I was going through the hardest time.. I was 16 and been arrested 13 x times… I was kicked out of my home and moved away to stay with my step brother and his lovely Mum, who looked after me like I didn’t believe. She saved me from prison and a life of horror. Showed me love and this album was my salvation in my room. Powerful stuff. More than I can express. Thank you for this album. Famous last words is just out of this world and I’m happy to say I can now play it on the piano. I have three children and I’m not dead…

I hear ya. I was a teen in the 70's and went into my 20's in the 80's. Great music. So much better than this stuff today. Back then there were real musicians playing instruments. Not this computerized/synthesized crap they call music today.

I couldn't agree more. I was about to write a comment, only to see that everyone has already written everything that needs to be said about this masterpiece. And it's a song that has even more relevance today, as we witness in anger and utter disbelief what cowardly men are doing to women in Iran, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, and pretty much everywhere else in some form - even here in Australia. Toxic masculinity is a scourge we all need to eradicate with all our might. Roland and Curt were very young when they composed this work of art, they were light-years ahead of their time. What I would give to hear them perform live in concert in Adelaide one day! Stay strong, everyone, embrace, support, accept and love the women around you and the woman in you!

Im 51 and I hear old folks talk like this.....and you are wrong. There are still great songs coming out. Maybe you listening to the wrong stuff. But we agree, this is just an amazing song. Absolutely loved it then and still do.

I've always thought Roland is one of the best male vocalists of all time. His pitch and range are unbelievable. I will always be a TFF fan.

This song is NOT the same without Oleta's powerful voice. What a meaningful song with deep lyrics.

Roland is, in my opinion one of the greatest male vocalists ever. I love his powerful voice. And signing With Oleta, oh my! it’s just incredibly beautiful.

It’s July 18th, 2023 and I still absolutely love this tune and this band!

In my humble opinion this has gotta be the greatest track from tears for fears, in fact one of the greatest tracks from any rock group, and with the addition of Olita Adams stunning vocals, timeless classic, bravo.

Thank God that Curt and Roland happened into that bar at the Hyatt Regency in Kansas City, Missouri while on tour, and experienced this talented artist's performance. Otherwise, we'd never have been treated to this beautiful masterpiece.

In 1985, Adams was discovered by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, founders of the English band Tears for Fears, while she was performing in a hotel bar in Kansas City, Missouri, while they were on a US tour. Two years later, they contacted her to invite her to join their band as a singer and pianist on their next album, The Seeds of Love.

I saw this tour .. the concert was amazing... oleta Adam appearing in silhouette at a grand piano...even the pre concert tape they played while the audience was being seated ‘Women of Ireland’.. the attention to detail... yes! they are severely underrated .. huge talents!

When I first heard this track I too thought it was awesome and would become the classic it has. It just sends chills through me now just as it did when I first heard it. The addition of Olita Adams is just genius, such a Great Voice alongside Roland. Just great.😃👍🏻

Quand je pense que ces 2 là se sont séparés pendant un temps, et même pendant un trop long temps. Que penser de toute cette musique que les fans ont pu rater, et heureusement qu'ils se sont enfin rabibocher pour nous redonner le meilleur de leur talent. Fan que je suis, j'espere qu'ils continueront à nous ravir avec leurs musiques, pendant encore des siècles et des siècles. Merci à Roland et Curt de nous donner tant de plaisir et de joie de pouvoir continuer à les écouter. Nothing else better.

Os jovens das décadas de 80 e 90 eram muitos sortudos só escutavam músicas boas tinham muitas bandas que marcaram a história da música mundial e eu desde novo escuto as bandas nacionais e internacionais.

realidades de uma história triste até nos dias de hoje ...mas sempre atual e bela canção . Saudades dessa época de lindas músicas e músicos competentes .

Essa versão ao vivo mostra que artista de verdade consegue emocionar de tudo quanto é jeito. Quando feito com amor a música pode ter a máscara de efeito que for e mesmo assim permanece verdadeira.

Sou dessa safra anos 80 foi o marco das mais lindas canções, me orgulho de ter vivido isso hj estou com 56 anos não vi e nem ouvi nada igual obg anos 80.❤
