Normally I would say why do we need another film about Ted K? But when I saw Sharlto Copley was in it, I knew I had to see this. Sharlto not only has one of the most difficult names to say, he's one of the most dynamic screen presences in film today. He's one of the best actors to play sinister characters ever! When he's on the screen you can't take your eyes off of him. I love this guy!! 🎬🧡

I have read the Unabomber's manifesto more than once, and it's a brilliant piece of writing, and it's also true. What he said about technology and it's take over of necessary human achievements and development is 100% coming to pass. It's actually scary how accurate his Manifesto is. Of course, I don't condone bombing anyone. That was counterproductive for sure, but I would recommend to anyone who wants to read a good dissertation on the rise of technology and how it will cause human devolution to read his Manifesto.

Blaming technology seems very odd to me. It's very related to the transmission of ideas/language and is a consequence of us being humans which are more than other animals. Instead, the destruction of nature is to be limited or even reversed. This is the hardest goal humanity could achieve and will only be achievable with more technology.

I mean objectively speaking his manefesto was wrong and ideologically skewed. The Manifesto is also full of a lot of fallacious reasoning using the analogy of a caveman stoically accepting his death by disease as a rebuttal to modern medicine. Likewise, in Ted K's ideal world, the majority of the planet would be in extreme poverty and would not be able to sustain anything resembling the size of the current human population. Most of the Manefesto breaks down the moment real world logic and evidence is applied to challenge it.

Another guy that should be allowed back is Edward Snowdon. He is a hero. Trump was going to pardon Snowdon but there were complications that prevented it. I believe if Trump gets elected for another 4 years he might do it, and he should.

Ted Kaczynski was tested and scored an IQ at 167. If you read his biography he was a fascinating person. If you read his manifesto and read or watch some of his interviews, he was right on with his predictions for the future. Actually, on a similar topic, if you read and watch some interviews of Charles Manson, even though he had little conventional schooling, a lot of what he said and predicted has come to be. I love Sharlto Cople he is an incredibly talented actor. I can't wait to see him portraying Ted, a brilliant mind with a broken spirit...and also THANK you for using the wording "the greatest hunting in the US History" and use the name of this country versus the entire continent. America is from Argentina to Alaska. The name of this beautiful country is United States of America or USA but not "America". I can't imagine Germany referring to themselves as Europe. They are part of Europe but they are not solely Europe.

This looks like it will be better than the other adaptations, the actor sounds like him, and this is clearly well researched. He was suspected of breaking his own nose repeatedly to change his facial structure after the 1987 sketch. Not surface-level information you find on Wikipedia. He tested hundreds of IEDs in the woods, especially when he starting using ammonal, and designed IEDs from scratch, precisely crafted to facilitate a phenomenon known as deflegration-to-detonation transition. Actually an incredibly dissocial person with no real concern for bettering the world around him, his motive was personal hatred. Regularly destroyed property, set traps for people, and killed dogs in his area. In 1985 he realized he had a conduit to the outside world and could potentially create resistance to what he (largely correctly) perceived as a technology problem in the world, and after his second come-back in 1993 he began carrying out his nearly decade-old plan to get the media to publish his writing using his notariety. Would be more interesting to see him portrayed truthfully, so that audiences could come to their own conclusions. Previous adaptations just capitalized off the allure to making him a sympathetic character. I personally have an unbiased view of him, I don't approve or disapprove of most things that don't affect me personally, though I think it would be, less objectively disagreeable, if he directed his violence to particularly malicious people with a more direct contribution to his perceived societal issues (such as politicians) in a less indiscriminate way. IED no. 15 could have killed several children if it had been activated seconds earlier. It did succeed in cutting short the life of a Christian family man, who didn't even have anything to do with the Exxon Valdez spill, as TJK had believed.

In the 90's I was close to some Northwestern alums and academics who were approached in the investigation, one or two possibly under suspicion for a while. Also any involvement in environmental causes during that time drew a lot of curious "friends" to your side who would ask all sorts of intrusive questions if you rhapsodize on technological futurism instead of natural fiber fashions and organic farming
