. TTB is by far the best band extant. I see they've got Bramhall with them too, and isn't that Dave Mason in the black hat? Is it 1971 again? I love the male singer; he did a great job, but underscores to me that there was only one Joe Cocker.

Joe Cocker is NOT in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!!! Why?? Rick Hall - founder of Fame Studio in Muscle Shoals and had a hand in dozens, if not hundreds, of great and influential songs we all know and love - NOT in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!! WHY??
