Jake Paul fights old retired MMA guys and basketball players, there's nothing legitimate about his career at all.If he was legit he would challenge Tyson Fury not a 58 year old Mike Tyson.Mike badly needs to humble this guy, love to see it end like the Marvis Frazier fight.

OMG I feel the exact same way! Mayweather has been doing this for a while as well and I cannot for the life of me understand why people would rather watch amateur fights instead of professionals. Idk maybe boxing and the bad decisions, judges, corruption, Don King and all the other nonsense and the fact that the sport had some pretty boring fights for a while so the casual boxing fan probably stopped watching not to mention that they stopped having 15 round fights so the "championship rounds" are gone as well.

I’ve never boxed and am only a casual fan tbh, so pardon my ignorance.. but I’m curious how big of a deal it is that they’re using the 14oz gloves vs 10oz? My understanding is 14oz are essentially sparring gloves. Can someone even get knocked out with them? And who do you all think benefits the most from this rule? Assuming this fight is on the up and up and no deals have been made between them, I’d think the softer gloves benefit JP more. It seems to me Tyson’s best shot is to get an early knockout but as the fight drags into the later rounds his age becomes a liability and the advantage goes to JP.

Me too. If Jake wins, it'll be because Mike gets tired. 2 minute rounds allow Mike to get more frequent breaks. I see this like I saw most of the 2nd half of Tyson's career. If it goes past 4 or 5 rounds, Jake can get him outta there. But before that, Tyson will be incredibly dangerous, even at 58.

I wanted him to fight Nathan Quarless. He is perfect and he would have addressed every issue people have had with Jake as a pro. What do people say of Jake's rivals. Too old, haven't been in the rink consistently, naturally smaller. Quarless is 13-1, 28yo, been in the rink 3 times in the last 15 months, has fought every single fight between 196p and 203p. But here is the bonus. His one loss was when he fought Vidal Riley (KSI's former coach) for the British Crusier weight title. If he beats Quarless what is Vidal going to say? The guy is trash...no, cause he went 12 rounds with the guy and couldn't stop him. He would be diminishing his own title slagging him off. Not only that the smart move for Vidal would be to say he is a real one because it builds his own title up if he says Quarless is good. Finally ksi wouldn't be able to say shit, because if he starts mouthing off it's only gonna have to force Vidal's hand. Either way jake gets ksi in a spot where if he slags off the fight he is gonna get push back, but if he says nothing jake basically gets a free pass to chirp with no recourse

Why wouldn't he want this fight? If he wins, he gets a win over a name that the younger, Instagram crowd knows but doesn't really remember. They think he's the guy from The Hangover. If he loses, it was Mike Tyson and he made multiple millions. One thing is certain to me, Mike could end this fight inside of a minute if he wants too. No way Jake can handle Mike's power. I don't care if Mike is 70. He hits Paul, Paul goes down.

My opinion is that there is nothing "professional" about Jake Paul as a boxer. His "fights" are circus acts. He's not a serious boxer. If he was he would be boxing professionals in their prime, aged 20-30, and in 12, 3 minute round bouts with 10 oz gloves. Entertainer, yes. Decent at boxing, yes. Professional Boxer, absolutely not.

Like it or not Paul has changed boxing, he has become almost the pioneer of the crossover fight, which is now a genuine aspect of world boxing. He apparently made 30 million from his fight with Fury, no boxer in history has made that kind of money from only their 7th fight. And also, Tyson's fight with Roy Jones is no 10 in the highest grossing ever ppvs, when he was 54, that kind of tells u why Paul has taken this fight...the £££££!

