no surprise on here tbh. It was expected. Trusova does not have any interest in competing again since Russia is banned internationally . We all saw that she was out of shape at test skates and plus the program that Tutberize gave to her was horrible on so many levels. My prediction is that we wont see Trusova in competitions anymore

@@Ardit-kq4bt I think you're wrong on every count. She seems as if she does still want to compete (otherwise why not retire instead of going through the whole process of changing coaches). She is not out of shape, in fact I thought she looked fantastic at test skates. She looks like a normal 18-year-old who is maturing both physically and as a performer. Also, she had a shirt showing her midriff at test skates and she literally has a flat/toned stomach. Everyone saying she's fat is just contributing to the prevalence of eating disorders in figure skating. She isn't a child anymore, I don't know why people expect her to look like she did at 13. And her test skates program is a matter of opinion, but personally I loved it. I thought she brought a degree of sass and even sexuality that we haven't seen from her when she was younger (of course, that would have been inappropriate, but my point is that she's growing up and experimenting with a new style), and more importantly she looked relaxed and like she was having fun. She had a very impressive 2A and cantilever even with her back injury.

It depends on how much pressure the federation puts on her. THey could cut all of her finding if she doesn't go back. But as she is older and passed the Eteri used by date they might not care, like they didn't care with Julia when she moved- although they did care with Evgenia, even when she was older. I’m Russian but live in America. I did figure skating and ballet. I was home schooled so that way I could train more. I had skating from 5am-11. And ballet from 1-4. And then back to skating from 6-10. When you are training at an elite level it takes all of your time, sometimes I didn’t eat or sleep for days. When I did something correctly I was praised and when I did it bad I was reprimanded. They would humiliate you infront of everyone. We were weighed daily. They had our weights on a board for everyone to see. It was very into Russian beauty standards (I trained at a Russian rink and ballet school). They wanted us to be as thin as paper with beautiful lines and technique. I was blonde and fair as snow so I was praised while some others with dark hair and tan with some fat on them were unlikely to get a compliment. Our coaches were very strict wanting us to be 80-90 pounds while looking beautiful and have good lines. It gave me an eating disorder that took over 5 years to manage and get better. I have confidence issues and a lack of self esteem while being a profectionist. I have nightmares of my coaches and competing. It permanently messes you up. Being Russian and going to a Russian rink in America where people would be racist and talk horrible about us. Other kids in the area were not allowed to play with us. I hope the skating world changes but I don’t think it will.

Some notes 1) Trusova really was not performing on a second day because of her back ( it was hurting) 2) she leaves Eteri because of her enormous training and between lines blames her for her back injury because of the training process 3) the whole thing seems logical because in Moscow not so many training camps and she already hs been in Evegeniy camp + it required for her moving to it and live without her family and dogs, so the only option for her was to move to CSKA 4) Mark Kondratiuk is training there and Sofia Samodelkina, the Sokolovskaya team seems nice on video and she was there many times because of Mark mostly 5) the plot twist is that the official transfer window was in May and right now she cannot change the camp on docs 6) yesterday she brought to the federation the pack of docs signed of all parties but the federation said that she will be performing under Eteri’s camp the following season, but she will be training in the CSKA and Sokolovskaya’s team 7) exactly Kostornaya’s situation in the 2020

When you say she, your talking about a 15/16 year old, i agree with you 100% but just make sure you target your anger at the right people… which is everyone who is enabling this environment and allowing this to happen. In a way she is a victim, not because of the media outbursts, i mean she was caught doping so no, so no one can really blame the media for wanting to talk to her.. but, she is a victim of the system that had allowed her to, and probably encouraged her to dope!!! I feel bad of what she had to go through because i fully believe this wasn’t her choice. The adults who are responsible for her have failed her and again are failing her with having her perform her worse trauma in a program!!!

