Astounded at your self control for not taking the naked bus out for a joyride before parking it in the garage.. You are a better man than I am😆

When you live in a country with rules as strict as Australia when it comes to vehicles on the road you avoid doing stuff like that 😂

this bus body could be a cool garden shed
Bus to a truck awesome Jeff. Going to be a great project. Take care.
Jeff - A good friend of mine who is an electrician and instrument tech has a saying and that is: "Go slow to go fast". Take your time to make sure of what you are doing and save the rework. Otherwise, the project is going well and can't wait to see the first time you mate the cab to the frame.
Jeff I love seeing the Alferrari in the background . Will you please put a thick cover over that beautiful paintwork while you continue with your cutting and grinding. Watching this latest project with great interest.
What a MASSIVE project for 1 person...! 😵
Warning Don’t toss the vin plates!

Could have watched another hour of that teardown, good work
Very cool project!
My dad used to build kit cars in the uk when he had donor cars his motto was keep everything until you know you don’t need it.
Spare a thought for the Toyota Coaster, one of the world's most important vehicles. Enabling mobility for the masses world wide.
That poor old Coaster TRUCK will never be the same again. Guess your neighbors are used to a bit of noise Jeff. I remember using my angle grinder through the day on some of my projects, feeling guilty trying to minimize the noise. I subsequently found out I legally could pretty well make a racket until 9pm at night. I used to shut it off at sunset, my neighbor owned guns and sometimes held noisy all night parties. They never complained about me nor I them.
We used to get them in as a cab chassis for making Winnebagos with a custom coachwork. They would come with a temporary drivers seat and seat belt and you had to wear a helmet to drive it since it was classed as an open wheeler. My grandparents would still have a temporary seat lying around somewhere! You could use the bus to haul off the scrap from the bus!
That's really great to look at! and what a huge job to keep all the parts you want to keep intact. I'm curious about the sequel👍🏻🙂
At last!!!!!!!! Go for it Jeff
So excited to see the results!! Keep it up!
Project BUSted dreams !!
Oh no! The only reason I was watching is I thought you were making a Camper Van! I am excited for you. Learning a lot watching your channel. Be well you two.
That frame is going to clean up nicely
Jeff, Convert it to 12 volts. Use a Land Cruiser ute wiring harness and it will be very close to what you need with out much modification. It will save you time, money and frustration. The Coaster wiring is a nightmare from experience and you will be pulling out most of it anyway with safety interlocks to bypass and other unwanted features.
Cutting a windshield is something. I will avoid in the future. So much. Glass shards everywhere. Yes, it's easy. I guess I could do it if I had to but I would try to avoid the mess.
Time for a bigger shed!
When I did my Cobra kit car my friend and I stripped down an ‘86 Mustang GT using the drivetrain, brakes, and fuel systems. I reused the wire harnesses and done a wire diet as we yanks call it removing unnecessary wiring to lighten the emissions crap! Tackling the wiring was the most intensive extensive task, time consuming and tedious amount of work. However having the original shop manual wire diagrams was my savior. Because I failed to mark everything when I removed it all… However, it is most satisfying when everything comes together and appreciate taking the time to do it correctly. Cannot wait to see how it goes for you!
If that safety feature for the open doors was hooked to a switch, it could be a nice safety feature to have when loading and unloading cars.
That’s a lot of work done! Suddenly looks complicated with all the pipes and wires, I guess it can be simplified, once you figure out what’s what.
Jeff, lot of enthusiasm ( joy) tearing the ugly bus apart! One step closer, thanks for being a firefighter, too! Dean(Soul) Toronto
Next project a Home cinema with all them seats!
I’m good at tearing things apart, but puttin them back in place is the problem
My two cents: I don't think bench seating for three across the entire cab is the way to go. Instead of setting it up to carry as many passengers as it can, you should set it up to carry the passengers that it mostly likely will. Which is you and potentially Mrs. Jeff. Everything else about the cab interior should be set up with comfort and convenience in mind. It's not just your show car that you want to spare the wear and tear of road-tripping, it's you too that needs to arrive to the shows rested and not road weary. That means quiet. comfortable and convenience. So two nice comfortable seats and maybe a center console with a small fridge and the like. Things to make your time on the road feel effortless.
Thank you for your service as a firefighter 🙏
Hey up jeff, good work mate looked like fun and super nice to see you having to suffer some English summer rain
I'm liking everything about this project so far...but I figured you'd put in some super cushy captain's chairs in the front for those long highway trips with a massive center console with tons of storage and cup holders. Take those janky bus seats and throw them in the trash!! :)
I can see the eBay listing now… “almost complete Toyota bus window set”😂😂
Fantastic to have Fun Facts on this “truck build” 🏴🇦🇺🦘
Another great video. So satisfying seeing the body coming off.
This is one of the funner episodes you've done in a while. A long time coming too. Glad to see the build making a big step. I love your videos. Also, thanks for being a firefighter. You guys are the true heroes. Now I just wish Toyota would bring their Diesels to the states.
Great episode, sorry about the wire chop😢
Oh happy day. Whooopeeeeeeeeee Bet your neighbours LOVE you. lol
I love this build and how you make it all look possible. You make it look like anyone can do it, and since my motto is that if I don’t know how to do something thats just because I haven’t learned it yet that fits me so well. Thank you for tons of inspiration ❤
you could look at getting a heater/ac from a Landcruiser, will be compatible with the compressor for that engine and should be compact enough for the ford. the radiator etc. may also be a better fit than the bus (without having seen the bus radiator)
Heck those things are expensive!
Another brilliant project in the making Jeff. Keep the video's coming. Good luck from the UK 🇬🇧
Oh wow that things got torsion springs
I was so excited when i saw this vid . Yew,i love taking stuff apart. Especially when it doesn't need to go back exactly.
The new mad max machine
Glad to you on the bus. You are much more patient than I am.
Great viewing video I've be waiting like everyone else for the bus demo Cheers Dave