Nobody is talking about is how this is on Netflix. Netflix will fuck this up. Even century old TV networks like CBS, FOX, and ABC have the infrequent live broadcast flub but they are well oiled machines that do live TV day in day out. Next step down is UFC, HBO Boxing or ESPN Boxing who have/had really professional PPVs, live on cable TV box PPV, terrestrial broadcast, and internet. Next MASSIVE step down is Showtime and DAZN who constantly have/had technical issues with their broadcasts i.e. bad audio, bad directing, bad connection. Then below them, and entirely unproven, there is Netflix. They have borderline no broadcast experience whatsoever and are essentially a brand name they slap onto production companies who do all the work. So we don't really know if the technology is there on the application side of Netflix let alone the TV Broadcast side of things. Netflix tried to do a Love Is Blind live finale like any average ABC The Bachelor finale and it outright didn't work when they went live so they recorded it, edited it, and released it within 48 hours. I am almost 100% certain this fight won't even work on a production/technology side of things. Not because it's impossible but because this is not a well oiled machine. You know how long it took UFC to get these precise PPVs in hockey arenas around North America? Netflix site will either crash or the broadcast will be janky/amateurish or probably both. Then the whole live event at the venue will get fucked up and off schedule because they want to make sure the broadcast is working before they do the fights. Idk, unless they have the UFC crew doing this, I think the promotion is going to be a mess. P.S. I work in TV/Film.

@@sshumkaer Did you read anything I wrote? Netflix HAS screwed up doing live before already. Badly. They also don’t make anything in house, they outsource to other companies and are essentially the “network” in a traditional sense. Unless the people actually doing the TV production have experience, I don’t think they’ll hit the ground running with an event of this size. Worth adding that I’ve worked with Netflix before as a vendor and they are a 99% hands off network from my experience.

Heard all these rules was Tysons wish and Jake agreed to all of them. And that 14 oz gloves would probably protect them both. So he is not ignorant to Tysons power punches. Also added that he idolises Tyson. Which I really believe he does. And that all the posts and things he does is to promote the fight. He isn't like that in person. But shy. So thats all an act. Jake really idolises Tyson. But I'll always root for Tyson. No matter what gloves or how many rounds + time they'll set it up. And really? Tyson is 58. Dont think these rules are awkward or wrong in any way. Doing a match with the usual rules would seem strange to me. Just glad hes going up in the ring again. Cant wait to see it. Go Tyson Forever THE GOAT 🐐 Nothing that happens can change or tarnish his legacy or status as a boxer. Thats my take on it. 🥊💥👊❤🙌

I love Mike Tyson so I'm already not thrilled with someone this old taking punches by a younger fighter who can actually hit hard IF he catches him. The modified version of this fight suits the situation. I don't care if it's considered a professional fight or not, it's still a fight where two people are going to be throwing punches.

Tyson is 58 years old. He publishes videos in which he hits the pads or the heavybag for 2 seconds. Do you see the position of his arms when he hits the target? He can't even straighten his arms. It's sad. He has no speed, no power and no stamina. They say that the power is the last one that goes, not that the power doesn't go. Besides, Tyson's power came from leverage and speed (apart from mass). He hasn't been able in a long time to turn his body quick, to create leverage and force. Watch again his fights from 2004 and 2005: poor technique, low speed, no stamina, litle power (he hits the target, but he doesn't knock out anyone anymore). Now, he only trains to lose weight. Have you seen him do some actual boxing training yet? Does anyone imagine that he sparrs? If he doesn't even sparr, if he isn't even able to straighten his arms, if he can't throw punches for more than 2 seconds, on what kind of drugs do you have to be to think that this is going to be a real fight? Has anyone seen what hapened to Holyfield in a real fight 3 years ago? It was sad, wasn't it? And Holyfield has kept himself in shape. His style doesn't depend on twisting his body as much as Tyson's (which is a challenge at their age). He is taller and has longer range. Not to mention that he was better than Tyson: he beat Tyson twice, he beat Douglas, he defeated a few champions (Foreman, Moorer, Bowe, Mercer, Ruiz, Rahman), he was competitive against Lewis and Bowe (the actual best heavyweights of the '90s). Tyson only has one thing over Holyfield: he's smarter. Which is why he won't get into a real fight at 58. As long as he has fans that don't know much about boxing, he can take part in such fake events until he's 90.
