Live Tonight on Millennium Stage : Called “one of the most gifted singer-songwriters of his generation,” by The New York Times, singer-songwriter Teddy Thompson is a native Englishman who has adopted New York City as his home; famously the son of singer-songwriters Richard and Linda Thompson, he emigrated to the States almost twenty years ago, barely out of his teens, to embark on a career of his own.

His musician mother Linda has a brilliant voice. These things tend to be inherited.

Teddy Thompson has one of the most beautiful voices in the business, whichever genre he chooses. And it's wonderful to see him make his own place, separate from his talented parents. He is SO gifted, on his own.

Teddy has come into his own. I will stop thinking of him only as Richard’s son.

Reminds me of many (too many) nights playing to dead crowds and wondering two things: 1. Why do we do this? 2. How much longer? Thank the music Gods for the few who do enjoy. We played for You.

The song I Still Believe is called Persuasion, by the legendary Tim Finn. A wonderful cover by Teddy here, sounds excellent live btw 👏

Great set from a terrific artist. More power to the Thompson family! I see The Rails have more dates this year, as well as Richard's massive tour.

Love “The Things I Do”. Saw him on Live From Abbey Road years ago and then saw him live in Bham, AL and it was great.

Teddy always has the few hundred viewers of his videos lie this one wondering: why isn't he bigger?! I think he falls into that category of recent singer-songwriters who mostly came out of country, including Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan. Strong voices, great songs with interesting lyrics. But Teddy is even harder to categorize, being English and from a folk background. Funnily enough, he reminds me Glen Campbell, too, someone who also had a great voice and was one of the best guitar players in the business -- he also crossed categories. Teddy doesn't need Jimmy Webb to write his best songs.

No idea why the 'key moments' stop less than half way in. The second half of the set is better than the first - when Teddy is more at ease.
