    This incarnation of Zelda is one of the most fleshed out characters we've ever received since Skyward Sword. This truly is the legend of Zelda.

    Poor Eric. The change from how excited he was for Zelda to restore the master sword once he realized what she had to do.

    The line that just hits me the hardest is her final one. "Link.... Protect them all". Always thinking about others first, the people of her land. This broke me.

    You know.... I felt bad for her when she was fighting ganon, basically trapped for 100 years in the first game. To think that AT THE SAME TIME she was also out there as a dragon for so long that 100 years feel like a blink of an eye.... That hits hard.

    I pieced together the surpise twist early when I was filling out the compendium and took a photo of a dragon I thought was Farosh from a distance and immediately my mind started spinning when I read the description. The memory with Mineru talking about draconification solidified it for me. Didn't make the final memory any easier to swallow though.

    Yeah, that's one of my very few complaints, I think the draconification convo was too early in the memories. Or else I wish they didn't have the 4th dragon flying around. But whatever, it worked out well for Eric.

    Watching Eric tear up made me cry all over again😭 Probably the most emotional “getting the master sword” quest in TLoZ. I was so proud of Zelda and so heartbroken; maybe a glimmer of what our hero Link could be feeling.

    "I'm gonna kill Ganondorf so hard" was exactly my reaction to this story. Can't wait for your showdown with the big man, but definitely take your time with the game! I spent 250 hrs before the final fight and did almost all the quests. I wouldn't have it any other way. This game is incredible.

    1:26:08 That's for effect. You actually see her when you first dive from the place you woke up, she's the dragon flying around the islands. Only the Light Dragon flies that high. Also, props to the Zelda writers doing a closed timeloop story and having the balls to stick to their guns unlike almost every other time loop story

    If Zelda is the light dragon, it falls to reason that Dinrall, Farosh, and Naydra are the three goddesses that flew into the sky after creating Hyrule, Din, Faroa and Nayru.

  • @Nuvendil

    @Nuvendil

    11 ай бұрын

    So there are a lot of questions about where this fits in the timeline, but one potential explanation is the goddesses were Zonai or the ancestors of the Zonai. The Zonai being related to the deities of legend is suggested multiple times.

    @@Nuvendil I hope if there's DLC, they give us a little more back story into the three dragons, given that Mineru's explained the process of draconification, and that three of the new Zonai armor sets - ember, frostbite and charged - resemble them too.

  • @VonSnootingham

    @VonSnootingham

    I think the prevaling theory, based on Mineru's knowledge of draconification, how the three dragons' horns look like the headpieces of the three zonai ritual sets, the way their manes have a colored underglow like Rauru, and their long floppy goat ears, that the three were Zonai.

This was personal Nintendo.

    If it makes you feel any better, I don't look at the "farming" from the dragons as hurting them. More like grooming little claw trim, loose scale removal, loose fang removal ( they're probably like sharks and their teeth regenerate) although pulling out the Master Sword does seem pretty much like it is quite painful, but even that can be seen as like extracting a thorn or a splinter yes they hurt to get out but once it is out they feel much better than before.

    I've played Zelda since I was a kid and we got our first console. They've all helped shape my tastes in stories, in games, and in what I enjoy. Hell, I chose my career path seeing the credits roll on Twilight Princess at a young age. And somehow this game took everything that made the games I played growing up, and just said "Let's do all of that, but better, and have it hit much harder"

    Something that ive seen a lot of people do, she didn't go to 10,000 years ago she went FURTHER BACK IN TIME. 10,000 years ago was the first calamity, when the sheika created the devine beasts (that are inspire by the masks of the sages) and created the shrines, guardians and the towers that we used in BOTW. Even the painting has Hyrule castle already built. Zelda went further back, we are talking millennia probably. The calamity is Ganondorf hatred incarnated pouring out of his mummy sealed beneath the castle.

    Zelda actually would have been holding onto the sword for closer to Thirty to forty Thousand Years since we know the Calamity Ganon returned every 10,000 and there were at least two prior calamities before breath of the Wild. Calamity Ganon first appearance followed by the second appearance in which he was defeated by the ancient sheikah. Finally the time we defeated him. Tubing they were always 10,000 years apart Mandela would have had to hold the sword at least Thirty to forty Thousand Years. Unfortunately we still do not know how far back the founding of this current iteration of Hyrule was. It's theorized that this timeline takes place in the timeline in which link defeated demise in the past and the original timelines we are familiar with branched off from the timeline where the Triforce was used to destroy demise with the sacred Temple which was the timeline that the first link and Zelda were from. That would also explain the different story revolving the founding of Hyrule while also explaining the fact that similar events that happened in the past for all of these monuments and names to come into being. This could very well be a branch timeline in which the founding of Hyrule happened at a different time and place but all of the events we know from the previous games or at least something similar still occurred over the Millennia.

    I wish I would have recorded my reaction to the final two dragon's tears. When the final one was over and the camera pans to her flying in the sky, I just sat there for like 5 minutes sobbing. I was devastated. I loved that Nintendo had the balls to do something like this but I was so devastated and I thought that Zelda as herself is forever gone. Eventually I flew up to her and we flew around the Hyrule together for a good amount of time. It was bittersweet. It hit me especially hard since I had already acquired the Master Sword, but I had no idea the Light Dragon was her, although in hindsight there were some obvious clues. Maybe it also hit me especially hard is because I've been a massive Zelda fan since the early 90's so the games are very special to me. Zelda herselves are special to me. Heck I even cried a bit to the end of BotW although the story was rather weak. The story telling in Tears of the Kingdom is brilliant!
