Tech21 Trademark 60 Playthrough

Музыка

Cool solid state amp from the 90s. Has lots of different voicings and a very active master EQ. Can do decent impressions of fendery cleans, AC30 bark, Marshall roar.
Guitar is a Peavey JF-1.

I've had one of these since 2005 and used it in a pretty loud Classic Rock cover band for about fives years. I always had it on an amp stand, and never had trouble being heard (either by myself or by friends in the crowd). I have had more than one person claim to be surprised that it was not a tube amp. I loved it (and still do) for it's reliability, simplicity, and versatility. I would gig with just a delay in the FX loop, and use the boost and channel switching for changing up tones or textures. I'm watching this video now because I'm falling in love with this amp all over again!

That's one of the best clean tones I've heard from a solid state.

Nice demostration, thanks. I have this amp as well. Do you feel any difference Weep on and off?? In my case not really. I love the amp, however I have a Peavy transtube studio pro. Super low price used market, and from my little experience it is equal or even better sounding amp regards.

@@dressedtosmellgood Did you put an eq pedal in the loop? channel 2 is too dark and I solve it with the eq pedal, really cut in the mix when you put mids bands of the eq

Wow. I’ve never heard of this amp. I don’t understand how it can be a SS from the 90s and sound better than all modern SS amps, especially, when 90s technology isn’t nearly what it is today. Any idea how this compares to a Blues Cube?

Very well-executed demo - nice job. I had one. I suppose it was OK on Channel 1 (the Fender-is one) as a practice amp with my band. The Reverb was pretty good. I suppose it was OK with pedals. The Marshalli-sh channel didn't give me anything usable (an experience not contradicted by this demo). It's got a tendency to get more thin/scooped as you increase the volume and it's not as loud as the 60 watt rating indicates. So, ultimately, it just kind of gets lost in the mix.

I agree the growl control could have been better implemented. I think the weak link in mine is the speaker as far as output goes. It has a suprising amount of volume but it acts funny when cranked up for sure.

60w solid state watts isn’t all that much. I think that’s why Tech21 has the Power Engine cabs for sale

Hey, I got the same amp, but with single coils it gets REALLY noisy especially on Channel 2. Yours seems really quiet. With humbuckers, I don't have that problem, so I am guessing it's not the amp's fault... My single coil guitar has nice pickups and is shielded as well.. Could it be an electricity problem in the room I'm using it (old building with questionable electricity system)?

Well, humbuckers are just hum-bucking no matter what. When it comes to single coils, it depends on electricity always with any amp - in my experience. I have mine at home studio which have some grounding done and there is no problem, I've played one gig in theatre where the single coils where ABSOLUTELY UNBEARABLE and there was almost same amount of some humming shit as actual sound... I had to play all concert on the strat position 4. Just try it in different building and you will see ;)
