This is excellent information, particularly the insights into troubleshooting the audio driver's expected performance and setup. However, I'm uncertain about the section at 3:31 where it's suggested that part of the circuit uses IC5, which is a 1678 Op Amp, to generate the ~25V suppling the 7812. I might have missed something, but I'm not clear on how this circuit would be boosting the voltage. To be fair, I also couldn't identify from your camera angles where this voltage generation might be occurring. I don't see any inductors capable of such boosting, aside from the larger, more obvious ones. Fantastic video overall! The feeling of okay....well it's working with the uneasiness of not exactly knowing why. Creates those potential fix returns.

Interestingly enough, 30% of amplifier failures is due to a piece of cable strand creating a short somewhere.

Sometimes applying heat to a transistor or cap can make it work again. Hope it continues to behave itself.

So, as for an ultrasonic cleaner: Stainless steel chaffing pan and a bunch of piezo elements, all connected to an amplifier capable of high frequencies above 35khz, driven by a frequency generator that can put out 20-25 volts continuously. Fill with deionized water, drop your board in and turn it on. Actually, a phase change humidifier will do the same thing as this, but it's too small.

It's amazing how some amps survive in some people's cars with all of the dust and dirt I see on them. And it's even crazier because the circuit board is upside down when the amp is mounted normally, and you see all of the gunk that gets on the boards. 🤯🤯 It makes me cringe just seeing all of the mess that gets captured by the heat sink compound. The ones with the dead bugs and spiders makes me laugh though 😆😆. I be like, WTH!? Get out of here.

I have a Taramps DSP 3000 that does nor turn on ( no loghts tuen on either and no sound) . Did some checks and noticed mosfets from the powersupply shorting when checking with my mutimeter. On the board it says IRF1404 but the mosfets that are installed are csd18502kcs. Don't know if they have been changed already or not ( second hand amp) . Should i buy the IRF1404 csd18502kcs. Can't find both locally

I soldered the leg back to the board, and a booming it went till I sold it!~

Conductive carbon dust should not be underestimated. I have seen 8 computers from a diesel repair garage killed by it, all with weird intermittent faults, washing machine controllers where carbon from the wearing brushes has caused a flash-over due to high voltages on the board, and even a vacuum cleaner speed controller killed by it (henry dual speed type). If you are honest with the owner about the 'repair', they will likely understand if it fails again. Best keep it away from diesel (exhaust) fumes in the future.
