@@Luke26945 Thank you Luke but, unfortunately not. I couldn’t sleep last night due to comments made about me. “I can see why you don’t have friends”, “(insert reactors name here) is better than you”, “you overthink too much”… just to name a few. I’ve opened up so much to Nate’s fans and even delved more into explaining my thought process because I felt like they would understand. I told you all I have ADD and I’m autistic, so overthinking is natural for me. I don’t like it and it gets in the way of life, but reactions is the one place I could make use of this stupid brain. I spent all night wondering if I should still be doing this because I can’t stop overthinking. Idk, it just seems a lot of NF’s fans missed the memo… “Surround yourself with people that challenge how you think Not people that nod their head and act like they agree Those people that cut you open just to watch you bleed Always be yourself, not the person that you pretend to be, no!” I’ll be back later with the LOST and STORY reactions though, whether they like it or not.

@@TeddyGreyOS it’s a shame that people who like NF can be that way. I’m an NF fan but older. I know people don’t see things the way I do. I respect you for your opinion and your honesty. @@TeddyGreyOS Personal attacks are out of line, for sure. I do appreciate your raw reactions or I wouldn't be a subscriber. I'll fully admit I was triggered by one of my favorite songs of Nate's being called trash (the first one of his I heard - late to the party, I know). I think it's like when you share a video or song with someone you like and you want them to love it too. When they don't, it disappoints you. Don't lose sleep over it. An active comments section is probably good for the algorithm. :) (Also, we're all a little amped up with the new album dropping tonight at midnight. Lol.)

"It's plain and simple, I'm far from brittle, Unbreakable, you following? I'm Bruce Willis in a train wreck" - Bruce Willis' movie 'Unbreakable'. It’s also ‘Unbelievable’ cuz he comes out of the train wreck with like no damage at all. "Trading in a car for a new jet" is crazy because of price difference alone, not even counting that if you had a jet you'd still need a car. Unbelievable "Having a boss getting upset cuz you asked him for less on your paycheck" is crazy like you said. Doesn't make sense. No one would believe that. Unbelievable "Doing headstands with a broke neck" is physically impossible. Unbelievable "Watching your kid take his first steps". He's using the word to describe how a parent would feel about that moment. Unbelievable "I'm like saying Bill Gates couldn't pay rent cuz he's too broke." One of the richest people ever. Unbelievable He uses inconceivable at the end as another word to describe all of those same things and with 'Unbelievable' and 'Inconceivable' both being used there it gives even more understanding to those lines as 'inconceivable' can mean the same thing but in a slightly different way. I'm not disputing how you feel about the song, it was just clear that you didn't catch what he was saying with this part

With all due respect, if you think his way of making music it's because it's a formula that works and he can keep himself relevant, then you haven't understood him as an artist after all these reactions. Nate has said over and over again music is his therapy, he writes about his experiences, if he is a heavily depressed man battling mental health, then that's what we are gonna get. Now after becoming a father he has found another reason to hope, and that's why we are getting new content, not because the "formula" isn't working. In fact there are a lot of people who would prefer the "old Nate" but I think every opinion is valid and I appreciate a different pov from you. I'm enjoying the channel

Hi Teddy, let me start off by saying that I 100% appreciate the fact that you're honest with your reactions and that when something is off for you, you say it. Having said that, here are my two cents: First of all, I completely agree with your point about the rhyme scheme being weak in the first half. I think that it was meant as sort of a suspension building intro, but he kept it up for way too long. As for that one part that was completely "trash" for you, I'll try to explain a bit (most likely, you understand and just have a different opinion, but I'll try to anyways). He starts it all with saying, "unbreakable, you following?" and then proceeds to talk about Bruce Willis in a train wreck. That's a reference to the movie Unbreakable, where Bruce Willis survives - sole survivor - a train wreck without getting hurt. That's pretty unbelievable. The lines with Gates not being able to pay rent, trading a car for a jet, and boss being upset are pretty straightforward, in my opinion. Doing headstands while your neck is broken is pretty damn unbelievable (some Mike Tyson shit). The part mostly undigestible for a lot of people is the kid. But man, let me tell you, watching your kid take its first steps? And say its first words? Definitely unbelievable moments. Not in like "I never believed this would happen," but "omg, I can't believe it's already here" sort of way, you feel me? At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion about music taste, so all the people in the comments need to get off of their highhorses.