Because another thing i keep thinking is what if kamila truly was the one to request the drug (which i honestly think is unlikely) but assuming she did… how would she have had access to it in the first place again she’s a minor, so someone was definitely responsible for stoping this literal child for making this mistake yk.. idk, honestly it feels like a stretch to me that she could have been the one to fully try to dope on her own without someone on her team or even family allowing her to do so… so bottom line it sucks, she shouldn’t have competed because its only fair that she doesn’t and but dont blame her though

Also I think the world of figure skating is just quite toxic in general. The inside world of figure skating is one of the darkest and least controlled inside the world of sports in my opinion. But this is not only in Russia. Only in the past year Papadakis has talked about the lack of support inside the teams while going through very hard times, the misogyny, we have had cases of sexual abuse, and many skaters talk about their struggles with eating disorders (all of this outside of Russia). Of course in Russia this world of figure skating is no less problematic, but you talk about these problems as if they were only in Russia. As if skaters haven’t had to retired from injuries at a VERY young age from every country, etc, etc

Kamila didn't look happy while performing that free skate. Maybe she wasn't supposed to, to stay in character, but she didn't look happy when it was over, either, when she would've been free to break character. She just doesn't seem to be enjoying her sport. I could be wrong, of course, but I get the sense that she feels trapped, and I feel awful for her. I'll feel worse still when her body breaks, as happens with all the Eteri girls. It's for this reason that, for all their very obvious talent that I don't deny at all, I ignored the Eteri skaters, at least the "women," even when Russia wasn't banned. Sure, they inevitably won, usually going 1-2-3....but not in my mind. Whoever was fourth "won," as far as I was concerned, because I can't condone training kids without a care about their health, mental and physical, in a "win at all costs" mentality so that the athletes can then be used to foster fanatical nationalism. I can't watch Eteri girls and not think about broken bodies, however beautifully they skate. Having serious hip, knee, back, etc. injuries/surgery in one's late teens, when bones and joints are still developing and calcifying and are therefore more flexible and somewhat more resistant to injury, means that severe damage has already been done. Even without any doping, this training without regard for health should not be condoned. For this reason, the last World Championships were a breath of fresh air, in my mind, if only because there was some actual tension regarding who would win instead of just which fairly interchangeable Eteri girl would win. I only wish the Chinese skaters had been there.

She is here to show us what she felt, you are supposed to feel but not to judge and continue bullying. As Kamila said I need to live it again again in order to release the pain. Did you hear? She is living with pain which she want to release.

I admit I don’t like how team Tut is trying to clean their hands from the narrative with Kamila’s free program. But there is also a part of the program that I see as a critic to the press for exploiting these news and not respecting the privacy of a 15 year old. Also the fact that they weren’t able to keep the identity of the doper in secret (because she is too young) to prevent this exposure. I mean there have been numerous doping scandals that haven’t been talked about in public or in the mass media until the child in question was older (for example Simone Biles). Also just as a fact the voiceovers weren’t only in English. They were in English and in Russian

this program reflects Kamila’s experience in Beijing Winter Olympics. She has every right to express her suffering from media exploitation and bullying. WADA delayed 44 days for the tests and didn’t release it until Russia won the group gold medal, UK media leaked her name, which supposed under protection according to international law. Shameless child abusers like you are even dare to condemn her just because she delivered this program.

Yes, I agree, her movements are so fluid and effortless, and the emotion came straight from her heart... don't think I've ever seen a performance as moving as this free skate (although I also loved watching Elena Radionova's skating for her expressiveness).

Agree. The online skating community have their biases and will nitpick about technique or this or that, but doping or no doping Valieva is in another level. Anyone can see that.

@@honeybobmarley1755 I didn't say the doping was part of the nitpicking? My point was that the doping scandal or any doping doesn't strip Valieva of her actual talent.

Rusfed really feels like a reality show lol. But for a side, i´m glad that Sasha left Eteri, is my concern that maybe she´s having those back problems related to Eteri´s expiration date, so as Anna. For other side, i can´t see Kamila as the full victim here, like she must agreed to do this program considering herself as the main victim, were other teams are still waiting for their medals, and watching how events are turning with some specialist protecting Eteri (even if his daughter is mostly obviosly moving to the us), she is mostly the one who is gonna be under the major punishment.
