Just had a wild ride. Left all my school memories behind then went to college and me and my girlfriend broke up. All of a sudden this song has became so beautiful to me, so much I have lost, like all the good times in school and memories with my ex. But like the song says, nothing lasts forever. Anyone reading this (you’re probably here because you’re going through some shit too) keep your head up. There’s so much more coming and it’ll get better. Might take a while to feel better fully but I promise it’ll happen. Now go watch something funny, lighten the mood a bit :)

This song is literally my life. My parent is in the military and I move every 2-3 years. I’ve never had a friend from kindergarten. I’ve never memorised many pathways. I’ve never known everyone in my neighbourhood. I’ll never know that feeling. I love my life, I get to experience different cultures and ways of living, I get to see different people and buildings, I get to fly to places like Indonesia, Vietnam, the Grand Canyon, drive across country, and have field trips in an amazing school that go out of country. But then I leave. I leave behind my friends along with all of those memories. But it doesn’t matter. Because now I literally can’t grieve. I lost my grandmother not too long ago, and I mourned for a week, then I just stopped. I’ve only lived a year in the current place I’m in, and now I’m ready to move again. I’m excited to, and don’t even feel like I’ll miss the relationships I have here. I don’t miss any of my friends in the other places I’ve lived in, and thinking about it, that doesn’t sound normal. I lay awake staring at the ceiling most of the time, trying to figure out what’s wrong with me. Why don’t I have any close friends? I have close friends, but not *close* friends. I don’t tell anyone this stuff. Not even my family. Why can’t I feel grief? Is there something wrong with me? Maybe one day when you settle at a place, you'll experience attachment. Its not your fault, you're living like a soldier (as your parent is), just accumulating experiences but not really getting a chance to settle those in and really contemplate. I hope when you are your own and actually get to stay at a place, it'll all come together and then you'll remember all those moments and maybe want to reconnect back to some of them.

But when I think of it that line with the underwater effect reminds me of a friendship that I had that ended with my betrayal. Got divorced going on two years now. My self esteem was so low I thought I’d never find anyone else to even be intimate with. But went through my phase of meeting random girls and one night stands. This Friday was her last night here with me. and we had a long conversation and she agreed to make it official and give us a try, even though its long distance.
