TECH TIP: Mahlkönig E80 Deep Clean
Check out this video to learn how to clean your Mahlkönig E80. The E80 is a fabulous (and very fast) grinder that makes great tasting coffee.
There are a couple of places where coffee can build up over time inside the grinder. Follow the instructions on this video to keep your grinder in tip top form.
Tools needed:
- standard flathead screwdriver
- large flathead screwdriver
- two sets of needle nose pliers
- Mahlkönig burr changing tool (part number 700974)

Great Vid.... Didnt need to clean or even knew it existed for the first couple of months, now it needs cleaning twice a week...
Have you ever had the bolt that is holding the bottom burr carrier completely stuck from factory? Have not been able to release it, have used lubricant, correct sized scewdriver and given it everything.
Hi, You insert the metal upgrade on the inside of the silicone, but on other videos I have seen it inserted on the outside, please can you advise which it is supposed to be?

What can I do if I dont have the burr changing tool?

You can grab one from our website. You can probably still get the job done without it, but it's alittle more difficult. The idea is you want to keep the rotating burr in place. You'd put a screwdriver through the inside of the chute. But be careful not to scratch the metal.
What if you can’t get the middle portion to turn

i had this problem at first, loosen the two screws at least 2-3 turns, the hopper inlet has to drop about 3/16” to be able to turn it.
