    If you want to remove the pitch trim, intact and undamaged it can easily be done. Use a heat-gun or hot air paint stripper to heat the metal casing FROM THE INSIDE, underneath the trim. This will melt the glue and allow the trim to be lifted away with a small knife (for best results use a scalpel)

    Hi there. Good video. I though you can help me. I have disassembled tonearm height adjustment as been stucked on my both decks. I had some problems with calibration. Once assembled on one deck tonearm height adjustment goes from about 1cm below 0 to the end of text that is next to 6. ( I think this is correct) With second deck it doesn't go below 0 but it goes for about 2cm above 6. could you please let me know is something wrong with my arm? it works well its just this little shift that makes me worried and maybe you or someone know how to make it correctly (1cm below 0 to the end of text that is next to 6). Any help much appreciated.

    +Arnoldo Offermann Thanks for the answer. Thats what i think as well. When i was dissembling it i haven't pay attention as it was stuck. I've tried several times to catch right position of adjustment ring to get 0 number as close as possible to arrow on the arm (so i just loose it a bid to catch 0 position) and having it as low as possible at the same time. Is there any recommended position (number on adjustment ring that i can refer) to screw it? I have downloaded service manual and they say as follows (scan is poor quality so i cannot see details on the illustrations ): 1. Attach the control ring to the arm base seato (The control ring should be rotated counterclockwise.) 2. Completely tighten the control ring, and then loosen it 1.5--2.5 turns to set the scale to "3". (See Fig. 11) 3. Hold the arm base and set the red fine mark on the arm base to the scale near "2", then turn the arm base clockwise. Note: Take care not to allow deflection of the predetermined positions of the control-rig arm and base seat. 4. Adjust the arm base so that the red fine mark on the arm base is set to the scale "3" of the control ring. Next. secure the positioning base plate with two setscrews. {See Fig. 13}

    +Kottacska3 right now I am using a ortofon 2m black. My TT is a modified 1200mk2. It is on a sand filled base with wood mods for damping. It sounds great but still needs some work. the biggest issue right now is it needs to be on a solid shelf. I'm now sure how much more money to put into it, but I was hoping a better arm would let me use a MC cartridge. what do you think?

    Just getting started with turntables. Very interesting video. I read online (wikipedia I believe) that digital formats (lossless) are of much higher quality than what will be attainable via vinyl/analog playback (such as turntables.) Is that really is so? If so, why do audiophiles/professionals prefer vinyl? Thanks for clarifying, a newbie here :)

  • @GearItFirst

    @GearItFirst

    8 жыл бұрын

    +aryesegal1988 A high quality analog will ALWAYS have more data than a high quality digital and thus would sound better.. but sometimes the original source was recorded poorly. It's EASIER to record high quality files nowadays, though.

  • @aryesegal1988

    @aryesegal1988

    8 жыл бұрын

    Arnoldo Offermann Easier how? Isn't the setup the same? It seems as if the only difference is that somewhere along the way you have a device that converts everyting to digital. So, basically, you claim that nowadays, given a high quality source, when should opt for an analog medium as opposed to digital? Thanks! :)

  • @GearItFirst

    @GearItFirst

    8 жыл бұрын

    Easier because it doesn't take tens of thousands to record high quality files. Easier because you're not dealing with reel to reel warps (as an example). As for what you choose? It all depends on your style. For example, Dr. Dre produces on analog, but the final output is digital.. but you can still hear the difference.

    i saw your video and it was very helpful, because i followed whatever you did ,"decomposing" all the turntable device ,but in the fase that u start disconnecting the turntable s arm the process became extra complicated. I have to tell u that it took me long time on thinking about it, because i m not feeling the self confidence to do it. Watching the result of the arms painting it gets me into temptation to disconnect its parts and paint it too.Ι don't have the needed the necessary solder tool (kalay), whith which u rive the very sensitive cables. I m so confused and hesitated about doing this. If i do this, will i need to replace any part of the 'arms' body?? I want u to tell me ,because i live in Greece and i don't and ebay is very difficult for me because its very expensive and retarded on shipping. Thanks a lot for the help. P.S. i decided to paint it alone , because i went to a professional painter and he asked me 100 euro. it sucks. I m going to follow the other video with the painting. (Excuse for my English. I am in the process of learning).Byeeeeeee...