Nice work, didn't expect to have so much removed in this video tbh.
Dang! Way to go Jeff, that was a lot of work! 😃👍 Isn’t it ironic though that it takes just as long to research, design and build a few custom pieces! D’oh😅 … something quite satisfying about seeing it come apart, I’m sure you had some fun doing it! 💪✌️

This is an awesome and ambitious project. I'm loving it. Thanks, Jeff.
Nice one mate! Looking forward to the rest of the build.
You looked like you enjoyed that teardown!
that engine is a beast 👍💪......I have it on a Land Cruiser of the 1997.....it never stops 💪
Fantastic project, love it and can’t wait to see more… salute from Denmark
Wowsers! There is going to be a lot of work making that cool a body fit on there. Love hard work, I could watch it all day! I really find your preparedness to get stuck in and just do it really inspiring for my own Kombi restoration
I'd love to see when you are ready to fit everything together 😊👍👏👏😊
Great to see the bus/ truck almost disassembled, looking forward to the next stage! exciting times ahead. Bill Mc
If you live in the UK the weather is much more consistant, It's also cold wet and raining, but it's the middle of summer.

That front glas looked deadly. ohh.. nope, just fell out. wow that's still a LOT of work. Impressive.
One good thing about diesels is the amount of stall torque available. Put it in gear, engine at idle, don't touch the throttle and lift the clutch till it bites, then ease the clutch out a bit more and the engine will respond with loads of torque - right up to max torque. Very useful when manoeuvring. So you didn't really need to worry about that throttle stop system just to get the chassis in the garage!
Awesome, thoroughly enjoyed this.
sacrée découpage ...😅. il va être plus léger... bon courage et curieux de voir la suite...😁
Hi Jeff, Wow! That looked like a Lot of work, hope you have a big skip nearby for all the removed bits?! 😂🤔
You made short work of that Jeff, well done! 👍
hopefully your neighbours are understanding, patient people with all that noise cutting up the bus. Well done, Jeff.