Wanted to post this as a separate comment. I've been listening to NF for years, not since the VERY beginning but came in around Perception. One of the things I've thought a lot about when it comes to NF is how his fans would cope with him finally finding his way out of the darkness in his head. He has such a massive following because of the depths with which so many others can resonate with him. It's because of that I feel like its going to end up like that part of Forest Gump where Forest has over YEARS amassed a legion of followers as he literally ran without explanation, and at the end when he stops he just leaves everyone there. It's been clear as day to me from the beginning EVERYTHING he's put out was for HIS relief FIRST and EVERYTHING else was a DISTANT second to that, including people vibing with him, fame, etc. We all offhand call it "the journey" but its LITERALLY been a journey for him. But not just a journey a journey with a destination in mind. People like you coming in when he's FINALLY SEEING his destination on the horizon after YEARS of wandering in the wilderness have a unique perspectives much like having a movie spoiled for you. The movie is STILL excellent so you can still enjoy it. However, you'll never get the raw feeling of the tension of literally years of not knowing if THIS TIME time he'll find his way. It's like this for probably millions of others who have been actively following him since long before I did. I say all that to lay the foundation to give my personal perspective on the he IS very repetitive comment you and others have made. First off you are 100% right he is repetitive. But that's reflective of a realistic journey out of mental illness. Having been happily married now for almost 13 years to someone that has and is still on her own journey through her own deep issues with mental health and self destruction I can absolutely say its a LOT of repetition, a LOT of meandering, walking in circles. His stuff feels repetitive because it is. But it is EQUALLY as genuine when he expresses how he's feeling at that moment as when he first got to that point and committed his feeling to paper. That's why him having the map to hope in Hope is hit so hard for us and why you got that little bit where his darkness is literally leading him in circles determined to keep him from his destination. All because his journey has been ANYTHING but clear and straightforward. Just my thoughts on the subject. Very much enjoy your candid stream of consciousness way of doing these reactions

As we know, writing isn't always perfect and there's always room to grow and improve. So, naturally, his songs won't be perfect. So, naturally, you won't always have good things to say. Personally, I really loved this song a lot XD I can't wait for the next step in the journey!! Curry looked goooooooodddd, too. haha.

Don't know much about the technical aspects of rap but the football scene and Bruce Williams reference mention is definitely a reference to the movie Unbreakable which forms part of the M Night Shyamalan shared movie universe. In this particular music video I think the clues to what he means is hidden in the visuals. I love the part where he exits the house of the family and when he says he's unstoppable he falls over the kid's bicycle. The sound at the end of the vid also reminds me of the movie War of the Worlds. Tommee Profitt who produced some of NF's albums/songs also lean toward cinematic songs. I think NF might like movies a lot

I guess I don’t understand where you were hearing single syllable rhymes. I was hearing five syllables where you paused. Also don’t think you should call out fans for saying they couldn’t explain lines just because you don’t understand the references (example Bruce Willis line). I’ve been watching Knox Hill since this song game out and he’s really good at catching references. Not trying to take a shot at you, but just because you don’t pick up on references to other movies/songs doesn’t mean it’s lazy writing.

I have been following Nf for around 8 years and I've come to really hate when people say NF is repetitive, especially people who take the journey and all of his songs are fresh on their mind. Other artist make the same terrible music for years and never get any backlash but NF uses a concept three times and he's a one trick pony. UNBELIEVABLE. That's what those nonsense things have in common and yes, they could each be considered unbelievable. It's an unbelievable feeling to watch your kids take their first steps. Unbelievable that a kid could do a headstone with a broke neck. Unbelievable that a boss would actually get mad if you asked for less on your paycheck. Unbelievable to think Bill gates wouldn't be able to pay rent. I'm like Bruce Willis in a train wreck... Bruce Willis was in a movie where he was in a train wreck called Unbreakable. Which he says unbreakable in the next set of bars. You just proved you were the one that didn't get it not everyone else lol No hate, but chill. It makes sense if you know the movie And you are docking NF because he said comical instead of funny... really. Cuz we don't use those words in everyday speech... ...ok so what of all the ridiculous words Eminem uses to make rhymes? To be honest, I think the reason for the contradictions you’ve found in his music is just because his music is supposed to be an expression of his emotions. And well, emotions aren’t very logical and usually end up displaying contradictions no matter how logical we try to live our lives. NF has even displayed this kind of contradiction outright in My Stress when he says “it’s like I hate it, but I love it at the same time”. Not very logical but still very relatable

Don't worry, you won't be disappointed in Story. It's something that he hasn't done before. It does start pretty slow and a bit too literal, but by the end the intensity is WILD. Lyrically, I don't really know how to describe it without spoiling it, but you will understand when you watch. As for what clouds was meant to be, if you remember back to when you reacted to Grinding. It's the modern version of that, a hype track for shows. Nothing too impressive, but a good song to really bring up the energy of the crowd

@@daniaboujaoude4302 I said it's the modern version. I agree it's not like Grindin in terms of quality, NF has improved dramatically over the years and I love clouds, but from his modern work, lyrically it's not the most deep or complex but is definitely one of the highest energy. There are plenty of songs in the mixtape with better flow or lyrics, but that's not the goal of this song, it's an intro hype piece to a project where he is testing new concept songs, like Layers, Trust, and of course Story.

I mean... sure... this one kind of went over Teddy's head... but... to quote Teddy: "he's allowed to be subpar, he's allowed to be wrong. THIS IS WRONG". The only annoying thing is that just because he doesn't get it, he presumes that all of us that do get it, only pretend to get it. To be honest I think Teddy is just tired... the fact that a man who loves music as much as he does didn't even mention or at least react to those crazy four syllable rhyme schemes is evidence enough. (Spoiler alert) Anyway... calling NF a "lazy writer" is just funny to me because of the "Question my work ethic, that's a question you don't ask" thing... I guess some people can't get all the "layers" NF has. All that being said... we still love you, Teddy!
