One thing I like about these reimagined versions is that they aren’t remixes. They’re his own interpretations of these songs . They’re the same story , told by different authors. It’s so beautiful what he was able to do with last resort , especially because that was the first song he’s reimagined that wasn’t his own. He told the same story , just in a different way. He made the lyrics hit harder and more powerful then they already do. And this is no different. He’s retelling his own story . His own battle In two very different, but very beautiful, ways. He is easily one of the best musicians / creators that we’ve had in a very long time

This song always gives me goosebumps. Ronnie’s voice, as I’ve told you in other videos, blows my mind 🤯 His singing, screams, and rapping. A triple threat!!!

also I only had 1 reactor see the real story of this video. The white version of Paige is looking back at her life with Ronnie and how he rescued her and all other colored Paige versions are from the past. And the scene in the end is not them burning in the same second, it is her remembering how he burned and she burned herself the same way.

The fact you have to spend this much time analyzing his music, to me, shows how good he is. If he thinks that deeply into creating his metaphors, in music and video, it’s real art. You don’t see that very often. It’s old school in a lot of ways. People today cannot create and use metaphors and euphemisms to create the journey that Ronnie does. They have to come out and say it directly.

With blood being the Vampire’s addiction, he said this song is about his alcohol addiction. Much the same as the blood, ya know? Ruins lives around him. Each time he drinks, he buries another like a vampire takes a life. He just can’t quit it.

I am so glad you watched the original before you watched this one because I think you appreciate the revamped so much more when you’ve seen the original.

This song... im a french canadian, so my children werent the best in english when they were young. But my 5 yo daughter when she heard this in the car, asked me to shut it off. I asked her why, and when i turned around, she had tear rolling down her face. She said i dont know, but this song is really sad in my heart!.?!? A- i was surprised by how in touch she is with her emotions, But B- how once again i feel what music can do to you on a deeper level But the battle with addiction.. when i used to consume, i was always living at night. Going out, and i hated the next day, being hung over, in relaps, and whtvi saw was revolting. At night, i was alive again. But, i felt like a vampire.... people judging, staying away etc... Anyways, great song

I don't agree. I feel the lyrics fit great. Maybe besides the pregnant lady part. Since this is all a metaphor for being an addict, it's perfect. Actually the whiskey is my holy water is one of my favorite lines (holy water being dangerous/deadly to a vampire as is Whiskey to an alcoholic). I'm astonished that you didn't recognize Saraya (formerly known as Paige), since she's British and pretty famous as a wrestler. She has been Ronnie's girlfriend for several years now.

I think the lyrics "feel like a lady who's pregnant with a baby cause I'm always throwing up" ... Pretty sure this describes the terrible withdrawal symptoms when trying to get clean from drugs.

The song is about his addiction with drugs. He is a vampire from the people he loves in his life, he's zombie to his own life, he's in denial, and he's dragging his loved ones down to hell with him. If he would have just admitted he was " a vampire" it wouldn't have caused the collateral damage to the people he loved. So in the song, his failure to admit resulted in actually being one. His songs mean so much to so many, but that's the reason behind the lyrics in this song.

Ronnie agrees with you on some of the lyrics. He have stated that he wished he wrote some of the lines differently then because he felt an obligation to the fans to stay true to the originals (though some added in this one) Both these 2 were btw Covid gifts to long time fans. He also made a free, meaning KZread only, Mixtape back in 2014 I believe as a Xmas gift. That however is crazy. Ronnie and friends going totally mental (especially lyric wise) He does not appreciate his early rapping in other words. Alone being his most cringe song ever he said

The parallels drawn between vampirism and Ronnie's former heroin addiction is a little bit unnerving, tbh. Reverting to an almost animal state when he is high...."So I sharpen my teeth, because i love the way it feels when I sink into your skin and draw the only thing thats real. You dont believe in me? Should I write it in blood?" That references the needle and how torn he is between the guilt and shame of using and the "bloodlust" or the craving caused by his addiction. Even the line about "always throwing up" fits, because thats what "good" herion does when you shoot up, you instantly puke.

I feel the same about his lyrics feeling out of place sometimes in his remakes. I also agree his remakes are way better. Especially this one. I absolutely love this version, and completely loathe the original. 😂