Durante o dia ele pode fazer barulho !!
Seeing all those hard lines near the engine gave me a headache, hopefully they fit under the cab and don’t need modifying
Good job Jeff It reminds me of when I’ve cut my convertible 1970 beetle Wether seems terrible downthere in Australie Here in France it’s supposed to be summer but it cold and rainee as well Have fun
I love this build. So different and interesting
Loved all the additional "SCORES" on the bus. If nothing else, trade goods are always useful to car people. I have no idea what all of those pipes, tubes, lines and thing a ma jigs were in that rat's nest under the floor , behind the engine; I'm Toyota has some clear purpose or at least some government bureaucrat did when they required it! I have no insight into your local registration regulations, but since you will most likely be using the vin from the bus, you may need to keep a lot of that to maintain minimum original function. Some of the Locost forums I have spent time on had Aussies really into the beer about your engineering and title rules. Some states in the US are similar. The only advice have ever thought worth a candle is don't whizz on the bureaucrats, it almost always can/will get worse! Ms. Jeff, it must be refreshing not needing those tongue twisting Italian words and terms!
Nice job Jeff. Interested in the next steps. ❤ Greetings from South Africa. 🎉😂
Wow. Ton of progress. Great video.
Lol. Here i am shouting at my phone “the windscreen isn’t glued”. Ah well, it’s out. Was a pretty tidy looking bus though. Bit of a shame, but guess at least that means the drivetrain should be good too.
Man, looking at the empty bus before you started yanking windows, I's have been really tempted to figure out a rear door and ramp system. Outdoor weatherproof storage for the Alferrari.. I've got an enclosed trailer, nothing beats it for secure vehicle and tool storage, both at the track and at home in the driveway.

Jeff, suggest Vintage Air for the Aircon and heater for the cab. I am using a Gen 2 Compaq unit for my Bedford
Fantastic as usual Jeff!!!!
as far as air con goes may i suggest electric air con. i see in the performance jdm stuff they are using these new crazy power alternators thst can run or power big things..
Love this project, would like longer vids showing more work but maybe that's just me. Also, check out "Make it Kustom" as he is making a car hauler as well.
And it looks like the progress is going pretty fast. Can’t wait to see you. Put the cab on cheers mate.
Love a new build!
Well done Jeff, scrap man will love you. Mrs Jeff maybe not so much. 😄
Great start mate 👍👍
shame you couldn't save it as a shed or make it a towable camper...but at least you have plenty of metal scrap for future projects :)

@minaminx Jeff hopefully picked the Coaster up for a good price and is worth being used as a donor vehicle for his car-hauler project. I can understand that it could have rather been converted to a motor home or kept as a bus but at least Jeff has chosen the coaster to rebirth his 1954 car hauler. Try watch how it transforms in the coming episodes if that is possible for you bear.🤣👍🇦🇺
Hi. Might pay to find a land cruiser for brake master cyl/booster, clutch master cyl and heater/ac setup and gear change so the layout suits the type of cab. Will the chassis fit through the door with the ford cab on it? Fun watching your builds and good luck with it. Cheers MD
Nice work
👍
As Jeff is a fire-fighter I wondered if he had any advice for people coping with seeing terrible things. I worked in A & E for 15 years and as we were flat-out busy I never really processed what I was seeing everyday. Now I'm a few years clear of that type of work I'm struggling at times to cope with it.

It is very difficult. Thankfully I don't see anywhere near as much as you would have in A&E, but I have a lot of resources available to me through the Brigade. I definitely recommend talking to someone, preferably a professional as these things can definitely build up and bottling it up is not a good idea. Best of luck mate.
Been waiting long time
Cold wet and miserable... thats what we call Scandinavian summer.😅
Just thought vintage air make a kit fits under the dash for the f600
Love this, can wait to see it come together, Its given me plans to make a vw split screen car hauler :)
Great stuff Jeff, but I think it's now a Buck! Keep on bucking.
Hi Jeff, where will you put all the interior, sell it or put them in storage or in the bin? All the glass and metal, guess you can keep some metal for future builds or even this one. I see you'll be using some bits in the old Ford cab. With time we'll see it for sure. This will be a very interesting build, can't wait to see how the bed will be made and how you're going to do the tilting or how ever you choose to go. Cheers 👍💪✌
Interested to hear how much the scrap metal would get you
Yes Jeff! Been waiting for this one😊
